Studying For FINRA Exams Via iPhone or iPod

As one of the lucky people to own an iPhone, many people who played with my device have told me that they really love the screen and that it is good enough to study but all I ever use it for is to watch videos!

This evening, I was told that Knopman Financial Training has come up with study courses that their students can download and sync to their iPods and other comparable devices to so that they can study on the go. It's too bad that the students are training to be stock brokers. I play stocks but I have no plans to be a broker! I wish there are other companies which will come up with study material that I would be interested to study.

So far, Knopman Financial Training is the only company that has produced study material for Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) exams. This is very innovative and they are truly going with times.

Knopman Financial Training, a leading securities training company, also provides their students with access to instructors so that they could ask questions if there's anything they are unsure of. Being able to access instructors and lessons through their Video iPass (VIP), means that more people can study to be securities broker.

One In A Million Season Two Grand Finale

As I am blogging, my mother is watching One In A Million: The Grand Finale. Who will win? Ayu or Shila? This season, I did not have the chance to watch the programme every Friday but now that there are only two contestants left, I personally like Shila's sweet looks and Ayu's voice.

Shila does look so sweet, doesn't she? Only 18 years old, that's like SO young to be facing the country like this. Hhhhmmm Suki was 18 as well when she won the million Ringgit in One In A Million Season One. Wow was that last year two years ago? Time seems to fly by I really have lost my grip on it.

Ayu, on the other hand, looks like really unpolished and raw but she really has talent. However, I think that she is too short to be a mega star. What do you think?

Who will win? The answer is just 45 minutes away. Whoever wins, I don't really care but I wish her all the best. Having come so far really takes a lot of guts and even though I am way older, I know that I won’t have the guts to participate in talent contests like these.

Home Gym

I told a friend that I need to start exercising to get the fat off my body! Eyerrrrr I hate being fat but I am too lazy to do anything about it. However, a friend says that it's no way I am fat! He says I am still slim. Well, he can't see where I hid my flab when we go out.

My friend suggested that since I will never been able to set aside time to go to the gym and by the time I get off work it would be too dark and dangerous to workout outdoors, it would be best for me to set up a mini gym with home fitness equipment. This is very popular right now with many families. They have a room at home where the whole family can work out.

I think that this is a good idea but will I be able to motivate myself if I were to work out alone? I think I would invite someone over to workout together with me. I won’t feel so lonely, then!

WOOT!!! Today's 29th February!!!

How many babies will see the world today? haha I pity them! They will only get to celebrate their birthdays once every four years which means that they will only get birthday gifts every four years too.

The only good thing about being born on 29th February is that the person grows old by a year with every four years. I'm sure if this is really true, we all would wish that we were born on 29th February! It's like the answer to eternal youth LOL

To be frank, I am so not looking forward to a new month. It will be damn hard to cari makan now with PR000000. I wonder if I could even make enough to cover the household expenses. Damn hard, man!

Our Talk Spot

I just signed up with a new forum. I know, I know, I swore that I have retired from forumming but it is hard to kick that old habit. I mean, I used to be a fixture in a few forums and posting a few hundred posts a day but that was history. Now, I am a blogger BUT give me a good forum anytime and I will gladly circulate once again!

Anyway, I was told of Your Talk Spot just now and decided to register and see if it's any good. Well, Your Talk Spot seem to be quite new though they have more than three hundred members already, including yours truly. Well, don't be surprise if this forum becomes as popular as, say, LowYat because the founding members are all veterans when it comes to forum building.

Browsing through the forum threads, I cannot really pinpoint if the forum has a particular niche. If it does, I cannot see it but it has a little of every thing and the topics are all easy going. New members should always introduce themselves in a special thread, like I did just now.

Oh yeah, Your Talk Spot or more popularly known as ytSpot has their own currency called ytMula. Mula = Moolah = $$, geddit? :D So far, members have already started to collect ytMula and using them to buy services. I think this is a great way to get something for almost free.

Another thing I like about ytSpot is that it allows us to showcase our blog or website on the forum. It’s a great way to gain traffic and new readership and as a blogger, I know how important to keep new readers coming in. Traffic numbers keep a blogger motivated, believe me!

