I am not on the market for a new digital camera. Even though I do not own one, I am using a pretty good Olympus SP-550UZ and have no issues with it. It may be an older model but it's good enough for my needs. However, while out shopping last evening, I saw a digital camera deal that is difficult to resist. Apparently, we could trade in any old digital camera and buy a Casio Exilim, I forgot what model, for only RM799. The usual retail price is about RM1399, if I remember right.
On one hand, I think that this is a great offer, although I do not know of any Casio Exilim user so I don't know how good it is or if it has any quirks. After all, it is only RM799 and after all, the digicam that I am using right now, no matter how good, isn’t mine. Of course, I don't mean to trade in the Olympus, but another personal, old, lousy digital camera which I have even forgotten its brand unless I check.
On the other hand, I am thinking that it's RM799 and I really shouldn't spend money unnecessarily, seeing how the economy is. Even though Malaysia is said to be the fourth least affected country in the world by the credit crunch in the United States, it really is difficult to tell how accurate that study was. Cash is still King in such economic climate, right?
Sometimes I think I think too much. I wish I could just close my eyes and swipe my credit card and worry about it next month, like many people I know. LOL
