Digital Photo Frame It Is!

Well, remember I told you about my friend whose birthday came and went and he is still not here yet? I have finally decided to get him a digital photo frame. There are many factors why I decided on this. For one, it is one of the most popular gadgets this year. Also, he is a photographer and a digital photo frame will come in handy when he does not need to connect it to the computer to view his digital shots. Can you believe that he is capable of taking more than a thousand shots in an event? So a digital photo frame will definitely help him to work better.

Also, I found it selling on an online store at a very reasonable price. I like to shop online as it is very convenient for me and hassle-free. The only thing now is that I will try to look for a discount code to see if I am able to save a little bit more. If I can't then I would have to but t at retail price then, but it still is affordable, thankfully!

New Smorty Member

I have joined another blog for pay company which allows companies to advertise on blogs. This company is called Smorty and like other similar services, I will get paid to blog about anything I like. Blog advertising is a rather new phenomenon and if you do not know it yet, it is simply great to get paid for blogging.

Advertsers will, through Smorty, pay bloggers like me to create buzzes of their products, services or websites and provide backlinks to their websites to enhance their search engine marketing.

I know there are still people who dislike people like me who blog for money but I do not think it is wrong to be compensated for blogging about things like I already am talking about normally.

Smorty has a great payment system where we do not even have to wait for thirty days to be paid. If you are not a Smorty member yet, why not check it out? You have nothing to lose but all to gain.

Simply Biadap

You know, I really loathe thinking bad of others but I have come across too many people who do not have simple courtesy, in short, people who are simply biadap. I don't think my expectations are too high to want people to show simple courtesy. Yes, I know I have written about this issue before but these past couple of weeks, the problem has been rather pronounced, unfortunately.

You know, people come to me to ask for a favour. When it is done, they never even say a word of thank you. Not that I WANT or NEED the acknowledgement but it just reflects on the person, on the parents and on their manners and upbringing.

While I do not lose anything helping others out without a word of thanks as described above, I feel like my efforts are unappreciated and it just makes me ask myself, why bother helping others when they don't even appreciate it. Every one goes on their merry way as soon as they achieved what they want and why should I make life easier for others?

Maybe I am weird. Maybe I expect too much. Maybe I am getting old. My friend asked me why I am bothered by such petty things. Well, I don't know. I just am.

Treasures Found In Old Cook Books

The other day when I took a break from work, I went online to search for some special recipes to try out my cooking skills. I do know how to cook but have been eating out too much due to my heavy work load.

I came across OldCookbooks.com, a website that sells the largest collection of out-of-print vintage cookbooks that I have ever seen.

Can you believe that there are over 15,000 old cookbooks and recipe books? The oldest and rarest books date back to the 1800s. That is simply amazing. I wonder what sort of recipes are in those vintage cookbooks. Is the food back then as delicious as food now taking into consideration that we have more sauces and ingredients now compared to the old days.

OldCookbooks.com has a blog too at OldCookbooks.info where people can post their lost cookbooks, cookbooks or recipes found and in depth discussion on vintage books and recipes.

This is a site that everybody who is interested in cooking should check out. There are lots of gems in there hidden in the treasured cookbooks!

Is the Harry Potter Craze Over Yet??

So the Harry Potter craze has climaxed, I guess, now that the book has been released for a week already and every one who is a Potterhead has already read the book. I don't know, even if I were a big Harry Potter fan, I still think paying MYR69.90 for a paperback is exorbitant. And yet there are people who were willing to pay over a hundred bucks for it.

Did you know hat there were people who tried to sell the Harry Potter book on eBay for USD250 the day before the book was released to the masses? Do you think that any sane people would pay that much just for a few hundred pieces of paper knowing that the book will be way cheaper the following day when it is released?

I don't remember paying more than MYR50 for a single book even if it was for a school text book. I think the most expensive book I ever bought was “Internet for Dummies”. That was years ago when the internet was becoming popular in Malaysia and I didn't even have home internet access and had to go to the cyber cafe near my house.

We've come a long way since then, haven't we?

Environment Safety & Our Health

We never really realize the importance of our health until we start to lose it. Did you notice that people are contracting diseases at a younger age than ever before? Many people blame it on genetics; some blame it on diet or the environment. While we can't really do much regarding our genes, we can help upkeep our health with a correct diet and a cleaner environment.

It is a social obligation of corporations to comply with environmental health and safety standards and government regulations. It is important that EHS software implementation is carried out like in waste water treatment plants that I wrote about a few days ago.

One such company which could help businesses with EHS Compliance Software is EDSG. Their total solutions EHS Metrics Software ensures that companies keep our environment clean and that we are protected from hazardous emissions.

It is a good reminder that companies which fail to adhere to these strict regulations risk getting their business licenses revoked.

Exhausting My Originals

My friend, the birthday boy man, who has planned months ahead to come to my cow town to celebrate his birthday with me still hasn't come yet. I told him to check the whether first before coming because I can't leave my monkey alone in fear of thunderstorm. This whole week the meteorological department has forecast scattered thunderstorms in the whole of Peninsular. How accurate they are.

I had planned to save up tens of draft posts for my blog so that I could spend a few hours with him without thinking about my backlog of blog posts and I really did have plenty of draft posts but now that he is only coming next week, my drafts are exhausted already.

Previously when he was here, I couldn't help worrying about my blogs and I kept telling him that I have to pack in ten blog posts when I get home. So rude, yeah, I know. Luckily I did not BLOG from his laptop. Hahaha! He doesn't understand the stress I go through keeping up with my posts even though he has a blog too.

Anyway, it'll be another week before he comes, yeah, change of plans, and that would be so long after his birthday already, that means I will be able to escape from buying him a present *yay* but I would still be treating him to a meal. Let's see .....

Do You Believe In Psychic Reading?

You probably would know from reading my blog with the quizzes I do and the horoscope, astrology and zodiac reading that I am into all these alternative readings to check my life. Well, I am too curious.

Sometime back, my sister went to a fair and took a tarot card reading and she said that the gypsy was so accurate it was scary. As for me, I prefer to find out my life and future by going for psychic reading or calculate my numerology. I believe that knowing these in advance could help me to make the best out of life.

Although some people may say that these are not accurate, I have seen many cases where they are rather accurate but just that the readings foretell our future, we tend to forget by the time these future events happen in our lives. Knowing out future, even partially, will help us better plan the way we live life, better than going into the future blindly. What do you think? Do you believe in psychic readings?

Voice Changed & Changed & Changed

Paul again commented that my voice has changed. Well, what does he expect me to reply to that? I do feel that my voice gets deep when I do not have enough of rest. Deep means old, BAH! But what can I do? I too wish that I could sleep the whole day.

Moreover, he does not know that I have changed three mobile phones since knowing him, which I am sure contributed to the voice change that he noticed.

But Paul isn't the only one who noticed. Some other friends would ask, "What happened to you?" Do I sound that bad? As a consolation, my dad said that when he uses a Nokia phone, his friends would ask if he is OK, because his voice comes across as sickly.

Maybe that's what's happening to me as well since I changed to Nokia? Tough luck then!

