The other day, I received a comment that said, "Teachers to be paid based on performance.' Well, I thought that was kind of weird and I did not publish it as it was commented on a highly irrelevant blog post.
However, I think this is a very valid logic, and teachers are probably going to kill me for saying so. Well, I have never been well-liked by most teachers anyway, no thanks to me always challenging their authority. I always believed in standing up for my rights even during school days!
Did you know that when I was in school, the first day of class was always about which teacher is giving what tuition class? First day of school is like recruiting students for their tuition classes. I know of teachers who would do a lackluster job teaching the class but put their energy in their tuition classes.
Worse were teachers who would favour those students who took up tuition with them. These students will perhaps get better scores, teachers are being less critical of them, being "loved" more and generally get better treatment from the teachers.
It is not that I do not like teachers, but I feel that they are usually not being fair to some of the students who could not afford to take tuition classes. Yes, I have been in that positron before not because I could not afford it, but because I don't feel the need for it.
So it is true that teachers should be paid based on performance like sales girls getting a low basic pay and being paid commission based on sales for the month. What do you think?