Currently, my favorite section of the boards would be the Joke threads. You know how “in the dumps” I have been feeling lately. I thought that I would go looking for a good joke from a joke site to cheer me up but I no longer need to. One of the members has posted a few funny videos and I’m feeling better now! I expect to visit the forum more often. I only fear that I will get addicted to it!

Cute Couple Cake

Just now I was at this shopping mall called Greentown Mall and there's a bakery there which I went to buy my supper. I saw this cake decorated with a cute couple and I took a shot at it through the glass of the display cabinet with my Apple iPhone.

Now that I carry two phones out, I always try to capture whatever I think will make a good photo. I used to take photos with my Nokia E61i but most of them do not turn out well and I would say, I have to trash almost 80% of my shots. Now, it is NOT because I am a bad photographer, OK??

Last night until this evening, I was ultra frustrated as there were problems at work but sometimes it is good to step away for a little while, shut of the computer longer than ten minutes and go out for some fresh air. See this cake is so cute, it makes me happy but I did say that it takes very little to make me happy, didn't I?

Indoor & Outdoor Furniture

I mentioned that I will be going furniture shopping for my office desk but then I cannot decide if I should get a desk or a cabinet, or a desk AND a utility shelf. I hate making decisions like these!

I ended up going outside to look at their display of outdoor furniture and garden accessories and you know what? Now I want to buy outdoor furniture for my garden already!

Our compound is rather large and it is quite bare because I don't like clutter but after going to the furniture store and seeing what they could do with their garden with landscaping and design, I think I want to do the same for my garden as well, except that I am a DIY kinda gal and will not pay for professional services!

The only problem is that with my tight schedule and budget, I wonder when I can realize my dream of having a beautiful garden now!

Keeping Track Of Vacancies Through Jobs Blog

My friend, Jacqueline, told me that she wants a new job because she is being sidelined in promotions in her company. Well, I don't know why but I do know that some companies practice favoritism.

Being an accountant, she has two options, to continue to work in an accounting form, or to set up her own company. Jacqueline thinks that she would rather continue working for others, though she would prefer to work in a MAJOR accounting firm.

Jacqueline told me that she has been keeping track of vacancies from an accounting jobs blog and hopes that something relevant will pop up sooner rather than later.

Wow, how job searching has advanced over the years. Do you still remember the days of knocking on doors and flipping through the classifieds that come with our Saturday newspaper? Is there anyone still looking for a job like this? If there is, then he is losing out big time, don’t you think so?

To The Polls!

Are you ready? Do you know who you will be voting for? Who are contesting in your Parliamentary and State seats in the first place? If you do not know, then it is time to check out from the various Election resource sites or in the newspaper.

Whatever the case, you need to check out first if you are a registered voter. Also, where will you be going to vote? I checked mine from the website of the Election Commission Of Malaysia last week but the have not updated the information yet.

Last night, I went to check it out again and now, they have already given us the information on our polling station, polling stream and serial number. If you are still blur on where you should go on Polling Day, go to http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftarbi.asp and just type in your MyKad number.

Counting My Blessings

These past few months, it has become increasingly difficult financially. Well, for other people, what I earn would be enough. In fact, I am self-supporting, has been for a long, long time but frankly, it is very unfair to me to have to support the family and the debts. I don't know of any other person who is as unlucky. I feel like I am being cursed to be born in this family to have to shoulder such a burden from young.

HOWEVER, I remind myself time and again that I am very blessed to be able to do what I can for the family and yet have extras for myself. I am thankful for all the opportunities that come my way and I am thankful to have all the friends who support and encourage me, to lend me a hand when I need it and to help me through trying times in my life.

Sometimes, it feels like no matter how f@rked up I think my life is, there is a guardian angel looking out FOR me. That, I am extra thankful for!

Wow, the other day, I was at a shopping mall where there's a stall that does nail art for people. I am not sure if they do provide manicure and pedicure sessions as well but they could well be prior to painting the nails.

It's too bad that I did not have my camera with me because I was quite impressed with the artiste who came up with all sorts of designs and patterns and doing them on the nails.

I mean, how much space could a nail artist work on with the size of a nail, right? They look very pretty but I think that most of us hands-on people will find it impractical to spot these nails.

Those who are lucky enough to be able to wear these on a more regular basis, well, they just have different lives than the rest of us!