Buying Reading Glasses

The other day, I went to help my dad shop for reading glasses. He is quite fussy with the lens, frame and price. While I am also, I am not as bad as him. After spending much time practically going to all nearby eyewear shops, he ended up not buying any. He told me that the shops profit a lot because they buy Wholesale Reading Glasses at a very low cost and sell at retail price. That is a great business strategy, of course!

I came home and checked on the internet and yes, Wholesale Readers are very popular items for resale. Did you notice that reading glasses these days are very fashionable, modern looking and colorful? No longer are they looking like old people's glasses. Those have already been phrased out and these new reading glasses are the in thing now. Even older people who need reading glasses like to look good too.

As for my dad, I don't know where to get him one pair of reading glasses at wholesale price. Even wholesalers will sell at boxes of 24 pairs!

58% Off Track

Well, I saw this BlogThings quiz on one of the blogs I was reading just now and decided to take it. I know my life isn't perfect. I feel as if I am stuck in a spot that I do not want to be and yet I can't do anything about it while time moves by so swiftly.

After doing the quiz, I am surprised that my life is ONLY 58% offtrack. I have expected more. I feel as if I have wasted most years of my life. Like taking on burdens and responsibility which I really should not.

How true the results say that I am taking one day at a time. I truly am!

Your Life is 58% Off Track

Right now, you're taking things one day at a time.
Some things are going well, but you can't help but wonder if you're getting the most out of life.
It's time for you to slow down and reflect a little. You can change your life - but it's up to you!

Checking Out Better Auto Insurance Plans

My sister says she wants to look for better car insurance rates before the current one expires. This one has been expensive, according to her. She said that when she bought it, she did not have any contacts and did not compare rates, just buying from the first available insurance company.

After buying it only did she know that there are many automobile insurance policies and that she has been charged a higher than normal rate but since she already committed herself to a year of coverage, she is unable to change insurance companies.

Meanwhile, my sister has received quite a number of insurance quotes online and has been surprised by the vast difference which is why she is adamant on checking out various auto insurance plans before this one expires.

It's a free and competitive market out there!

Petition to Save the Seahorses and Pulai River Estuary

I received an email from a friend, who is a member of Malaysian Nature Society, informing me of an on-going petition to save the sea-horses and the Pulai River Estuary

I have quite a few friends who are very passionate and involved in protecting nature and the environment. I am ashamed of myself, proclaiming to be an animal lover but not doing anything significant. I am what people term as armchair advocate.

So sitting in my chair and blogging about this, I hope all of you who are reading this post would go over to the petition page and sign it, show your support and do your part in saving the seahorses and the Pulai River Estuary.

Please spare a minute from your busy schedule and you never know, we may be able to change the fate of the seahorses and the Pulai River Estuary.

Learning Casino Games From Scratch

You probably have read and remember my fascination with casino games, particularly in poker, after watching a Korean drama. Aside from the fact that it was starred by some of the biggest names and good looking Korean stars, the glitz and allure of the casino are hard to deny.

My family makes trips to the casino occasionally and my guy friends all know how to play casino games but the problem is they never want me to learn and think that girls should not gamble. I don't think of casino games as gambling, though. To me, casino games are games of skill, strategy, preparation and a little luck. Learning these games allows me to sharpen my mind, but too bad they don't think like that.

So what do I do? I went online just now and came across an online casino called Money Casino. From what I see, they have all the major casino games Las Vegas-style. What I like is that we could download the software onto our computer or we could play it online like flash games. Of course I will be opting to play online without downloading. I can't risk getting caught by my parents, you know?

Like any online casino, people come to Money Casino to play for real money and I have heard that there are people who can make a living out of playing online casino games full time. I am not up to that level so I am lucky that Money Casino offers practice games that I can play for free. Phew!

The difference between Money Casino and other online casinos that I have visited is that Money Casino has its very own in-house casino magazine. This is a free online magazine that has a wealth of updated casino news and other information that is of interest to anyone into online casino game play. I find the article Casino Cocktails and Drinks interesting, in particular and although I have heard of doctor and lawyer jokes, this was the first time I read exclusive casino jokes. You got to check them out!

I also discovered a free casino ebook from Money Casino and an illustrated casino dictionary. Boy, do I remember the times I was stumped by the casino terms when the guys chat among themselves. This time, after brushing up on my casino vocabulary, I will be able to join them in their chats. I can't wait to surprise them with my new found knowledge!

Can't Serve TLA Ads

Did you know that this blog has been accepted to serve TLA ads for a long time already? Unfortunately, I'm unable to implement the code because I'm still using the old Blogger template and TLA says that to implement that code, we have to switch to the new (not so new now) template and add it in through the widget.

So I can't display that and if I want to serve those ads, I will have to change my template. I am oh so reluctant to change it. I remember last year spending two days searching for a free Blogger template and another two days just customizing the template and it was my first time messing with HTML code and I was so proud of myself after I turned it to something that's to my satisfaction.

I don't have the heart to change it just for TLA now and since I don't have time to search for another free template and then spend more time to customize it to my liking, I think I'll just leave it as it is for now.

So, maybe when I write less sponsored posts, meaning I will have less income but more time on my hands, I will attempt to change my template but then even if I sell my ads, it’s a long shot to have decent advertisers who are willing to advertise on a non-niche, general blog. What do you think?

Bringing Cheer To Patients

If you have been in and out of medical centers as much as I have, you would notice how absolutely boring the uniforms of medical staff are. They are either stark white, plain blue or dark green. I have often wondered why can't they have more cheerful colors or even prints on their Medical Uniforms. I guess I would never know.

But then I discovered that now, there are companies that are providing more fashionable medical scrubs for people in the medical profession. And I applaud this move. Medical professionals who hang around patients all day long need to be cheery and not make the place gloomier than it already is!

My uncle and aunt work in a hospital. I will make sure to let them know of this new trend. Maybe they can let their management know?

Oh My God, Logical Intelligence Below Average?

Hahaha I just did this BlogThings Quiz, I love them by the way, and was blown away by the results. See, I have always believed that my thinking is not normal because what people see as logical, I do not and I have to make everything complex for myself and for others. I don't know why but now I know.

Although BlogThings has a disclaimer that says this is just for fun, I do find their quizzes rather accurate if we are true to ourselves.

Too bad that they did not provide us with the correct answers so that we know where we went wrong. Anyway, here is the verdict. Don't bang me, OK?

Try it yourself if you dare!

Your IQ Is 115

Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average

Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius

Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius

Your General Knowledge is Above Average

Furniture Shopping Headache

It has been a long time since I had wanted to redecorate my room and partition a bit of space to set up a small office. Last evening, I decided that I have procrastinated long enough so I went to check out some furniture stores but at that late hour, most stores have already closed for the day.

There was one store that I went to and there are so many different designs, modern and antique-like that I could not even decide what to get. Do I prefer modern or classic? I am afraid that I may get bored after a short use and then I would not have budget to change and redecorate for a long time to come.

I saw a set of Century furniture that would be great for our living room. See, distractions like these can set me off track from setting up my own little office but then this set of furniture is so beautiful. I am sure my guests would be going ooh-ing and aah-ing over it.

After that, I had to go home and recalculate how much I could spare on furniture!

Climate Petition

A couple of days ago, I received an email message from a stranger. Well, at least I don't recognise his name at all and I get lots of weird messages daily from strangers.

