So the Harry Potter craze has climaxed, I guess, now that the book has been released for a week already and every one who is a Potterhead has already read the book. I don't know, even if I were a big Harry Potter fan, I still think paying MYR69.90 for a paperback is exorbitant. And yet there are people who were willing to pay over a hundred bucks for it.
Did you know hat there were people who tried to sell the Harry Potter book on eBay for USD250 the day before the book was released to the masses? Do you think that any sane people would pay that much just for a few hundred pieces of paper knowing that the book will be way cheaper the following day when it is released?
I don't remember paying more than MYR50 for a single book even if it was for a school text book. I think the most expensive book I ever bought was “Internet for Dummies”. That was years ago when the internet was becoming popular in Malaysia and I didn't even have home internet access and had to go to the cyber cafe near my house.
We've come a long way since then, haven't we?
