After spending the better part of my 9-day holiday in Kuala Lumpur, I discovered that for some things, it is cheaper in KL than in Ipoh. My friend, Albert, has told me about it previously. He's from Ipoh originally, and I thought that he was just joking but I think he is right after all!
Of course, for food, it is usually more expensive because Ipoh folks demand cheap food that is delicious, comes in large portions and has to be delicious but for other things like a haircut, I don't think it is possible to find a saloon in a shopping mall offering RM15 haircut and wash unless it's an opening day promotion or something.
For earrings, prices are the same as in Ipoh; 3 pairs for RM10. And can you believe that one could buy a pair of fashion sunglasses for RM10 per pair in MidValley Megamall? I don't think one could get that unless it's in a night market or something!