Anyway, this guy told me to sign a petition on climate change. This petition came after the success of Live Earth concert. The petition is at http://www.avaaz.org/en/climate_petition/tf.php

It is said that this petition will be handed over to world leaders later this year to challenge the people in position to address the climate crisis.

I glanced through the site and did not see anywhere stated which summit it will be handed during but they are aiming for 500,000 signatures and so far at this time of writing, they already have 394,355.

I think they will far exceed the 500,00 target. So, have you signed? Will you sign?

Public Benefit Addiction Treatment Site

For people whose family has been touched by drugs and alcohol, they will know how important it is to spread the word that addiction is not impossible to cure. What is important is to get the information across, place the addict in a correct program and environment and nurture and support him or her and you will see that it is possible to turn over a new leaf.

Well, I have seen the difference proper treatment could make to an individual and his family. If there are people who are reluctant to admit they have a problem and to take the first step towards seeking treatment, it is because they are afraid of the stigma and/or they have been told that they need to pay for the information to find out about the various drug rehab centers and programs.

Addicts and their families should be made aware that all the above and treatment assessments, addiction treatment, dual diagnosis treatment and other information on addiction and recovery can be had for free. No one needs to pay any money for such information.

Just like the website at http://www.treatment-centers.net that I came across, it is a public benefit site, which means that anyone could obtain information on drug and alcohol addiction, treatment and recovery for FREE.

If you know of anyone who is in need of such information, please help to spread the word. Addiction could be cured. It is not a life sentence.

Herbal Remedy Or Not?

My monkey suffered another bout of fits a couple of evenings ago. This was brought on by an accumulated fear of thunderstorm no thanks to the daily rain over here. I feel like moving house!

My vet has recommended trying herbal supplement which is supposed to calm him down so that he won't be fearful of the smell of rain in the wind. The thunder and rain haven't even come yet, you know?

I am not sure I want to put him on this. So far, I have not given him any medication, except for when we found out that he had this medical condition many years ago and none of those helped. In fact, he became worse.

Now, I think he may need medication once more because the previous bout of seizure was in March, that was only four months ago. Prior to that, he could go on for almost a year before an attack, but for the past couple of years, he developed a fear for thunderstorm and that triggered him into fits.

My monkey has the grand mal type of seizure, unfortunately, and once he gets into one, he will have a few more times within two hours. A couple of evenings ago, he had three attacks, which is considered mild.

I'm of two minds. Shall I or shall I not try the supplement on him? Unfortunately, these don't come cheap either. My vet has told me it will cost over MYR100 a bottle (120ml). This means that one month's supply is MYR300. Couple this with my other monkey's supplement that is supposed to help with the arthritis and joint pain costing MYR280 per bottle that will last for four months (MYR70 per month) and then other miscellaneous medication and food, it comes up to a lot.

Just last week, my monkey was sick and the visit to the vet cost my MYR113. Can you imagine the rates in my cow town? While I am thankful that I am still able to afford giving them the best medical care, I have to think long term also.

Urgh... more decisions to make!

Drug Rehab For Teenagers

People say that drug abusers can never come clean from drugs, especially when they started at the teenage years. I have seen my neighbors, the two brothers, struggle with their addiction and it did look like a tough fight for them.

The parents steeled their hearts and sent the two boys to an adolescent drug rehab center where they underwent a 12-step drug rehab program for teens and adolescents.

I have been told that they are now free from drugs and are living full lives like useful citizens.

Not too long ago, I came across a website called Teensavers.com which is a wealth of information for people seeking treatment programs for teen drug and alcohol abuse.

The drug rehab facility for teenagers in Southern California, Chapman House, offers addiction treatment and inpatient treatment for drugs and alcohol, much like the 12-step drug rehab program that was successful in helping my neighbor's sons kick the habit.

I always believe that people should be given a second chance and even drug abusers can turn over a new leaf provided they are shown the path to healing and recovery. People should be made aware that if one is caught in a situation like drug abuse, they do have options. Drug rehab programs are especially important to teenagers so that they can be clean from drugs early and not become adult drug addicts, which will be more difficult to kick the habit.

Oh No! It's The Rainy Season Again!

It really is a torture suffering from thunderstorms every single evening. Yes, my monkey is afraid of it, very afraid. And what happens to me? I can't get anything done at all and have to help to calm him down but even then I could do it one or two days.

Accumulation of fear will then cause him to lapse into seizures gain. I surrender, man!

I asked my friends from other states and they tell me the weather has been the same over there as well. From Kedah to Singapore to Kelantan and Terengganu. Die loh.. I just want to escape from here.

Who can help me???

Earlier this month, for two weeks, the weather was so hot, everyone was complaining but I was so damn happy that I could be in peace. But now…. I headache every day!

Apartment or House?

A friend of mine is looking for a home to buy and is in two minds on whether to buy a house or an apartment. While there are advantages and disadvantages to both, she says the main factor would be her budget. She has been living in a rented house all along and she says that a transition to apartment living would take some getting used to. And the fact that buying it would require long term commitment, she does not want to take the wrong step.

She said she did some research on the internet and asked friends who are already living in apartments on how to make moving to an apartment a joyful experience, especially for her pets and also the older family members who may find it difficult to adapt to the change of environment.

I bet moving to an apartment would pose a challenge to her in more ways than one. She would first have to figure out how to fit all her personal effects into the smaller space of an apartment!

Have You Heard of StarCeleb?

I was blog hopping just now and came across a few bloggers talking about StarCeleb. It seems that there's gonna be a show this weekend at 1Utama (Lower Ground Floor Oval) from 11am onwards on 28th and 29th July, 2007.

If you haven't heard of StarCeleb, well, it's an exciting reality show cum talent search where two talented individuals (I presume a male and a female) will be selected based on talent, looks and creativity. The winners will be awarded with lucrative hosting and modeling contracts plus RM25,000 cash each. How much are the contracts worth? Priceless, if you ask me!

I hopped over to their website at http://www.starceleb.tv/ and boy, there are sixty contestants, none that I could recognise, though. I like it that they are all required to wear white costumes only for the photo shoot. They look so stunning, yes, all of them.

Also, each contestant is provided with a blog and photo page. While the photo page did not work, I found some gem in the blogs. Some of them bothered to update the blogs, which provide a glimpse of their every day life.

So are you going to 1 Utama tomorrow and Sunday too? Get some pix. I found these on StarCeleb's Flickr page. Nice leh ....

If you can't make it though, then make sure to keep 4th and 5th August, 2007 free! StarCeleb contestants will be in Boulevard, Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur from 11am onwards. I bet there will be loads of fun. By the way, don't you think May Wan and Daniel Tan make an ideal couple?

Petra Energy's Performance

Wah, did you see the first day performance of Petra Energy? Woooo I wish I had the luck but too bad lah. Like my friend said, I will only be successful on all the cheap stocks that nobody wants.

Can you imagine earning a few thousand just owning ONE lot of Petra on just one morning?

I never had luck and because the stocks that I am successful in my IPO applications are cheapo stocks, I am always nearly given a scare of not even earning enough commission for my remisier! Cheh....

One thing though, I still can't decide if I should bang my small capital into one CDS account or spread out the money into a few CDS accounts but all applying under five lots (first box).