Self-Interest First

I told my friend that whether politicians are from the ruling coalition or from the opposition, they are only championing for their own cause, first and foremost. Really, they are all so fake talking about how they want to run the country for the betterment of the Rakyat. Now, I am not going to name names but nobody in his/her right mind will trust a politician.

Whether a politician has a say in the day-to-day administrative running of the country, I would say that 99.9% of the people fighting for a chance to run for election in a State or Parliamentary Seat is doing it for self-interest.

Sure, some people will say that, "Hey, look, I sacrifice my private life to serve the PEOPLE." But when you think of the perks that come with the Seat, those far outweigh whatever sacrifices a politician has to go through.

Don’t you think so? Don't you KNOW so? This coming election s your chance to vote for the person whom you think most deserves to represent you in the State Assembly and Parliament. Who do you thin will speak up for you? Remember, every single vote counts.

Upgrading To a Master’s Degree

A friend told me that she seemed to have reached a dead end at her job. Let’s face it, it looks as if two thirds of working adults already have a basic Bachelor’s Degree. Of course, every one would seem to be at par with another employee. Perhaps it is because I do not have even a Bachelor’s Degree that I am a little special hehe but that is not my point.

My friend told me that it is time to upgrade herself but with a family to care for and a regular 9-5 job to go to, she doesn’t even have personal time, let alone time to enroll in a Masters Degree course.

I did suggest that what she could do is to get herself into a online University, but she has to make sure that it is an accredited one, like Capella University. Capella, which was established in 1993 already, has a good academic track record so this is the kind of institution that you want to get your education from.

The DAP Mascot Looks Like Red Kukujiao

The other day, when I was watching the News on a rare occasion, I had the chance to catch DAP launch their new mascot. My god, doesn’t this look like a kukujiao in red condom? Hahahahah sumore got "dick ring" LOL

Who in hell thought of this idea, I do not know but perhaps this shows how innocent DAP leaders or the committee who handled this mascot thingy are, to never thought of this looking like a huge angry penis or something, though it IS smiling!

If I were anyway involved, I would have voted this hands down, man. It certainly is ultra embarrassing to hold this, wave it around in support of DAP or even be found to be in possession of this. The only thing it does not do is VIBRATE. Hahahaha

Disheartened

I have been so disheartened lately that all I want is to go away for an all inclusive holiday where nobody can kacau [bother] me. That's not all. An all-inclusive holiday will help me to rejuvenate myself and refresh my mind but it will also kill my piggy bank, that's why I am not going, unless somebody gives me a FREE All-inclusive holiday. Woot!

Whenever, I feel disheartened, what do I do? I start a new blog!!!!!!! GGGrrrrrrrrrr I do that to immerse myself with even more work. That was how I spent the past few nights to set up my blog, looking for themes, where I just won myself a free membership to a Premium WordPress Theme Club for a year, with full access to at least twelve premium WordPress themes with support. Well, that's great. I just need one theme right now, though! This membership may be US$5 only, but hey, I don’t believe in PAYING for ANYTHING!

Just now, logging into my Gmail account, I noticed that a legitimate email fell into my Spam Folder. A blog advertising marketplace has credited US$100 advertiser budget for me. Come to think of it, I also have US$100 from another marketplace, for months and months already and I still have not advertised any blog at all. I have so many blogs, I don’t know which to start. Besides, US$100 is not enough to run an effective campaign. And like my own blogs, most members already have their blogs sandboxed.

On another HOT note, if you are in Ipoh and would like to get a taste of the opposition ceramah this evening, Uncle Kit will be in Ipoh Garden South from 7.30pm. Besides this, he will also have three other ceramahs tonight elsewhere. Well, you will need to check up this information. That's what my friend told me, asking me to take some photos. Don't want la....I don't like crowds! I go shopping for laptop better!

Jenn Scott's Weekly Shorts

I am an avid reader but I am on such a tight work schedule that I am unable to even read a couple of pages a night before I fall asleep! That’s why I have not been able to read much except what could be found on the internet that I could read while take a little time off work.

Today, I was introduced to a blog by Jenn Scott, an aspiring writer who publishes her own Weekly Shorts in a blog. Jenn will publish a story every week and plans to compile them all and publish a book in the near future. Meanwhile, Jenn encourages her readers to leave comments and suggestions by proposing a name, a gender and a genre so that she can base her story on these.

