As a follow up to my precious post, Say Please, Say Thank You, this is not just happening online. A couple of weeks ago, a lady that we got to know a few years ago approached my dad for help. Although we have known her for some years now, we did not know her background and did not know that she has to financially support two brothers who are deaf and mute and a sister-in-law who is the same. One of the brothers is already married, you see.

So this lady said that her brother needs a job. My dad asked his friend who in turned sought the help of another friend, the Boss, and the brother was hired. Not only was the brother hired, the younger brother who is also deaf and mute was also hired. When they introduced a few other deaf and mute friends to this boss, they were all hired. As you probably know, it's not easy for a handicapped person to look for a job. Although a deaf and mute person is not physically handicapped, there are many bosses who are prejudiced against them.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, my dad met this lady and he asked if her brother has been hired. She said, “Yes.” THAT'S IT. She did not even have the sense to follow that up with a "Thank You." Like I mentioned, my dad made a connection via his friend who in turned asked the boss for help. This means that even my dad had to thank his friend for help and yet she did not even have the decency to show a little gratitude and appreciation.
