I am surprised that Malaysia's first lesbian kiss will be screened in over fifty cinemas nationwide today. The movie, Histeria, is a horror flick about a group of female students who spent a weekend at a haunted hostel.

Don't get me wrong. I am not against lesbianism, lesbian kiss or whatever but just surprised that this passed National Censorship Board, which used to be so strict is now so liberal and in Malaysia, an Islamic nation, too!

When I was younger and used to watch TV (yes, I no longer have time for TV), I remember that we wouldn't even get to watch "normal" bed scenes. HHmm guess this is one sign of a more developed nation.

However, apparently, the controversy now is not whether a lesbian scene is on the silver screen but the two actresses who locked lips are Muslim. A controversy like this has brought attention to them. Let's see if they choose to live it up, or live it down.