Which way is better wor? Any stock gurus can guide me?

Personalized Children's School Items

Although I don't have children of my own, my cousin's daughter live nearby and I know what a pain it is every time she comes home and finds out that something is missing! I remember the time when all students were required to have our personal effects named and labeled to ensure that we only take what really belongs to us.

It is not that children like stealing but they are so young, some hardly recognise what are theirs and what are not.

My sister told me that in schools in her city, it is compulsory for parents to label all their children's personal items. Children too love to see their names on their belongings. I know I felt that way too. It's like saying, "These are MINE!"

My sister told me it's soon going to be the hectic time of the year once again which we know as "Back To School". And it is time to shop for school stuff like bags, clothes, shoes, stationery and books.

I was told that at Identity Direct, parents could get these items personalized and they also sell vinyl and iron-on labels to stick on all personal effects in a standard manner. I think it's cool.

They could even label bags! Check out this Cars bag! My cousin's daughter would surely go nuts over it, if she knows about this!

Out of Whack

My friend Paul buzzed me at 11pm on my phone and I replied him once then i went to sleep without letting him know. I was too sleepy but I woke up at 5am or so and replied him and told him that I'll be going back to bed soon but I ended up blogging and did not manage to continue with my beauty sleep, if ever I had one to begin with.

Paul, who is in New York, 12 hours behind us, says that my time is out of whack. How right he is. I know my time is upside down but I can't change my lifestyle without drastically changing everything else.

Paul will be back this August for a week (too short!) to celebrate his father's 90th birthday and he'll get to see just how out of whack I LOOK.

eeekkk I wanna hide.

My Friend SO Siew Hei LOL

My friend wanted to come to visit me. I asked him what for drive so far without a special purpose. I live in a god-forsaken city where nothing ever happens so when he comes here, there is nothing to entertain him.

And as you know, I am so damn busy holding three jobs just to keep the creditors at bay, WHERE GOT TIME to layan people?

So I told him that he should only come during US holidays, which was 4th of July and also Labor Day which is the first Monday of September, because on US holidays, I do not have to blog so much.

Whoa, he so siew hei and was mad at me for a while. Come on, he knows all too well that every day, I am writing more than ten posts and keeping them all in drafts but he said that since he is driving so far to see me, at least I have to make the effort to layan him.

Urghh.. from now until the day he comes, I think I will need at least three days worth of drafts in all my blogs so that I will be ready even when I have spent a few hours with him.

I am also waiting for him to come because he is supposed to get me some stuff from KL which I can't find in my city. I am also waiting for him to help me with configuring my new device and installing some programs which I don't know why I am not able to do.

BUT he won't come during US holidays. Some people just DON'T understand that I can't afford to let my guard down even for one day.

Poker & Romance

For a long time now, I thought I was this weird girl who likes poker because I only know men who play poker. So I was very surprised to stumble upon an Online Poker Dating site that serves to bring together single poker lovers and hopefully romance will bloom.

I checked out the site and find it interesting that we could play online poker AND chat up guys. WOW! And I am surprised to know that I am not the only girl poker lover!

Poker Online Dating is a premiere poker and matchmaking site. Do you think it is possible to look for love playing poker in the free online dating site? I think it is not impossible!

If you are single and passionate about poker, there's no harm checking this site out! It's a full poker playing site with all the features of an online dating portal as well! Awesome!

Moblogging

The reason I bought my Nokia E61i was for ease in typing text since I know I'll have much to write but surprisingly after 1.5 months, this is only the second blog post I'm typing with the QWERTY keypad.

When I first changed from a regular cell phone to a smart phone with QWERTY, I was pressing each key a few times when texting, like using a regular cell phone. Now that I am so used to this QWERTY KEYPAD, I wonder if I'll ever get used to the keypad of a regular cell phone should I revert to my previous phone.

Even now when I help my dad send out text messages (he doesn't know how), and I use his Motorola phone, I find myself all thumbs over the keypad. You may know that Motorola isn't the friendliest of phones at the best of times and now that I prefer and have gotten used to the QWERTY keypad, it has gotten worse.

Well, I'll end my post here. I'll be using my desktop later. My poor fatty monkey went into fits three times earlier this evening and I have to clean up his mess. I surrender!!

Blog of a Little Princess and Prince

It's amazing how out of touch I am with the Malaysian blogosphere that I find it refreshing to read Malaysian blogs for once, after such a long hiatus. I know I have been reading too many angmoh blogs. I need to keep up with the trend, you know?

This morning, I had the chance to check out the blog of a mommy blogger. I was just telling a friend that Malaysian mommy bloggers are very supportive of each other. How true!

This blog at http://wchpeng.com is a personal blog that chronicles the daily life of the author and her little princess and prince. How cute the children are. I wonder if I will one day join the ranks of mommy blogger! No sign of it yet, though!

Dumb & Dumber

This past couple of weeks, I have the misfortune to meet with some really shallow dumb & dumber people. You know, people like in the movie Dumb & Dumber, except that these are young people. Perhaps due to their age and inexperience, they are so shallow.

They are looking at things on the surface and not really analyzing things on a deeper level. I don't even know why I have to deal with such people at work, at home and even people that are half acquainted to me. It's all my bad luck, I guess.

Earlier this year, I think I forgot to tar siew yan, that's why they are all now sticking to me. Next year during Chinese New Year, I am gonna make sure that I will whack them 99 so that they won't have the chance to mess with me.

It's bad that some people are so dumb and they have to make it worse by thinking that it's cute. I don't know, man, have you ever faced such people in your life? People who make you want to curse at them for 18 generations?

Getting Out Of Debt Is Not Impossible

Long time readers would know that I am saddled with a considerable amount of debts. It's not that I manage my finances badly but these debs were created by my parents and I like to think of it as my bad karma to have to shoulder this burden at my age.

Granted, it is never easy to get out of debt. I find it an uphill task but as long as we are disciplined, I don't see why we are not able to get rid of the old debts slowly but surely and take care not to accumulate new ones!

You know, I have to take care of the debts and help with bills and other household expenses and take care of the monkeys and yet try to keep some for myself for the future. I sometimes feel like a juggler in a circus. I know it's not a perfect solution but I am trying not to take a misstep.

We at first thought of getting mortgage help since my parents own the house but after much research and reading up on consumer finance on Bills.com, I decided against it. A house is our security and we cannot afford to lose it should we suddenly find ourselves unable to service the mortgage. I seriously don't need this extra burden.

Getting out of debt is certainly not easy but it is not impossible.

A Man and His Wife and Girlfriend

The other day, my father met his business associate in KL. This guy came from Australia with his gwaipor wife. He is a Malaysian. After the meeting, the guy told my father that he has to go to various places in Peninsular Malaysia and may drop by our city. So my father said, if you come, give me a call so that we can have lunch together.

My father wondered what business this guy has going all over the country but my father thought that he doing some work for his clients since this guy is a solicitor.
Anyway, one day, the guy really called up and said that he is now in town. My dad went to meet him and took him to lunch and he brought a lady with him, and introduced her as his "girlfriend".

My goodness! My father nearly pengsan-ed. If my father had not met the gwaipor wife in KL, he would not be embarrassed but he met her and now is meeting the girlfriend. Now my father knows what business he has all over the country. He went traipsing all over with the girlfriend, a woman from KL.

