While looking for an image on Google this morning, I chanced upon a website that carries a friend's name. I thought that my friend has suddenly is so web savvy but it's not his website. LOL! My friend's in Australia while the website owner is in Canada.

Anyway, there is a sub-directory of this website, written by a Malaysian by the name of Chai, who chronicled his travels around the world in 634 days from March 1999 to December 2000.

Boy, I am very impressed that he travelled around the world alone to many, many countries and hope that one day I could do that as well. I don't think I dare to do it alone, though. Besides, I prefer to travel with one or two more people. This way, we get to share our experiences and memories.

This guy Chai, has so large a network that he was hosted in many of the countries that he visited. Not only did he save some money, I would think that one would be introduced to the local culture better, with local hosts and tour guides.

I wonder how much money one should have saved up to indulge in a shoe-string budget round the world trip.
