My sister told me that there is a book sale near her place. "Near" also need to drive 45 minutes to the venue. LOL You know what? A lot of used books are sold at 5 cents only!!! That's very cheap and some are in very good condition.
My sister and I used to read a lot of books, mostly bought from second hand bookstores. We did not mind that the books were yellowish, as long as the content was good and there were no missing pages.
Now, I no longer have the time to indulge in my love for books while my sister is still keeping up with the hobby, which I am happy for her.
According to my sister, there would sometimes be promotions where it's only US$3 for all the books that you could stuff in a bag. The bag, it seems, is provided so it's a fixed size. Still, the books are very cheap on the average and my sister would take the opportunity to stuff a few bagfuls of books which could last her till the next book sale. It seems that there are two or three per year.
I have a few books here with me that are brand new that I haven't got around to reading. At first, I felt very guilty for splurging on books and not have time for them. Then I tell myself that I would get around to them when I have retired but I hope that by then, my eyesight would still be good for long hours of book reading!
