It's the end of the month again and it is time to balance my books. I survived this month only because of a more favourable foreign currency exchange rate. I think that it is time to cut down my expenses again but cut where? I really have no idea. I did not spend much this month but all that I spent were on myself (two pairs of shoes, a pair of pants and toiletries ONLY) and on trying to fix my Streamyx. Otherwise, I have a fixed commitment on the bills, monthly allowances for my parents and debt repayment.
I really have no idea where else I could reduce, especially on the bills. We do not have a refrigerator, no air-conditioner, no washing machine, do not boil water with an electric kettle or iron clothes.
We don't eat out, at least not when we have to pay the bill. We don't go out for a movie treat because there's plenty of entertainment at home via Astro or the web. And I walk when I don't have the car to use.
Still, all these measures don't seem to be enough. Besides trying to meet my monthly commitments, I have to prepare for future expenses like Snoopy's food and supplements which come up to approximately RM400 each purchase and this November, I have to fork out almost RM900 for six months of road tax and one year of auto insurance. You can be sure I would be screaming that I would not be able to meet those expenses month-on-month. Sure, I could dig my piggie bank but that's not something I want to do.
I’m trying to take one day at a time. That’s all I could do.
