Did you hear the news that there will be a debate to write off cars that are above 15 years as unroad worthy and they should be taken off the road? And people with such cars can redeem for a MRY5000 voucher to buy a Proton?
I think it's just plain crap that people, who are already not that well-off, if they are driving 15-year old cars, should be financially burdened such just because Proton needs to sell their cars.
To me, 15-year cars are still new and road worthy if they are well-maintained. If you tell me that 25 to 30 year old cars should be written off, then I do agree that the majority of such cars are in a deplorable and dangerous state. But 15-year old??
If this ruling is enforced, I think half the people in my street would be carless. Is that what the government wants?