I took the opportunity to read a story by Jenn called Dear God that was written in 2005 and entered into a writing competition. This is a story in a letter form, a letter written by an elderly to God.

I find the story full of emotions and “real”. I believe that this is a story that many of us can relate to because many a time, I am sure we have questioned God’s ways. Why would God do something that hurts us if He loves us? Why would He throw so many challenges to us to try to overcome, where we sometimes fail? Is this the way to strengthen our faith in Him and religion? I am stumped too.

Jenn mentioned that this story is a little long but I find that the length is not a problem as it is so easy to read and has a smooth flow hence it did not take me long to reach the end.

One thing I would like to point out is that, since this was a competition post, Jenn should double check her spelling.

Bombed

The last of my working blogs have been bombed a couple of days ago and I am still smarting. I know that it is inevitable but had hoped that the joyride will last a little longer. Hey, I've got bills to pay and mouths to feed but worst of all, debts to pay off and they are not even my own debts! To hell with ya, Goo!

Some jealous pot may have reported me and this issue has been prolonged since mid-2007. What can I say? Thank you for not bringing me down earlier.

The thing is, the spies are blind if they are so selective in who to bring down. I have see in blogs with worst content and yet they have been granted a new rank after beiing bombed while they continue to sell links.

And i have seen blogs that continued with this activity after seeking reconsideration, being paid higher now that they have a spanking new rank. Don't call me green eyed when all I ask is an equal hand on all of us paid to post publishers. Otherwise, Goo should just reinstate the green in our toolbars.

Made In China Cheap Quality Products

Part of my job scope is procurement and it is my duty to source for products that are of good quality, yet, cheap. That's one of the challenges of being in retail. If you can offer your customers quality products at a lower price than other stores, then you will have ready customers.

Although I have known that China is a major player in manufacturing, I have not been comfortable dealing with them because of my inability to communicate in the Chinese language, though Chinese people are beginning to use English in business and we can always hire a translator.

This morning, I was told of the B2B website at http://www.madeinchina.com/ where we can source for any product that is manufactured in China. Like I mentioned, when we can get quality goods at a lower cost, we have a winner on our hands already.

Although I have browsed though many similar B2B websites, this one is different because it is only for China manufacturers hence we do not have to go through listings of manufacturers from other countries which we have no interest in, in the first place.

With sixty thousand qualified Chinese suppliers, and over five hundred thousand product catalogues on this portal alone, I believe I will have a field day going through these products that are made in China. I will, of course, register an account with them once I have found a viable product!

iSurrender

Goodness gracious! I have spent the past four, or has it been five, days glued to the computer blogging and blogging and blogging away. My typical schedule was like this: blog, blog, blog, blog, blog, eat, blog, blog, blog. blog, sleep, blog, blog, sleep, eat, shit, blog, blog, blog. blog, blog, eat, blog, blog, blog, blog. The cycle went on and on like this. So, you get my drift.

Well, what to do? My computer did not even have a chance to shut down. This is what happens bila aku belum hit target lagi LOL. There is still a week to go, so we shall see.

The events these past few days just reminded me why I cannot afford to have any downtime in terms of computer hardware and internet connection and that is why it is so important to equip myself with a laptop, which I will be buying in the next couple of months.

Today, I am done blogging and I really squeezed out all my brain juice. My arms are aching and I am ready to go mental. I just need to get away for a short while. Where do you think I should go to? Cameron Highlands or Genting?

Time To Take Action

I am sure if you have been following my blog, you will know that I have gotten fat. I am not VERY fat but fatter than I like myself to be. Chinese New Year is over and there is no longer an excuse for me to not start my exercise regime. Well, what regime? I have no idea yet!!

I am one lazy pig and I hope that I can move my butt to get myself slim down before people start calling me "fei por" [fat woman]. GGrrrrr

My friend says, no need to exercise, just pop Orovo which is a kind of diet pill-cum-supplement. I would prefer to lose weight naturally, without taking any pills. Knowing myself, I will end up not remember to even pop pills.

Do you think that exercise alone can help me get into shape? Well, I don't want to build muscles, just shed some fat and get an hourglass shape.

