I don't know about you but I can never understand how someone could splurge millions of dollars on just a piece of art. If you remember, last month, Francis Bacon’s Triptych was successfully auctioned for US$86 million; US$77 million was the net sale price while the balance of US$9 million was commission for the auction house. I am still reeling from these figures!
Perhaps I do not have the mentality of the filthy rich or the opportunist mindset of an investor but anyone who is crazy enough to spend millions on a “just an art piece” would be crazy not to give it the best fine art storage possible!
I am not sure if the new owner is going to display his art but IF I were to be in possession of such an invaluable piece of art, I would rather store it in a safe place and wait for its value to rise. Hehe!
Mind's Eye is actually a subsidiary company of Humboldt storage and moving company but Mind's Eye specializes in all things fine art from storing to crating to transporting. Of course, when you have spent US$86 million on a piece of art, it would be like placing your life on the hands of a company so you would want one that has the expertise and dedication of its staff!
