Ringgit is Gaining Strength. Bad News?

On 23rd December, 2006, Business Times reported that the Ringgit posed the strongest gain against the USD since nine years ago when the Ringgit was pegged against the USD. It was finally unpegged approximately a year and a half ago.

The strength of the Ringgit is said to be partly due to the recent capital restrictions imposed by Thailand, which caused regional stock markets to fall. Luckily KLSE recovered the following day! GGGrrrrrrrrr

How will this affect us bloggers and website owners?

Of course our revenue from writing reviews and from Google AdSense will be much lower after the conversion. Most of us already have to pay a hefty 3.9% + USD0.30 service charge to receive funds via Paypal, and because Malaysia is such a good country, Paypal refuses to allow us to link to our local bank accounts, hence we again need to pay a second round of service charge or interest or whatever, just to cash out from Paypal.

It is indeed ridiculous that Electronic Funds Transfer payments from Google Adsense have been extended to four new countries (Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, and Slovakia) recently but not Malaysia.

Paypal, Google Adsense & Click bank are all the same. Bah!