Cosmetology Course At Regency Beauty Academy

My cousin has just finished high school and is looking for a course to pursue. I know how difficult it is when it comes to searching for a course that where our passion lies and which we will be working as our career.

She wanted to be a cosmetology and as far as I know, there is no such professional school here in Ipoh. Of course, I tried to seek more information for her because as an older "sister" I want the best for her as well. If that is what she wants to study then she will get to study from the best.

A friend told me about ohio cosmetology schools which students who want to study cosmetology are clamoring for places. Well, Regency Beauty Academy has thirty campuses across America. I think that to be able to expand to such a scale, they must be good. Don't you think so?

Edison Chen Sex Scandal Apology Video

Earlier this morning when I wrote the post on Edison Chen, I could not find the video yet. Well, now I have it, dug from YouTube. I really salute those people who have the patience to upload large video files to YouTube because I know that it is never easy and the videos, MY videos, turned out like crap EVERY TIME.

Anyway, for those of you who missed the Edison Chen sex scandal apology that was broadcast in the news, here is the video for you. I myself caught only a slight glimpse of it on TV and to have this full video freely available, I am really thankful to the one who recorded it and uploaded it online.

After having watched the earlier video of Edison Chen where he apologized for the hurt he has caused, I feel that this one is more genuine and he is truly sorry for the shit that happened. A lot of thought has been put into this press conference and I believe that the time that he has gone missing has been put into good news.

I also think that it is a good idea to step away from show business for a period of time. He is damn too popular right now and I believe most of us have had too much of him right now.

What do you think? Shall we forgive and forget and move on? Of course, we are not one of the victims so it is easy for us to forgive him! LOL

Fong Po Kuan Back To Contest Batu Gajah Parliamentary Seat

"Saudari" Fong Po Kuan's PMS is over and she has changed her mind about not contesting at the 12th General Election to defend her Batu Gajah parliamentary Seat. Well, what happened to her "final decision". Do you think that voters at her constituency will forgive her little girl behaviour and near-betrayal. We know what has happened, and what made her change her mind. What we know may be speculation and only she, her husband and God know the real picture.

If voters and DAP supporters are willing to vote for her and continue to back her despite everything then DAP will be able to retain a Parliamentary seat in BG. Well, like I mentioned in a previous post on the 12th Malaysian General Election, Kinta Valley has a very interesting political scene and there are many hot spots here, especially Ipoh Barat, Ipoh Timur and Batu Gajah Parliamentary Sears.

Whoever wins, I hope that these people's representatives will SPEAK up for the rakyat.

Do You Have Varicose Vein Problem?

Just as we have gotten sick and tired of Edison Chen, Edison Chen, Edison Chen, back he comes to Hong Kong, apologising to everyone for his sex photos, at least he did not deny that those were his, that those were taken by himself.

Anyway, he came back, high time loh, right? Besides admitting to these photos and apologising, he also says that he is quitting show business. Quit in Hong Kong/China only ar? Can still be a porn star in the Netherlands wor, can or not??

In time, no one will even remember who Edison Chen was, unless he comes out with a sequel lah, and then it's show time again. So everybody, this chapter has ended. We can now go back to our lives, OK??

Ugly Eagle

I saw this eagle at a garden accessories display exhibition and just took a photo of it for fun. I tell you, this one sure looks ugly! You know how some rich men love placing a pair of eagles at the pillars of their homes to show off or something. Well, feng shui wise, I am sure eagles signify something. Maybe prowess or strength, who knows?

At the exhibition, there was only ONE eagle that I could see. These things usually come in pairs mah. I forgot to check how much this one cost but it looks so ugly and fake would anyone buy it or not??

And look at the claws, like chicken claws only. I KNOW they are of the same "bird" species but who cares? Ugly is ugly!

In another minute, Chinese New Year will be officially over. So, how has it been for you? Chinese New Year has always been quiet for me, especially so after my paternal grandmother passed away. I don't know why but the family is definitely drifting apart.

Malaysia's 12th General Election

Are you ready for the 12th General Election? Are you a registered voter? Although I a not a political blogger and I hardly ever mention about current affairs in Malaysia, my family is very politically aware and I know that this will be a very interesting general Election.

