It's kind of hard to imagine that it has been six long years since the 9/11 World Trade Center incident. This month, most of my friends have been sitting stuck to the TV watching documentaries on the unfortunate terrorist attacks that nobody could imagine would happen that way.
It was only like yesterday, right? I remember when this happened, a friend of mine was missing and her name was published in the newspapers as "Malaysians that are unaccounted for" and I thought that she must have been dead. I was very negative about it, but then I have known this girl since kindergarten and we went to the same school from kindergarten until Form Five. We even went to the same tuition classes. So you can imagine how close we were. PLUS she shares the same name as me too. After that, she left for the United States to further her studies and continue to live there to work and we did not keep in touch but still, there was the old bond.
After some time, though, she managed to contact her family to let them know that she was safe and sound. In fact, she was in the other building that was not crashed into. It was a close call indeed. Thank God she was not in one of the other two buildings at that time.
Life is so fragile, we never know what’s gonna happen in the next minute.
