I haven't bought any new clothes or shoes or bags yet for Chinese New Year. Do we really need to wear red new clothes for Chinese New Year? I am superstitious but not to that extent. I guess I don't feel a need for new clothes because we always celebrate Chinese New Year in a low key manner. Our family is small and my sister isn’t around this Chinese New Year, yet again.
But then I am always looking out for good deals in clothes, shoes and bags and buying them as and when I come across them so I don't really need to shop at the last minute. Besides, I have quite a handful of clothing articles that are never worn before and are stuffed in my wardrobe.
I have a friend who not only bought new clothes but also custom made two sets of cheongsam. Gosh, does anyone still wear cheongsam besides during Chinese New Year and to stuffy traditional wedding or anniversary dinners? No, right? This means that her newly tailor-made cheongsam will not see the light of day after these fifteen days of Chinese New Year.
And that's not all! She even buys matching red lingerie to be worn during Chinese New Year. *shake head* There is someone like me and there are people like her. SIGHHHH