Being a registered voter in the hot seat of Ipoh Timur, I feel like my TWO votes to the Parliamentary seat and State seat are so very important. Will the opposition continue to hold on to their seats here in Ipoh Timur and Ipoh Barat for the next five years or will the Barisan Nasional manage to wrest the seats away this time, seats that they lost in the previous General Election in 2004?

The Fong Po Kuan issue has given the whole General Election a new twist but let’s not go into reasons why she did what she did. There are a few theories, though! So let’s see if what she did will cause the DAP a Parliamentary seat in Batu Gajah.

No matter why she did what she did, I think that if one has to leave, then leave gracefully. Not like this and definitely not like Dr. Chua Soi Lek. And I am not only talking about politics!

Off To Washington D.C.

My sister told me that she is spending her birthday in Washington D.C. as she will be there for 3 days / 2 nights for work. She wasn't very happy even though she gets to travel, for one she has not been feeling very well for the whole of last year and also, she will be away from her fiancé and could not celebrate her birthday with him.

Aiya, I told her, birthday can be celebrated when she returns, ma, right? If I get to travel so much for work, I would be jumping for joy! But my kind of work no chance to travel wan. Stick at the computer all the time only. Bah!

Anyway, I wonder what she will be getting me from Washington D.C. this time. My sister buys me little souvenirs each city she goes to. Perhaps she knows that it would be great if I get to travel in her place but I have no such luck to get free vacations from my boss. BOO!

The soles of her feet also no mole wor... maybe after she went to the United States, grew a mole leh? Hehe.. must ask her first :D

Littered With Rose Petals

If you have been to wedding receptions, I am sure you have seen flowers everywhere. But I have been to receptions that did not have floral decorations at all, and somehow, the place does not feel as festive as it should. I think that it is a waste if the bridal couple thinks that they can save money by not getting flowers but it only spoils the ambiance. Why be stingy when one could buy wholesale roses cheaply?

There are a few places that sell wholesale flowers, besides roses, at low prices and they specialize in wedding flowers and arrangements. Florists like Fifty Flowers know just the kind of flowers you want at your wedding reception and you can be sure to get them freshly delivered in time for your reception.

I believe you would not want to get your flowers from a florist who does not have experience in delivering fresh flowers to wedding receptions and end up spoiling your once in a lifetime event, right??

Picture Frame Or What?

Is this a picture frame? No, it's not. It's actually an aquarium, a framed up aquarium. It looks so beautiful despite the fake fishes and plants, with the lights bubbles and swirling water. The only problem is that it looks like we cannot hang it up on the wall. Maybe it ie heavy, maybe the wiring does not make it convenient to he hung. A good way to display this would be to place it on top of he mantle or something.

I used to keep aquarium of fishes but the amount of work involved put me off the hobby. I do, however like to admire other people's beautiful and clean aquariums.

If I have my own home, I would definitely get something like this. It's clean and does not require any work. Don't tell me we have to open up the frame to clean inside? Bah!!!

Do You Miss Me?

A male friend of mine did not see me for the longest time and he asked me if I missed him. HHmm I wonder what he expects me to reply. That I missed him? Come on, he's already married and if I do miss him then there must be something wrong WITH ME.

I know that I get all sorts of such questions like, Do you miss me? Do you love me? because I am single. But really, there are not that many guys that I will miss at this point in my life. Sure, I will feel a loss sometimes if a friend is missing for a while due to work but that’s only because of an emotional attachment. And I don’t think I have any emotional attachments with married man.

Ewww SORRY!

There are however, a couple of guys that I will miss terribly if we don’t keep in touch for a looong while but the feeling passes, all the time. See, told you there’s something wrong with me!

What Wedding Gifts To Get?

When it comes to gift buying, I tell you, I am totally blur. Sometimes, the gifts I buy are based on what I would like to get. Sometimes it is not possible to get the best gift due to budget so what I do is to make the gift as meaningful as possible and one of the ways is to customize it.

One of the toughest gifts for me to decide on are Wedding Gifts. I mean, what should I get? I am not married and I don’t know what kind of wedding gifts would be meaningful. I get my wedding gift ideas from websites like The Wedding Channel and I try to see if they fit the bridal couples well.

