Celcom Post Paid

As you know, I am a Celcom prepaid user. I was thinking of converting my prepaid line to postpaid. It would be awesome if I could keep my current number. I went to Celcom's website to check but the website doesn't have much information. I hate flash sites because they are so slow to load. You know how Streamyx is!

So I called up their customer service. They said that I could keep my number *yippee* but they have two types of packages. One is the new minutes plan and the other is the ordinary postpaid plan that have to pay MYR30 per month just to keep the line active.

The minutes plan has a lower tariff overall for both voice call and SMS. The problem is, the minimum package is MYR50 with 250 free voice minutes and 20 SMS. I had to get them to clarify that if I do not make any calls at all and sent out 21 SMS messages in one month, how much would my bill be?

I was told that it would be MYR50.08 since the voice minutes would be burned and after the free 20 SMS, I would be charged 8sen per SMS. Since I send out more than 20 SMS per day, this kind of package is not for me.
However, their Spiderman promotion package is quite attractive. Can get free Sony Ericsson or Motorola handphone!

But if I take the normal postpaid package, don't use the phone at all also MYR30 gone wor! How lah? I think I better stick to my prepaid. And by the way, I am still waiting for my ZERO access fee post paid package. Got or not?

RM30 x 12 =RM360. Sony Ericsson phone costs >RM1,000. I heard one needs to subscribe Celcom for 1 year only-what. Then you can revert back to prepaid. (Is my info right?). You still have to phone someone every month, right? The RM30 per month is not going down the drain. So, simple maths shows you still gain.

Hi Wong!

Thanks for your comment. Am surprised that you found my post :p

But the normal postpaid plan RM30 X 12 don't have free handphone. The handphone only comes with the minutes plan (RM50 or RM80 per month) but the SMS free 20 per month only I one day also finish already heh heh

I actually search for Spiderman3 + Sony Ericsson online. There I got you thinking you an agent in Ipoh.
RM50? You mean the compulsory RM20 per month for nothing and then the RM30 for calls? So, RM50 x 12 = RM600. Mmm ... consider first. You staying at Tg. Rambutan? Working as a psychiatrist?

Hi Wong!

Welcome back! I'm not an agent or selling handphone but a Celcom prepaid user. Wanted to convert to post paid because I need a utility bill in my own name & address to verify certain applications.

But Celcom postpaid not worth it for my usage. I use SMS more than calls so if I take the RM50 per month package minutes plan to take advantage of the free handphone, then I burn the call time every month since I rarely make out going calls.

On the other hand, I SMS a lot, so one month only free 20 SMS for this package, then the est charge 8 sen each.

To qualify for the handphone, you need to pay upfront (in advance) RM50 X 13 months.

By the way, I'm not staying in TR. It's just a joke.
