Early this morning at 5am, I sent a message to Paul which went like this: Cham loh, now only I go to bed! And he replied me, instead of "So cham ah?", "What is cham loh?"
Doh.. you say cham or not? How to explain in text only without the proper pronunciation and intonation? Sometimes I will say in my message, "Very rice lah!" and nobody would understand, although they speak Cantonese!
So, what does Cham really mean in English? Is there are specific single word to translate that? I can't think of one in my foggy mind which only had a grand total of three hours of rest.
What I told Paul, though, was, "Die!" but that's too strong a word. Somebody please help me out! Thinking of a direct translation for it is driving me nuts!
