The senior couple who used to live opposite my house came back from America for their summer vacation. The man says that he is working in a bank there while the wife says she opened her own hair salon. I don't even know if I should believe them. The man is about 70 years old, who wants to employ him in a bank? For all I know, he is washing dishes there.
Whatever the case, I was told that they are back with a mission. They are going to use their US Dollar earnings and invest in some prime real estate. They sure could afford it now, thanks to the currency exchange difference they gained.
I've seen many people being able to retire comfortably in Malaysia after working hard in America. And yet there are people who gambled all their earnings away in American casinos. When they are old and come back without savings, and can't work in Malaysia after leaving the job market for so long, who will pity?

your neighbors are a few of those who value their earnings to make their life comfortable. i respect them even though they might lie about their work, but who cares? as long as they are not the idiots who spent time working and spent the money all on gambling.

I respect the couple for working so hard at their age. They could have retired since their children are working now and could support them but they did not choose the easy life.