What I don't understand is that both are already in their 50s and this girlfriend even knows of his marital status and knows that he has children. Why is she still sticking with him? Granted, he is a rich man, but is that everything to life?
After the second meeting, my father lost all respect for him and rightly so!

Are all men like this???? hhhhmmmppphhh!

Are You Adventurous Enough For Interracial Dating?

I just came across an interracial singles dating site. My dad would probably be livid seeing it because he is anti interracial dating but I believe that love knows no color or creed. Correct or not??

Anyway, I have come across many dating sites before and it is amazing that there are just about any type of dating sites that cater to all sections of the community.

While registration is free for Interracial Romance, there are some premium features that has a small fee. However, the good news is that for the first 5,000 members of the site, membership is entirely free. That means these five thousand lucky members will receive full access to the portal without paying! I wonder how many members there currently are and if we would know our membership number while registering.

On top of getting free access, these five thousand lucky members will continue to receive free features when the site expands. If you would like to join, you have to be fast then. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky five thousand!

Let me know if you have registered! Good luck!

One Month of Astro

You know what? Time really flies. It's been slightly over a month since I have subscribed to and installed Astro at home and amazingly I DID NOT EVEN WATCH ONE PROGRAMME! Seriously!

There was a period in my life where I did not have access to television and I did not even miss it at all even though last time I had the luxury of watching TV. After the first day, I did not face any withdrawal symptoms but one thing I remember feeling was that I suddenly had so much time on my hands which I gladly spent on non-school books.

If you don't believe me, stay away from the TV for one week and you will be amazed with the amount of time wasted sitting in front of the idiot box.

I actually felt I am spending money unnecessarily on Astro and if not for the utility bill that had to be put under my name, I wouldn't even subscribe to it. And then, knowing that I will not watch any, I really wanted to just get the basic Family package but my dad was hankering for National Geographic and Animal Planet so OK lor... two more mini packages which cost MYR12 per month. Guess who is paying?

I Should Get An Insurance Soon!

For the longest time now I have wanted to buy term insurance. I keep telling myself to check out life insurance quotes so that I can compare but I kept delaying and sometimes I forget. Life is too hectic over here!

Insurance is very important but at the same time I don't want to be caught by unscrupulous insurance agents. I am sure you have heard of all the horror stories as well!

I was told that I could receive some tax rebates on my insurance policy that is why I am trying to commit to a term life insurance as soon as possible before we declare our taxes next year for 2007.

A friend's wife is an insurance agent and I will have to call her up one of these days to get clarification on the various insurance policies available to me as well as ask her for the best term life insurance quotes.

I am so unfamiliar with insurance because this will be my first every insurance policy. I hope that things will go smoothly!

Chicken!

Last evening, I received a message on my GChat and it came from an old friend of mine. The message he left me was, CHICKEN. Yes, that was all: CHICKEN!

A month ago, I logged into my Gmail account via my cell phone and I forgot to log out. So I was sleeping and this guy, my old friend, buzzed me. The alert woke me up and I was so tired, I typed in, "I'm sleeping!" and promptly logged out of Gmail and then continued sleeping.

The next morning, I logged into my Gmail and this guy left me numerous questions on why I avoided him. Well, I did not avoid and I was really sleeping! It may have only been 11pm, why can't I sleep earlier than I normally do, right?

I did not let him know that I logged in via my phone and forgot to disconnect. Well, that was not the first time that I fall asleep while surfing the internet on my phone. Maybe I am always lying down when I surf on the phone. Haha! Thank god I have an unlimited plan! Bahhh!

So, after one month, I did not get to chat with him. I do see him online occasionally but he can't see me. He can't see me because I don't have time to layan him. Hence the Chicken message.

Don't get me wrong. I do feel bad for not keeping in touch, not only with him but also with a host of friends. But he should know that if there's anything important, he could drop me an email. Aiyor... the Chicken message sure spoilt my day!

Is A Gourmet Gift Basket Appropriate?

My friend's birthday is over but I'll be meeting him one of these days so I think it is only appropriate for me to bring a belated gift for him along. I went online to check out gift stores for inspiration. I really am stumped this time because I have already exhausted my list of common gifts like shirts, books and media in the past years.

I came across a site that has the widest range of gourmet gift baskets but I cannot see myself giving him that! I mean, to me, gourmet gift baskets are more appropriate for family men but my friend is single and lives alone, is it appropriate?

I do admit it would be unique and outstanding because it's not the every day kind of gift but I am not sure if my fussy friend would appreciate the attention of him carrying the gift basket around. Hahaha!

Setting Up A Small Office

How long ago was it that I decided to set up a small office in my room? I think it was at least four months ago! I bought my printer and do not even have a place for it! I keep telling myself to stop procrastinating and to visit more furniture shops but when I have time to go out, the shops are already closed.

I checked the internet for interior decorating ideas and I can't decide on getting modern desks or those that have an antique design. What do you think?

I think antique designs are unique and stand out but then my other furniture pieces are of modern design and they won't match, hence spoiling the look and decorating of my room.

See, even deciding on the theme of my little office is so difficult!!

Poor Sick Monkey

My monkey, the skinny one, has been ill for the past week. AGAIN. This has been a rather trying year for him and for me. Let's not go into the money I spent treating him because I want the best for him. However, he is always refusing to take his medication and I have to hide his pills in food or drinks and he will not even touch his food and end up spoiling the whole meal.

He drives me up the wall and I sometimes end up screaming at him and then I feel bad, very bad about it because he is not young anymore and there isn't much time left for him and the fatty monkey.

The other week when I went to pick up his blood test report, his age was listed as 108. Isn't it shocking???

But when he isn't taking his medication, how does he expect to get cured? I get so stressed out over him, over the both of them, I know it's silly but I rather be the one who is sick.

My friend says I am over obsessed with the two monkeys but how can I not be when we have been together for 12.5 years already without being separated for more than 24 hours and even less?

Fascinated By Grandfather Clocks

Last weekend, we were at our uncle's house. The family has an antique grandfather clock in the living room and it brought back pleasant memories. I remember when we were young kids, we were very fascinated with Grandfather Clocks. We liked to wait for the clock to strike at every hour! Isn't it funny how easily amused children are?

Somehow, grandfather clocks can command the attention that wall clocks can't. Mantel clocks pale in comparison too!

I always think to myself, when I have my own house, I definitely will get myself a modern design grandfather clock and although it will be placed in a corner, it will be something unique to have and a great conversation piece.

Kieninger is currently one of my favorites and I would have bought one if I have my own place right now. The designs are very outstanding and classy. However, I may change my mind when I really do have a home and maybe newer designs would captivate me and take the place of Kieninger! Hah! Am I fickle or what?

No Money? Don't Be Sick!!

Recently, my sister was sick and had to see a doctor. Well, in the US, many people try to cure themselves with over the counter medication first and if that does not help, only do they make a doctor's appointment. So, after two weeks of dragging, my sister finally went to the doctor. She paid $20 during the first appointment.

The doctor did some blood tests and ultra sound scan, prescribed some medication and billed my sister $280. This means that the total medical fees came up to be $300. My sister was shocked!

