My friend Paul is an architect cum designer in the United States. He told me that Americans are very into feng shui and they want the home to be feng shui friendly. So as the designer, he has to work with his client's appointed feng shui consultant to create a home that is not only beautiful but also comfortable and in harmony with its surroundings.
He said that he has to make sure that the homes that he designs fit the idea formed out of his client's mind and imagination and yet stay true to his own designing ideals and also match the principals of feng shui. That's why designing a home from scratch may take up quite a bit of time, but the end result, when approved by the client, is well worth the time and effort spent.
