I read an article on Star Biz, "Celcom downplays MNP after getting too few users" and it seems like Celcom is not getting as many subscribers from MNP as other telco operators. The report, however, did not state how many subscribers Celcom lost because of MNP.
According to report, Celcom's average revenue per user for the third quarter was RM101 per postpaid user and RM47 per prepaid user. If Celcom could give us a good deal, I may just stick with Celcom but I plan to switch to their prepaid plan.
You know, the other day, I received a call from Celcom and they told me that they are having a promotion. The promotion is that if I could increase my bill for the month of December compared to November, I would enjoy 20% discount on the difference between my bills for that two months.
I thought that it was pretty ridiculous. Why would I want to spend more than necessary just so that I could benefit from the mere 20% discount? My monthly telco bill is already close to RM200. Would I want to exceed that for just 20%? They must be kidding, right?
And right now, just when I would like to check out their prepaid plans, so that I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of porting to another prepaid service offered by their competitors, they website seems to be down. SIGH.
