Keeping Occupied With Holiday Party Games

Now that the school holidays have commenced, many of my friends with young children are already dreading the days ahead until school reopens in January. I could sympathize with them even though I don't have children of my own but I do have young cousins who would create havoc each time they come over for a visit.

During my time, though, it was up to us children to keep ourselves occupied during school holidays. We did not have cable TV or a computer so that was pretty tough. But now, modern parents are always planning something or other to keep the children occupied, entertained and mentally stimulated.

A friend told me that she plans to hold a mini-party or gathering, if you will, every weekend, so that her children will have something to look forward to. She told me about the holiday party games that she plans and the party food that she is learning to make. Boy, that sure sounds like a lot of work. I wonder if I would have the patience for that if I have children of my own.

Luckily, she does not have to crack her head for game ideas or recipes. There are plenty of ideas on Celebrations.com that she could try out!
