I was surprised when I checked the latest currency exchange this morning and found that the USD is now only at 3.129 against the Ringgit. My God, if this is not a cause for concern, then what is?
My friend told me earlier that he wished that the 12th Malaysian General Elections will come sooner than later because once the election is over, the Malaysian government will not bother propping it up as window dressing.
Well, I am so thankful that I did not wait for the General Elections to be over before I cashed out my USD, or I would lose a few hundred Ringgit just on the lower exchange rate.
I know that with the impending recession in America, some say that they are already IN recession, the exchange rate will eventually drop to a low of 2.50 which was around what we had over ten years ago, before the 1997 Asian financial crisis BUT I just wish that the good times will last a little longer!
I too hope, along with all Americans and their Government, that the cheques that 130 million American households will receive later this year will successfully act as an economy stimulus.
Talking about this, I just realized a couple of nights ago, if ever there is such a thing going out to the poorer people of Malaysia, I will never qualify for it, and not because I am ineligible because I am rich. It's a long story. *Sigh*
