I am a rather superstitious person and read signals in stuff that happen in my life. I know this is probably a bad habit of mine and it is especially so when I read them all wrongly and place stumbling blocks on my own path. Ah, perhaps this is the mindset of the uneducated or worse, CHINESE and uneducated.
A couple of evenings ago, I was having a bath when my necklace gave way and my lucky gemstone pendant fell into the toilet bowl. My chain fell in too but it did not go all the way down and got stuck by the walls of the bowl.
This is the second time that it happened and there was once recently that I saved it just in the nick of time and it did not fall in. Luckily, both times that it did, I managed to pick up my pendant once again. I know, eeewwww!
My pendant is not an expensive gemstone. My dad bought it for me years ago and it is supposedly my lucky birthstone. I think it didn't even cost him MYR50 but times were hard and he wanted me to have a lucky life, so I appreciate it and wear it all the time without taking it off. My chain was bought by my mom. It is an expensive chain, about MYR400, because it is white gold since I could not wear silver. Although white gold is expensive at the point of purchase, it does not have a resale value and the price will never appreciate like gold. My mom chose white gold for me because she doesn't want me to be attacked by snatch thieves. As you know, I am from a humble background so these two items mean a lot to me.
I was lucky that I managed to save them. Although I could afford to buy new ones they would not be the same. Besides, to have my lucky pendant lost, I would probably feel like bad luck is just round the corner and my mood will be spoilt.
