Yes, it is possible, according to the Prime Minister. But he failed to mention how many more years it would take for such groundbreaking liberalization to be a possibility.
My friend says that if someone from a minority race is the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he would "squat to pee". This is an insult to women but that's the feeling.
Personally, I have been wondering if Malaysians would be more accepting to have a non-Muslim man as the Prime Minister or a Muslim lady as the Prime Minister. As for a non-Muslim female Prime Minister, I think there is no chance; at least not in the next fifty years.
What do you think? Would you mind having a lady Prime Minister who is not from the majority race? I would like to see that happening in my lifetime. That would indeed be groundbreaking for Malaysia.

I think chances of having a tranny to become Thai's PM is higher than having a non-muslim PM in Malaysia.
Eibla,
You think so too. Sometimes the authorities think we're kids.
The public generally is still racist. Although some of us do not discriminate other race, but we still very much focus on our differences instead or leveraging our mind and interest.
The day Malaysian can accept only 1 type of public school which offers multilingual syllabus, is the day we are ready for an elected PM based on merits.
Eibla,
I think the root of the problem is in our parents for bringing us up with such a racial mindset. Perhaps our generation could change that with better values passed on to our children.
I really would like to see a female Prime Minister in Malaysia, irrespective of race.
Haha.. yeah, my parents are pretty much biased against certain races.
Surprisingly, Philippines already have their female leader years ago.
Aside from Pakistan, which had a female PM, but assassinated later. The future of having a female leader in an Islamic country, is very dim. :(
I see gender inequality as a bigger problem because when it comes to race, everyone will eventually be "mixed".
Barack Obama is mixed; I don't think he would have received similar support had he been pure African American.
Yeah. I think so too. And if Bush isn't the outgoing President, i doubt Obama will be elected too.
