If you are an Astro subscriber, you will know that they are in the midst of upgrading their Smart Card. I received my Smart Card a few days ago but have yet to change it because only my dad watches Astro and each time he turns the TV on, I am not free to change the Smart Card.
The other day, I received a call from Astro, an automated call, at around 3+ pm while I was taking a nap! The call basically tells us that we need to upgrade our Smart Card to avoid a disruption of Astro services.
At first, when I saw that this caller has a four digit number, I thought that it was a call from my friend overseas, but when I knew that it’s an automated call from Astro, I did not even bother to finish listening to the message. And the message was read out by a lady whose Malay sounded funny, as if she was a foreigner. Cheh…
Stupid lah, I was so pissed off to receive such a call while napping. I always am pissed off when I get a call or text message when I am sleeping, and especially so when it is something unimportant like upgrading our Astro Smart Card. GGrrrr

I changed one of mine gold card and now the card can't be use on other decoder other than the one you updated. So if you have intention to use your Astro card elsewhere on and off, think twice when to switch to new card

I think I would not have an issue there. I subscribed to Astro about one year only but during this time, not once did I take out the card. LOL
I had the same problem with Astro when they called me incessantly just becoz i was late in paying the bill...AND they STILL called me AFTER i have paid! I was totally pissed with them.
Wah, chase you even after you have settled your bill. That is too much already!
