I have been thinking of porting my Celcom 019 to uMobile 018 so was surprised that uMobile now has a store in Ipoh Parade. Actually, they opened their doors on 5th August, 2008 but I just discovered them about a couple of weeks ago.
They don’t have full services here in Ipoh, though. The store basically is just "selling" prepaid packs and nothing much else. I say "selling" because the prepaid packs are actually FREE and preloaded with RM1. The validity is seven days only so if someone tries it and decides to keep it, he will have to make a minimum top up (RM10) before the seven days are up.
I did not request for a free starter pack because I don't want a new number. I wonder when they porting service will reach us here in Ipoh. uMobile is charging RM10 only, thought the FAQ from MCMC says it will be RM25. Yay! Can't wait!