While my sister has medical insurance, she said that the doctor that is in the network is not compatible with her and the medication did not work. She had to change to this doctor who is actually the doctor of my sister's employer.

This doctor is an elderly man and he did not want to take in a new patient but my sister's employer almost begged him to treat my sister. But at such a huge cost! Anyway, thankfully he lived up to his reputation as a good doctor and managed to prescribe the right medicine for my sister. She is well now.

In Home Individualized Private Tutoring Services

I remember a long time ago while I was still in school private tuition was a luxury that only the rich could afford. That was why all the rich kids scored in exams while the poorer students struggled with their lessons.

Just now while randomly surfing, I came across a website called Club Z Tutoring that offers one on one tutoring services. It is said that this is the largest service available in the world! According to the website, more than a hundred thousand students have benefited from this Private Tutor program. I was surprised that this program is offered to people of all ages, from pre-kindergarten children to adults and in a whole range of subjects.

Success in students is measured in the study skills they learnt, self-confidence and of course, their improved grades. I feel that there are no student who was born stupid and that every child should be given the opportunity to grow and learn. Club Z, which provides individual home coaching should ideally be available to every child who needs this special attention. Do you agree?

Allow Me To Rant A Little GGGRrrrrrrrrrr

Last night, my friend gave me a call without announcement first so I was in the loo when the phone rang. My mother, who is usually asleep by 10pm, was awake at that time, about 5 minutes to midnight and she went into my room to check my phone while it was ringing and saw the caller ID and asked me, "Who is this name XXX? Why so funny wan?"

Shit... I hate people looking at my phone because I hate explaining who my friends are and of course she wouldn't know whatever name appears on my screen. I told her many times already, no need to bring me the phone if I am away from my desk. If it's anything important, I would have taken the phone into the loo with me.

I told this friend about it and he taught me to change the name to BALAI POLIS or something like that. Ahahaha I just may do that and invite more questioning!

Anyway, I went to bed at 2am and set the alarm clock at 5am. I couldn't sleep. Maybe my internal clock is wonky after nine months. After turning around, about 4am, my monkey shit in the room and I had to clean it up. I was so tired, I went to sleep and at 5am, my alarm clock rang $()%*&*&^$ I forgot to reset it!!!

Sometime later a friend sent me an SMS message so I replied it. Just as I pressed SEND, this fellow called me up. What the hell... does he want to SMS or does he want to Call??? Why doesn't he allow me the time and the chance to reply his SMS? It's not as if it is so important or a matter of life and death so much so that I couldn't even have a lapse of a minute before replying him. FFFfffffffff

One thing that was funny amidst all these was that a gwailo read one of my recent blog posts and disputed me. He sent me a comment which I did not publish so he posted it on his own blog, did some research on where I am from and proceeded to say that I am full of crap. Ahahah didn't he notice the URL of my blog?

The thing that I found funny was that he mixed me up with another blogger. Perhaps our blogs are linked up to each other and we come from the same cow town. It's damn funny. Well, the internet is full of information and misinformation. It is all up to us to decipher the truth from the half truths.

Well, that poor sod will forever be left in the dark because no way am I going to set him straight. He can dispute my post but I guess he does not understand the difference between an opinion post and a factual post. Poor guy.... and he calls himself an expert! Pthui!!!

BP's Whiting Refinery: Commitment Amidst Protest

In the past week, a certain newspaper ran an editorial on the Whiting refinery of BP (Beyond Petroleum) in Indiana, where government officials have allegedly allowed BP to dump significantly more toxins like ammonia and industrial sludge into Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes.

While BP may have the permission from Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to do so, BP would like to clarify that only treated water will be released into Lake Michigan, separating water and sludge. The sludge will be disposed of separately and never released into Lake Michigan so fears of water pollution that is said to harm residents and the environment is unfounded.

To reduce dependency on crude oil from the Middle East, BP will be investing $3 billion to upgrade and modernize the refinery facilities of Whiting to handle the processing of heavy crude oil from Canada which is a more reliable source than the Middle East. Out of this $3 billion, $150 million goes into waste water treatment and management.

While residents and environmentalists may protest against BP's refinery activities in Whiting, BP has pledged to go about it well within legal means and with the refinery operating in full swing, BP is actually creating more jobs for the people now and in the future PLUS produce fuel for the daily needs of the people.

Although some people may think it is a trade off for fuel against environmental pollution, as long as BP adopts a collaborative, transparent approach as promised and continuously improve the technology in the refinery especially in waste water treatment, BP's presence in Whiting would actually benefit everybody in the long run.

No More Links

Just like the Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo, "No more tears". Well, recently, an issue came up regarding the sponsored posts that I have written. It seems that I have violated some terms of service which we were unfairly not informed of. Ugh how were we supposed to know that things have changed?

Anyway, to avoid further misunderstanding, I will no longer be giving out links to external pages unless they are to my other blogs. I would hate to be deemed violating terms yet again.. that would be detrimental to my financial health, as you know.

So what to do? I have to protect my interest and so need to be so kedekut with my links lah. Anyway, it's not ask if my link out is that valuable lah. Page Rank Three only mah!

I heard that there will be a revision of Google Page Rank at the end of this month. Wonder when that will be. Well, while I hope to get a better Page Rank, I will not fret if I don't get it. I'll just keep working on the blogs and hopefully things will come in due course.

The Vending Business

My sister told me that she has discovered a chance to be her own boss. She came across a company called multivend LLC, that supplies vending machines to people looking to venture into small time business.

These vending machines are very popular in the United States and they dispense gumballs, capsules or even toys. I am sure you have seen them in Malaysia. In fact, the last time I went to this place called ToyLand in a mall, the whole place was full of vending machines dispensing a host of things that children like!

My sister told me that it would be great to set up booths with such vending machines in fairs and parks and even morning markets where there are lots of people.

This sounds like a very exciting prospect. I remember the time when we were kids where we looked forward to the days where we could put in a penny for a toy or gumballs. I would get a vending machine myself too, if I could!

Horrible Week At Work

It had been a horrible week at work last week and is expected to continue this week. I was down in the dumps. All the bad things just felt like just falling on me. What a bad headache I have. I was rather depressed and spent the whole week sleeping early, for once after nine long months. So unlike me, right?

I wanted to watch a movie or Korean Drama that is in my hard disk for ages now but my headphone rosak-ed ^&#^)#(*^ Never use also can rosak wan! Damn.

So I spent more time SLEEPING!

Just when I thought that I could not survive should I lose control of the situation, I received an anonymous good karma message. I don't know who sent it to me but it helped me put things into perspective.
Be of good cheer. Do not think of today failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourself a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles.
I would like to think that no matter what obstacles come my way, I WILL overcome it. It will be hard but I WILL survive.

BE STRONG!!!!!!

Is Lawsuit Advance Available In Malaysia?

Last month, one of my neighbors had an accident right in front of my house. She swerved into the drain to avoid an on coming car. Her car was wrecked but she was not injured, thank God.

Both were adamant that both had the right of way and decided to settle it in court. The court decided that my neighbor had the right of way and ordered the other party to pay her damages and take care of the car repair bill.

Yesterday, I met my neighbor and asked her if everything is settled yet but she said no because it takes a long time to settle the finances and meanwhile, she is in need of money to repair her car.

