Last week, I was informed that a fellow chatter friend is undergoing treatment for nose cancer and we are all saddened by this turn of event.
While I only know him remotely, and I believe none of us chatters have met him personally in the few years of chatting, or have exchanged photos with him, I believe each one of us have fond memories of one another.
We may have had disagreements and differences in opinion once in awhile, but we are all part of the big chat family and I trust that we have touched each other in one way or another and each of our chat friend will remain in our hearts and thoughts for a long time to come, even though we may lose touch in the course of time.
It's at times like these, upon receiving such unfortunate news, I question the plan that God has for each and every mortal like us. It's said that "Everything happens for a reason" but what is the reason? Why the suffering, why the pain?
It's at times like these, I wonder what are the important things in life. Who are the people that matters most to me? Is it better to please others, or to please myself?
It's at times like these, I am at a loss for words, because I do not know how to comfort someone in such a situation. Talk is easy, talk is cheap and I can't even say, "Oh, I understand how you feel ...." or something like that because who can understand except for the one going through it first-hand?
I do believe in God and yet.... why are the good people "challenged" and the bad apples live up till a ripe old age?
Having said that, I believe in the power of prayer and believe that miracles can happen, when we least expect it. This is the miracle that we are all praying for, that he, and all who are in the same boat as him, will overcome whatever obstacle God has placed in his path, in one great leap.
