Late last month, my friend followed me to the florist to pick up a bouquet of flowers as we were going to visit my grandmother's grave. It was her death anniversary, you see.
There were so many flowers at the florist, fresh from Cameron Highlands, that we had a fun time identifying the various species and were surprised to find that some flowers come in very odd colors too. Actually, I have relatives who are flower framers in Cameron Highlands and they export these fresh flowers overseas. It's good business but like all businesses, comes with a certain level of risk.
At the florist, we were also trying to guess the meaning of the various flowers. I failed horribly and the only flower meaning I know is that a single stalk of red rose means "I LOVE YOU!" Ahem... no wonder I never received that before. *sigh*
Let me try harder this coming Valentine's Day next year!