I read online that there is something called lawsuit advance where people like her could get an advance against the lawsuit so that she could use the money first because bills would be piling up and she is spending more money than usual without the use of her car.

A lawsuit advance would certainly help her situation but I am not sure if it's available in Malaysia or not.

What To Get????

So my friend's birthday is really coming up soon and the problem is, he is going to travel to my city to celebrate with me.

What birthday present do I get for a single guy who earns *I think* over RM10,000 per month? He could get everything that he wants already with his own money.
Digital camera? He already has all the latest units. Laptop? He already bought one last week. And on top of that, I too need these two as well, and if I were to buy for him, I might as well buy for myself first, right?

I have always thought things like ties and cuff links would make great gifts for a guy but then this friend doesn't need to wear suit to work! He prefers t-shirts and shorts, I think... so buy what? Underwear ar? lol but we are just friends!

UUuurrghh I seriously can't think of any. I do have something on hand which he may like; WRTH 2007. The problem is that I have given him the 2006 issue last year and although my 2007 issue is very new, it is already July 2007.

So how???? What to get?? Not much time left to think about it loh!!!

Lingerie Shopping

I have a friend who is a little on the large side and I have been shopping with her before and it was a totally frustrating experience. After two times tagging along, I have given up. It is worse when there is an ongoing sale and I wouldn't want to go along even if she paid me a million dollars.

Apart from the frustration of not being able to get anything that fits her, she gets all envious of other slimmer people and thinks that big sized people cannot look as good, which is a myth! Some people say it's all in the mind but I say the clothes maketh the man, or woman! And for larger women, inner wear is so much more important because it could shape the body.

I told my friend about Prima Donna Bras which come in a wide size range from B to H and I am sure she is bound to find something that fits her well but my friend was convinced that big bras aren't sexy. Well, she is in for a surprise then, when she sees the range or Prima Donna lingerie available on Bits of Lace!!

Friend's Birthday Coming Up!!

I'm so awful. My friend's birthday is coming up on 23rd July, and that is only two days more. I still have yet to pick up a gift for him! I could not think of what he would like. Being a guy, I assume he would like some technology gadgetry. He is a professional photographer and I thought of getting him photography equipment but boy, those things are so expensive they are out of my budget!

My girlfriend suggested giving him a digital frame. This is a very popular product currently because it enables one to display digital images on the frame without hooking up to a computer.

She told me that since this friend is a photographer, he would find it useful. I found one on the internet and it is around $160 for a 7" digital photo frame. I think I could squeeze my money a little from somewhere but it sure would be a gift that he likes, I am sure!

Nobody Is Your Best Friend

When I was schooling, I never had a best friend. Good friends, yes. There were many and I could socialise with everyone whether they were from my class, from a different year, from a better or a worse class, I was able to befriend many people.

However, I never had a best friend. Some years later, which I still remember till this day, there was an interview with Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz that came out in the local newspaper and she also said that she never had a best friend.

She said that if she had one, she would never have climbed so high up in the political ladder. According to her logic, you may be best friends now, but who knows what level of friendship it will be at some time in the future?

I am also of this logic. Therefore, I never tell people any deep and dark secrets and because of this, I have been accused of not being friendly enough, not SHARING. So be it.

There are many people that I can do without in life. Whether some one is dead or alive, talk to me or not, I really don't care. There have been times that I realise, though sometimes I do forget, that we CAN survive alone. We do not really NEED anyone for moral support or anything.

And there are times that I realise that a person many act good in front of you but are waiting for the slightest opportunity to back stab you. I have been conditioned to KNOW things like that because my family has many enemies. Some people may think that I am paranoid but I have a "sense".

Shopping For Swivel Bar Stools

My friend, Philip, is one of those very lucky people who never worked one day in his life. His father was one of the richest man in my hometown and when he died, Philip inherited the house, the car, the maids and of course, the money.

I have been to his house before and his house is equipped with a home bar. I wouldn't say it's unique because I know of two other friends with home bars as well, and they are both rich too.

Anyway, I once tagged along with Philip to go shopping and one of the things he was looking for were swivel bar stools.

It was a disappointing outing and he did not manage to get what he wanted. He was soooo fussy, I told him that it would be better to shop online! At least we do not have to run around under the scorching sun!

Road Trip To Maryland

My sister told me that Americans work hard but when it comes to holiday, the go full swing as well. Just the other day, she and her colleagues packed into a car and drove from Tennessee to Maryland, it's just across two states but they had fun.

Tennessee and Maryland are actually only separated by Virginia. On the way, they stopped at a Virginia bed and breakfast. She told me that it is a very charming place steeped in history.

My sister said she took so many photos of her road trip that she used up the maximum capacity of her camera's memory card! She sent me some photos as a preview. They sure look like they had a blast!

MYR168 Worth It Or Not?

Well, since the day I bought my Nokia E61i more than a month ago, she has been naked!!! I have to be very careful so as not to scratch it, especially the screen. Wooo so large!

If it's a normal mobile phone, I could have given it a fake housing so that I could keep the original housing safely at home so that it has a resale value next time. But nobody makes fake housing for smart phones!

Last evening, I went to a cell phone dealer and he told me that if I want, he could order for me, original Nokia casing, leather worrr and is like the casing of calculators with side flap. I am not sure if it is practical or not. Plus it is MYR168!!! So expensive! But LEATHER!!

But the shop does not have any casing on display, so I am not even sure if I will like it or not. I like to try it out to see if it is practical or not but no luck! So I'm not sure if I am going to buy it or not. I feel so damn guilty to spend money like that. Plus, my friend went to Singapore and was supposed to look for cheapo casings for me but I didn't have the chance to ask him if he got any back for me!

So how? Buy? Or not?

Where The Fit & Healthy Meet

I have come across many different online dating sites because my friends email them to me but this is actually the first. have you come across a dating site where everyone is fit? I am not so fit, I am sure I will not get to register haha but I really like the idea of fitness dating because it shows that these people care about how they look like and how they carry themselves.

People who look good and feel good are a joy to be with and by the photos on the profile of members, everyone looks so cheerful!

With a social site like this,
fitness singles will have the chance to meet like-minded people, people who are fit and healthy.

I just browsed through the site and it is very easy to search for people in my area, with photo, by using the search filter. Although I am not eligible to join, I personally know of a couple of Mr Fit who are still single. I'll let them know about this and maybe they will be able to find their partner here. Who knows?

Congratulations! You Have Won RM20,000!

This morning, I received an SMS from "Celcom" with the following message:

TAHNIAH! Simcard anda memenagi hadiah cek tunai RM20000 dari peraduan Celcom. Sila hubungi 006281944501377. Terimakasih.

Of course I know this is a scam and that I did not win anything and the number is an international number but I am wondering why this never happened to me before when I was using my prepaid but now that I have migrated my line to postpaid, with the same number, I am getting this sort of messages after only one month?

Is there hantu in Celcom office who sells postpaid numbers to scampanies like these? I am scared that they will even charge me for such unsolicited SMS messages! Haii … and I read in the papers that there are actually people who called up these numbers in the SMS message. EEEkkk!!!

What's That Zwinky Thingy?

