My friend, Neil, just returned from Melbourne where he lived for five years. He told me of the new phenomenon in Melbourne called Zingara Cucina underground restaurant. In Italian, it means "Gypsy Kitchen".
The funny thing is, like they gypsy, this kitchen has no fixed premise. They go where they like every week, and also open as they like! It seems that they are only opened during the warmer months. And yet, they are fully booked until January, 2008!
I just they managed to get all those bookings by word of mouth. Most people won't even know who to call to make a booking. The owner/operator/chef is still nameless till now!
This restaurant is a definite must-try if I ever go to Melbourne!
