Body Acne

My sister told me that she is suffering from a bad case of body acne suddenly. She said it's painful even lying on her back, where the majority of the acne is. I think it would be caused by bacteria.

In any case, I reminded her of her plans to buy a foam mattress by foambymail as she had intended to, earlier this year, but has procrastinated thus far. Although I am not sure if foam mattress could help her shake off her body acne, at least a better mattress could give her better rest thanks to the support foam mattresses give thanks to better body support.

In fact, I had also wanted to buy one but I have been so busy running about town because of my work, I don't have time to shop for it. Maybe I'll just get it online.

Making New Plans

Yes, it's that time of the month again where I make new plans to travel to KL for November. While it is not difficult to just pack and go, it is not easy either if I were to set up meetings. This time, I think i will only be able to spend two days and one night in KL because I have to be in Ipoh before and after due to prior arrangements.

Also, once I am home in Ipoh after that trip, I will not be able to travel in a long while. I guess I will NOT be going to KL in December. Maybe I will get to hitch a ride to KL during Chinese New Year but with so many events going on usually during that time, I would be working through it.

HHmmm let's see how it goes.

In Between Jobs

I bumped into an old friend at a Deepavali open house the other day. It's funny. I never expected that! I haven't seen her for years but we could still recognize each other, luckily. LOL

She told me that she is in between jobs now and that she is finding the job market tough. Well, I think it could be because there aren't many Audiologist Jobs in the city in the first place.

Anyway, we had a good chat and promised to keep in touch but I think that due to our busy lives, we will not be able to keep in touch. Let's hope we bump into each other some time again!

Taking A Break

Now that Deepavali is over, it is time for me to take a break. I have been running all over town attending Deepavali open houses in Ipoh. It makes me glad that Ipoh is not as developed as KL or PJ, which means that I could still go to a few places a day, unlike KL where I could only go to one place a day because of the terrible traffic jam.

So today, I am going to be a good girl and stay home to catch up with some of the work that I had neglected over the past week, catch up with laundry and bills. Yes, it's the end of the month again. I probably am in the red again this month, I didn't balance my account yet.

A friend told me that life is very balanced. With so many things to do, expenses increase. We can just home that income will increase as well! Sigh... not in my case!

Enclosure Systems

My sister told me that she recently ran up her electricity bill because it was too cold. My sister is someone who would be in long sleeves even in summer, so I am not surprised. I suggested that she look into saving energy by replacing her windows with something that would help keep the cold outside. Besides saving energy, it would save her money and it's more environmentally friendly too.

I recently read about Connecticut window replacement where cost-effective vinyl windows are the popular choice among contractors, builders, renovators and homeowners of both new homes and older. This is because vinyl windows are not only cheaper, they are strong and have a longer lifespan, plus they come with zero maintenance.

Harvey Industries, the leading manufacturer and distributor of high quality building products based in Waltham, Massachusetts, has an excellent range of windows, doors and patio rooms. I'd say that no matter your requirements, you would be able to find what you need from Harvey, and get just the right design to suit your home.

Harvey Industries also offers superior quality and design enclosure systems which allow homeowners to close in their porch or other structural openings without spoiling the overall design of their home.

Happy Deepavali 2011!

I know, I am one day late, but I have been so busy runniung around that I just don't have as much time to sit down to compose my thoughts to blog, like I used to. The additional problem is that I am still carrying my flu from last month so you can imagine what a headache it is! i still feel feverish off and on, I just hope it's nothing serious. I'd welcome the flu anytime!

Anyway, I would like to wish all my Hindu readers, Happy Deepavali, may the light win over darkness. May the coming months be a whole lot better than they were prior to October. Yeah, I guess most of us are still suffering from the effects of the economic downturn, including yours truly. Phew!

Physician-Only Social Network

I have been going in and out of the hospital lately because I am on a mole removal program. Going from doctor to doctor, I find that sometimes, I have to repeat my case to the different doctors. I thought that if there was a network where physicians could communicate better, it would save a lot of time, and reduce the chances of mistakes made.

Doximity.com is a social network for physicians in the United States that enables members to privately communicate with each other, exchange information or even locate former classmates and residents. For example, if you would like to look for James O'Kelly MD, you could easily do so via Doximity.com, as each member would have undergone a three-step credential check.

Sick Once More

It seems as though every time I come home after being on the road, I am sick. I remember I was down with gastritis after coming home, which put me on my bed for four days. I am now still suffering from sore throat, slight fever and cough, even though I have been home for almost a week now.

The bad thing about being sick is that I have so much work piled up that needed catching up and after two days spent at home doing that, I have to be out and about town again doing some other work. Phew... luckily, I can still function, though it's tiring, and not like last month where I couldn't even get up from bed because I was so dizzy.

Anyway, I hope that my self-medication works. I hate seeing the doctor. I think I have been in and out of clinics and hospitals way too often than I like this year, and it's only just October!

Packing Extras

My friend in Australia will be flying to South America next month. He said that he just bought an extra large luggage bag so that he could dump everything inside. When he is on the road for almost one month, he needs to pack two of everything for his camera and mobile phone.

Luckily, he is using a Samsung phone so he could easily buy spare, inexpensive samsung mobile batteries. When traveling, it's not easy to keep batteries charged.

Even for short trips, I always have extra batteries for my phone and camera. As a matter of fact, I also need spare memory cards!

Home At Last

I spent 4D/3N in PJ earlier this week and I am finally home. Sick again. I am so unfit, it seems like every time I go away, I come home sick, if I don't already fall sick when I am away! What to do, I have to travel. This time, I was sick already even before boarding the express bus. Cheh!

Anyway, am home to recuperate and to catch up on my work. There are so many things to do, yet there are bills to pay, so slog on loh! What to do? No ATM!

This month's trip wasn't as happy as it could have been. Of course, I've seen new things but emotionally, it was very straining. I don't need this in my life. I wish I could extend my stay but I have things to take care of in Ipoh. Bleh!

Traveling The World For Food

My friend had the luck to be chosen as one of four people to "travel the world". It's a quality hunting job that required them to judge the quality of different aspects of travel and dining was one of them. My friend, someone who lives to eat, was ecstatic, of course. Anybody, in her shoes, would be.

My friend, an expert on different cuisines around the world, still had to have a handy food guide at her fingertips. In Boston, where there are so many restaurants almost at every corner around the block, how would one know which Boston restaurants are good, and which should be avoided? That's where a reliable Boston restaurant guide comes in.

When in Boston, one doesn't necessarily have to eat American food only. As a metropolitan city, one could try out cuisines from around the world, right in one city only. She told me there are some authentic Chinese restaurants Boston, which she says are highly recommended.

I remember a friend who lives in Boston who told me about a Mexican Restaurant that he discovered. I believe it was also listed in the Boston food guide, he just hadn't read about it prior to dining there! That's why I always read up on food guides and reviews prior to visiting a new city! I don't want to miss out on new dining experiences!

PJ & KL Next Week

I will be spending four or five days in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur next week. There are plenty of events for me to attend, and I am trying my best to pack everything in within this time frame. I need to be back in Ipoh by Friday, so it will be hectic for me.

My friends think I'm mad to go travel to KL monthly like I am doing now but then there are not many things happening here in Ipoh, can you blame me? Ipoh so boring lah. But even as I plan my trip, I am already feeling weary of the time that I would be spending on the road.

I hope I don't fall ill when I return to Ipoh! That would be bad!
