Yes, I actually know of this a long time ago, but was reminded of how small this world is recently.
There's this guy whom I got to know from an online forum who actually lives in the same neighbourhood, surprisingly. After chatting online with him, I decided to meet him because he was migrating. Well, if I didn't, we may not ever have the chance at all.
One of the things we chat about online is a game where he reveals something about himself, and I would reveal something about myself, particular where our homes are, just because we live nearby and would try to find out each other’s identities.
So, I met him and even though we live in the same residential area, he doesn't know me and I haven't met him before.
The funny thing was that he posted a photo of his mother on Facebook and I asked my dad if he could recognise this lady from our neighbourhood. My dad told me that she is so-and-so's wife. I actually know so-and-so and in fact, have met this lady many times in the past. Perhaps, that was ten years ago and she has aged a lot, so I couldn't recognise her.
Now that I know which family this friend is from, I could recall that I once even went to his house. I guess that was back in the 1980s, though he wasn't around when I dropped by with my parents and sister.
And now that I remember, I know that my parents don't like his father that much because of a long standing issue. LOL This friend probably knows nothing about it.
You know, even though this friend lives nearby and we are the same age and share many mutual friends, we never bumped into each other before, until we met online. Life is funny like that, like how a friend met and married her neigbourhood guy overseas!!
