It has been a week since Snoopy fell ill on 19th May, 2009 with tick parasite. Until today, he has not walked, has not been able to walk. It pains me to see how he struggles to get up, get frustrated because he can't and cries. I would help to lift him up if he could balance himself but unfortunately, he has also lost his balance.
I checked the web for similar symptoms and Snoopy seems to have something similar to “Canine Vestibular Symptom” which strikes geriatric dogs. Of course, we couldn't actually pin point to this until his blood is cleared of tick parasites.
The vet says that given Snoopy's age and the severity of the attack against his immune system, he is afraid that irreversible damage has been done. He proposes to give him shots of nerve tonic.
Dino used to get injected with nerve tonic every week too to help control his seizures but they don't seem to help. I hope that Snoopy will not suffer too much. My poor baby!
