The IS Life After Drugs

I met my old neighbor last weekend. It has been years since I saw him and the last I heard was that he went to the United States. So, last weekend, he came back to attend to a family matter and I had the chance to catch up a little with him.

My neighbor, Lee, told me that he went to the United States not to study, as we were told previously, but to undergo drug and alcohol
addiction treatment. A long time ago before he left, he tried various methods but none helped him. Even when a program managed to get him out of the bad habit, it was only for a little while before he relapsed into it again.

His parents finally managed to scrape enough money to get him over to the United States where he is put through a program that finally helped him to stay clean from drugs and alcohol. Lee is so happy with a new lease of life that he now tries to help everyone who is in the same boat as he was.

I think it is commendable that he managed to kick the habit. I always said that it may be hard to keep away from drugs once a person is entangled, but it is not impossible. Lee is a testament of that.