I was using my cousin's computer when I saw this toolbar called Zwinky which I never even heard of. I hate toolbars because they take up my screen real estate, but he loves this particular toolbar. He used it to create a Zwinky, which he says is like a digital cartoon character, better than an avatar, and he uses it on his MySpace page.

My cousin told me that he has made many friends through his Zwinky, and they all have their very own Zwinky too. He told me to give it a try and create my own Zwinky. He said that
Zwinky will be your best friend.
......ehhh no way, I don't think I want a Zwinky as my best friend!!!

I came home and read up more on this Zwinky thingy and it seems that people my age will never "get it" why Zwinky is so cool haha... does it mean I am OLD? Doh!

Shopping For Athletic Wear On Webbyplanet Footlocker

As I was randomly surfing about, I stumbled upon an online store that, I think, has the largest online catalog of athletic footwear, fashion and sports equipment. While I am not a sporty or outdoors person, I was interested to see if I could find anything suitable for my cousin. Well, his birthday is coming up and he is the captain of his school's basketball team. There has got to be something for him that fits my budget from Webbyplanet footlocker. There are, after all, more than 17,000 products to choose from!

Normally, I am not someone who is brand conscious but my cousin is only a teenager and brand name means a lot to him. Although I may not know a Nike from a Puma, I am glad that I could depend on Webbyplanet Footlocker to show me the differences and the wide range of athletic footwear from all the major brand names.

Usually, I am rather hesitant to shop online because I do not have the chance to feel the product, let alone try it out, and add that to the thousands of products that confuse me, I certainly am rather put off from shopping online. However, Footlocker has an excellent customer service that is open and ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is every reassuring to know that I could just each out to them if I have any doubt at all regarding my order.

My friend, Paul, who works in New York City, got me so worried. Well, he usually logs onto his AIM on the phone but yesterday, after the underground steam pipe blast, he was no where to be seen online.

Urgh that isn't a good sign!!!

Since my computer was switched off, I also logged into my AIM on my phone but the 3G signal here was so lousy, can you believe that I am paying MYR99 per month for an on-off service? It is incredible that my signal could drop so much until there is no signal at all, if you know what I am saying. I have complained but who asked me to be in areas that has weak signal strength, including my home?

Anyway, he was offline for so long. I also didn't want to run up my phone bill by sending him an SMS. It's 50sen each you know? And once we start SMS-ing, aiyoh, twenty SMS messages also cannot stop chatting! Ughh better not. Things aren't looking that financially rosy over here, you know?

But after some long hours, he finally appeared online and I managed to catch up with him. Apparently, he was on the other side of town. Luckily for him! Aghh.. I remember the time when NYC experienced total black out for hours and I could not reach him because he was stranded and his cell phone ran out of battery. This is what people have to put up with if they want to earn a decent living on greener pasture. He always tells me, if I want to jump plane, be prepared to be lonely! So sad lah!

Drink Your Veggies!

I think by now my readers would know that I am working three jobs daily and hardly have the time to rest. Boy, I do miss home cooked food! My mom would always remind me to take my vegetables but I am eating out without leisure time to spare to pick and choose my food.

I heard about the new alternative way to take our vegetables and they come in convenient packs that I could take on the move. This would be very helpful for me indeed because there are times I am forced to skip my meals. Moreover, friends have been urging me to go organic. I have always intended to! It is scary to see the rate of people falling ill. I believe it is all because of the food that we feed ourselves. After hearing about the benefits and convenience of My daily Veggies, I thought it is a great time to introduce more green food to my diet!

I was told that I could request for My Daily Veggies Free Sample from their website and I really can't wait to try it out.

My friends tell me to eat more fruit and vegetables to clear my pimples, I hope that by drinking my veggies, it will have the same effect as well. My mom would no longer worry that I am not getting a balanced diet outside too!

I Took A Blog Break! *Gasp!*

Can you believe it?? I can't! After nine long months of going by 3 -4 hours of sleep every night (is that called sleep??), I finally SHUT MY COMPUTER down for the night. Wahhh .. you may think what was so difficult but let me tell you, the dang opps were being released and they come with high payouts too! What a great opportunity to make up for the loooong dry month. But an issue came up that forced me to take a look at things in a different perspective. I spent time checking some terms of service and the forums and felt that I should not post anything before I really understood what was going on.

But.... I'm so hard core I still had my mobile phone connected to the internet with the page opened, so I do know what the hell is going on there. Dunno how long will it take me to wean it off completely :p :p :p

It's a welcomed break anyway. Long awaited too.

In the evening, I went to Jusco but dang, it was Member's Day and I have forgotten and I could hardly find a space to park so I left to another shopping mall WHERE THERE WAS NO ON GOING SALE.

Will I ever get to buy cheap things????

I had the chance to test out my camera phone. My phone is the Nokia E61i. And if you were thinking of buying it, DON'T BUY!!! Look at the quality of the photo ..........

:-( :-( :-( :-(

Cheaper Alternative To Home Decoration

My sister who spent a considerable sum of money building her house nearly ran out of funds to decorate it! Wouldn't it be funny to have a great looking house undecorated inside? Bare looking houses are not only incomplete but eerie looking as well.

Her employer told her not to sweat over it because bonus is coming up and she could get some cheaper alternatives. At first, my sister wanted to get some wooden window blinds but after much calculation and budgeting, decided to get faux wood blinds instead. The LOOK like the real deal anyway and nobody would be any the wiser.

My sister thought she would have a sense of regret of not being able to afford real wooden window blinds but after getting the faux wood blinds, she is just as satisfied with the look and function. Guests have even complemented her on her sense of taste and style!

So you see, there is always a different approach when it comes to home decoration. It just takes a little research!

I Had No Luck, What About You?

Over the past week, this blog has received many, and I mean MANY, searches for keywords Scanwolf and Petra Energy. Well, the results are out already and I was not successful. What about you?

I opted to put in an application for six lots under one CDS account. Ah... I thought that would give me a better chance but I guess not. Would I have had any luck if I have selected to apply under four CDS accounts but only one lot per application? That would mean these four applications would fall into the first box, which means MORE people fighting for it.

Haiiihhh I am going to watch it on its opening day on 26th July. I bet it will open with a great premium like Deleum. It always happens! I will still watch though, feed myself some "cake".

That's why lah, I told my friends I have no luck, but they never believe. It's like a curse but one friend says, I do have luck, if not why I get all the cheapo stocks? hahaha

Reviews of the Best Online Poker Sites

I'm sure you know I have been trying to learn poker for the longest time now. Things are getting more exciting now that the World Championships are getting closer. I was randomly surfing various poker websites when I came across Mac Poker Online, a website dedicated to playing poker on the Mac. While I am not a Mac user, I can think of a couple of friends off hand who would love to know of my Poker für Mac discovery.

Mac Poker Online is a very comprehensive online guide to the best online poker sites and online casino bonuses including detailed reviews of some of the top online poker sites and where to get the best poker bonus. This website is really very easy to navigate because of the layout arrangement.

There are very detailed reviews for PokerStars which received ten stars, Pacific Poker and FullTilt Poker. Unbiased reviews like these are great for other poker players so that they will know what to expect when they play in these sites.

Right now, I am still learning the ropes and not good enough to play for cash. Hopefully, I will get to join my friends on online poker sites soon!
