I thought that TM's Stupidity was the mother of all leceh-ness but apparently not. I went to Tenaga to try changing the bill from my father's name & address to my own.
According to the lady at the Customer Service desk, this is what I have to do:
1. Get the house grant changed from my dad's name to my own
2. Get a letter from the municipal council stating that such an address is now this address
Tell me that is NOT absurd. Can you imagine if there would be anyone who would transfer the property to you just because you are renting it and should have the utility bills under the tenant's name?
In my case, granted, it is father to daughter but the property is under my sister's name and she is in the United States. Just by transferring from a family member to another, we would have to pay property tax and all those fees due to the land office and the last time we did that from my mother to sister, cost more than MYR4000 and that also we did not get any legal advice from the lawyer.
So tell me, who the hell would transfer a property to another person just because of a utility bill? I guess this is something intelligent people fail to understand.....

I think this is a new regulation. My friend told me that it was mentioned in the newspapers but I can't confirm it.