Valentine’s Day was terrible. OK, it does not matter that I did not get any card or flowers, but I had to spend an obscene amount of money getting wedding gifts for friends who purposely chose to get married on Valentine’s Day!

Food Poisoning by Dragon Fruit

Whoa, last evening, I had the worst food poisoning of my life! You know, I ate one half of a dragon fruit and thirty minutes later, my stomach was upside down. There was so much wind that I promptly vomited the fruit and had to shit everything out. Hah... now I know what can cure me of constipation.

For a while there, I was thinking, my tummy was so painful that I was going to die, even but luckily, it was the tension from the wind that bloated my stomach that caused the pain.

Next time, scared liao, I am not going to eat anything "cold" after dinner. I know that my stomach is t that good anymore with the wrong meal times. I used to keep very strict meal times due to my gastric but work has been keeping me so busy from regular meals that I am snacking more. That's why I've grown fatter as well. Ackkkk

I'm So Totally Blur

You know how totally blur I am that I always try to "touch screen" my Nokia E61i because I keep switching it with my Apple iPhone and in the middle of the night, when my alarm rings, I am not even aware which phone I am using and I try to poke the screen to get the alarm to stop ringing so that I can continue to sleep LOL Oh, my poor Nokia!

But yesterday, I lagi blur. So I set my alarm clock at 6am. It rang, I jumped out of bed and promptly went to shut down my computer. SHUT DOWN is really not the proper word to use because I just pressed the button on my CPU! Haha! I never do that before and I always shut down my PC the proper way by going to the START button.

See I blur or not? How could I promptly go and switch off my computer like that?? Luckily, it is quite smart, you know, because I see that my programmes are saved properly even though the shut down was improper. haha I hope it never happens again! Don't want my hard disk to suffer LOL

Staying At Karisma Hotel

Where do people usually go on honeymoons? A friend of mine who recently got married on Valentine's Day told me that she has made a reservation at the Karisma Hotel and I was like, "Where?"

She showed me the website of Karisma hotel group and I am so impressed with the beautiful beaches! I believe that my friend has made the right choice in choosing this as her honeymoon. I wonder who told her about it in the first place. I am sure that she will certainly feel the lovey dovey ambiance honeymooning here because the place has a romantic feel. I don’t know why, perhaps it’s the setup and decoration of the hotels and resorts?

Also, Karisma has a resort especially for adults who love going au natural. It’s luxurious and secluded so there is no fear of privacy being invaded. I BET my friend’s reservation is at this particular resort. Haha!

It's A Brand New Day

No matter how the previous day seemed, a new day will always come and that makes yesterday look not that bad at all. You know, when you are so stressed out with work, it is better to shut everything away and SLEEP!

The morning will come and you will feel better, more refreshed and ready to tackle the say's task. The problem with me is that I always want to finish ALL my work for the day and not carry forward anything because new day bring new work and then I will feel overwhelmed and blame myself for not working hard enough the day before.

Last night, I was so stressed out, I was ready to vomit. My friend says that I "vomit" all the time and should carry a bucket with me where ever I go. I know, he's only joking but it's not funny also!

I think I need to learn stress management but it does not help if I do not change my lifestyle. I jumped out of bed at 6am this morning to work but I am really feeling half dead now and it is not even 8am right now!!

OMG I'm SO Tired I Could Collapse

What a long day it has been for me today. You know, I woke up at 6am this morning and have not had the chance to lie down for a moment to rest. I need to rest my eyes as well but sorry, no chance. I went to the mall just now just to get some leg stretch and exercise but all I could think of is the work that I could be doing instead of walking around aimlessly at the mall. Actually, not aimlessly, because I went to buy supper! But you get my drift....

My friend asked me, don't I feel tired keeping such long hours? And I will question him back, "You cannot see how charn I am already meh? Summore need to ask?"

Really, sometimes I wish that I do not have to push myself so but if I don't work to the maximum now, then when can I retire? I told Paul that I want to retire at 40 years old. Well, that doesn't seem that far away now that I think of it but heh, that is a good target to keep even if it is unrealistic.

I want to get married and retire. Can ah?? Fatty says I am too fierce and nobody wants me. :(

A few days ago, my cousin asked me if I know of any good Balance Transfer Cards. Honestly, once I did my research and applied for the credit cards that I want, I stopped checking what credit cards that are available. I mean, there ARE so many, how could I possibly keep up? I thought that I would once again read up on credit cards only if I wanted to apply for a new card.

