Living in Ipoh, I have been exposed to race horses since young. My father has friends who are horse trainers and I have friends who are jockeys. My friend's son is really fascinated with horses right now. I remember I felt the same when I was a kid and I was lucky that I get to spend a lot of time with horses with my father's connections with horse trainers and stable hands.
My friend, though, tells me that if her son wants to own a horse, she would buy one for him. She could rent a stable for the horse and he will get to ride him during the weekends. I think it's a pretty awesome idea!
I told her that if she plans to buy a horse, then check out the horse classifieds right now. Buying a horse is not like buying clothes or shoes, you know, so it's better to keep an eye on horses for sale until an opportunity comes up to purchase the "perfect" horse.
I know of a place that allows horse owners and breeders to place free horse ads. I guess that is a good place to start checking out the horses that are put up for sale. I hope she will buy a horse for her son so that I could ride it too!
