My mother told me that she used to have a colleague who would spend the better part of her pay check in jewelry. While I think it's a waste, my mother says that if this lady does not deck herself with jewelry accessories, she would be looked down upon by people in her community. My mother says that she is not alone and it's their "culture".
Well, I don't know about that and I think it's pretty silly to waste good money when we could just as well buy and wear discount jewelry and nobody would be any wiser!
