So I thought that after being struck by lightning for the second time in recent months and getting my modem and wireless router replaced with a spanking new ADSL 2+ modem with wireless G router that costs me MYR240 would solve my problem. Well, it did for a little while.
Since Sunday night when I started to use this, I found that my Streamyx connection will suddenly be cut off. The LAN lights that connect my computers through cable will go off but the wireless light will still be on, so is power and internet but there is absolutely no internet connection at all, as if Streamyx is down, but this time, it's hardware problem.
I unplug and plug in again and it reconnects. This happened quite a number of times and needless to say, I am pretty annoyed. I need a stable internet connection to concentrate on my work and not one that would cut me off as and when it likes.
I did call up the shop yesterday and the guy told me to test it a little while longer and if this fault continues, he will exchange another unit for me. I can't determine if it's a problem with the adapter of the modem itself so both will be exchanged. I won't have to claim warranty because I just bought it not even a week.
By the way, the TM assigned modem that was killed by lightning has been replaced. I called up TM this morning at 9am to lodge a report and the technician came to my home at 3.30pm. Awesome service!
