After watching three episodes of The Gem of Life (珠光寶氣), I have to say that I don't like the theme song by Shirley Kwan Suk Yee (关淑怡). I know it's supposed to sound classy, in fact, it sounds like Shirley Kwan put on a fake accent. Anyway, this song sounds like a 1960s cabaret song but maybe it's just my ears!
In any case, check out this music video of The Gem of Life Opening Theme. It looks like the producer was trying to fit in as many scenes from the drama as possible into the 1+ minute time frame of the music video. Besides overlapping the scenes; there are three or four scenes in almost every frame, they even fast forwarded the video. LOL I guess with eighty episodes, there are many "interesting" scenes to be included!
What do you think of this song? Like it? I much prefer Heart of Greed and Moonlight Resonance soundtracks.

hhahaha this is the 1st time i see a producere using such way to compile the theme song. not nice at all.. eww.. yaya i like all many songs from moonlight resonance. they play the song at the right scene making the drama very touching which is a very good work.

I agree, the theme sound sucks! The song sang by Shirley Kwan actually hurts my ears.
I also like it too. It sound interesting! The opening is also strange and give me a new feeling. I agree that there are several same scenes in it. But the opening is just used for creating the mood not for looking at details. Generally, it's good.
I have to admit that after 25 episodes, the song kinda grows on one but still, this is not something that I would loop on my player. LOL
i think da theme song is nice but i hate da theme video! it's too crammed up!
the theme song's collage is supposed to resembles french collages. and i do expect more from shirley kwan, i couldn't tell it was her voice until the 30th episode. before i knew, i was thinking how shirley kwan could have done it better than this singer! but it is actually her. lol
