This morning, I read that it is against Californian State law to homeschool our children. I find it totally odd because even less develop countries have no qualms about children being at home.
Well, my neighbour homeschools her two children and she told me that it is not a problem as she could easily purchase homeschooling supplies over the internet that suits the different learning speeds of her children.
In her case, although she homeschools the two children, come exam time, they will have to sit for their papers in school. I did ask the children if they are able to cope and they said there is not much difference studying at home or school since their homeschool textbooks are approved by the Education Ministry.
My friend, Amy, who will be moving to Bangkok later this month, plans to homeschool her children too. It will be a challenging time for her but I know that once she gets her hands on the homeschooling curriculum, she would actually enjoy it.
