Wawasan Open University

Just after I wrote the post about thinking of going back to school and wondering if I will have the time or the discipline to complete my course, I saw an advertisement in the papers for Wawasan Open University. I wonder if qualifications from this Uni will be recognised worldwide. Well, not that I intend to work overseas if I manage to get this qualification but then it is good to know my options.

In the first place, I am overwhelmed with work and I believe that we have to work hard and smart while we still can, while we are still young and can take the gruelling hours.

At this age, tertiary education is compulsory for people fresh out of high school because I don't think that young people can survive anymore in the job market with just an SPM certificate, unlike my time. Well, this is not to say that SPM certificate holders cannot make a living. They CAN, just that they will be at a disadvantage (yea, I know!), and do not have a head start. For people who lack formal education, it is always best to be their own boss and HIRE people who to work who have that paper qualification. This is life and life is strange.

Oh well, getting qualified is always at the back of my mind. Perhaps I will do it when I become a woman of leisure.
