My friend, Neil, is a frequent player of WoW. He told me that some people have reportedly gotten their WoW account banned. To him, that is like the death of a family member! He plays so much that he thinks his WoW character is a living part of him, something which I can understand because I am a gamer as well.
So these people have apparently hired a company called Gamepal which specializes in leveling up game characters for their clients. They charge something like $49 but I believe the rate varies as it depends on the requirements of the clients.
To their horror, they found out that their WoW accounts were subsequently terminated and they were not able to reopen their account no matter how they pleaded with WoW administrators. Their characters of course died there and then too.
It seems that Gamepal uses scripts to level up the characters and that violates the Terms of Use of WoW. It is a pity that these clients were not told beforehand. Gamepal may have written something about it in their terms but not everyone reads the fine lines.