Anyway, I told my cousin to do his own homework because I can’t tell him which card is good and which is not because it basically is based on his own usage and I am sure you know, everyone uses the credit card differently.

In any case, I informed him of Credit Card Search Engine and told him that he could easily compare credit cards and then he could apply from the site directly once he has made up him mind. Knowing him, he would be back to ask me for help in applying for the credit card.

How Much For A Laptop?

How much should I set aside for the laptop that I intend to buy? I don't even know. Is RM3K - RM4K too expensive? RM3500 seems to be the norm, right? I am not even seeking a great machine, but just one that is fast and could multi-task without lagging, hanging or heating up.

And what brand should I get? Acer seems to be the most popular brand in Malaysia, the number one brand in the country, if not mistaken. It most probably is because of the price.

However, my friend told me that if I could afford it, I should buy a better brand. Which is a better brand that would not break my budget and what should my budget be?

RM1K Down

I went to the vet a couple of days ago to buy a bottle of supplements for my monkey. I came home and only realized that this is the fourth bottle already and each bottle cost me RM270- - RM280 for three months worth of supply.

And I was like, "Whoa... this means I already spent more than RM1K on his supplement." My vet told me that if I do not see an improvement or if my monkey's condition deteriorates then I should double his dosage. Eeekkk that means my expenditure would double as well.

Really, keeping senior pets is never easy on the pockets. Besides buying his medication, I also bought RM70 worth of food for my other monkey. You see, both of them take different food due to their health conditions. The other monkey's food will cost me another RM140 per 7Kg pack.

Aiyo.. I hope that I can keep up with their expenses and not force them to compromise on the quality of their diet or medication.

My friend Markus told me that he went to Sea World and I said, “Not again?” LOL That is because Markus has been there umpteen time and still not bored with the place.

Markus told me that it is a great to visit the many attractions in Florida each time he visits his grandparents because he could get tickets for cheap, like the discounted Seaworld Tickets. Well, I never asked him how cheap or what percentage lower he got the tickets for!

Orlando Fun Tickets is a good place to start looking for your cheap tickets to many places of interest in Florida, Sea World being one of them. Personally, I would not go to these places if I cannot get cheaper tickets! Who would want to pay full price knowing that there are cheap tickets which also allows entry into these places, right?

RM6 Hair Clip

The other day, I went past a store that sells accessories and I bought a few hair clips, the most expensive being RM6, after a 50% discount. In fact, all of their products are sold at 50% off.

I would not say that RM6 is cheap already because it isn't and it is not even something that I usually would buy. I mean, RM6? I'd only usually pay RM2 but this one is really nice. However, I could not even use it to clip my hair properly because my hair is simply too long and thick. You won't want to know how many hair clips I broke and how many more fell into the toilet bowl. Yes, INTO the toilet bowl so I never bothered to rescue them! EEEkkk

So I was feeling extravagant and I bought it and when I came home and showed my dad happily, I told him, "This clip less 50% already and I bought it at RM6." And you know what my dad said? He said, "This clip made in China wan. Over there 50 sen each only ma."

Cheh.. what an anti-climax!

Day Only

Paul asked me if I were willing to go to a holiday with him for the weekend. I was like... er.... for a few hours yes, but not for a few days or even nights. He wants my parents to kill me meh? They are so conservative, if I spent the night away from my house with a guy, they will straight away jump to conclusion that I have done it with this guy.

I mean, DUH, they don't give me any respect, right?

Whatever it is, I don't think I can go away with him for the night. I do trust myself but it's him and other guys that I don't trust. I'm not saying that I'm so captivating that they lose self-control but you never know. Even your closest friend may set you up.

In any case, I told him that with two monkeys to care for by myself, I won't be going anywhere anytime with him soon, day nor night.

Las Vegas seems to be a very glamorous glittery city where all the happening people go there to see and be seen. They are part of the things that make Las Vegas such an attraction as well.

Last year, I was invited to Vegas but I didn’t take up the offer but that did not stop me from doing a little research on what to see in Las Vegas. No Updates?

My friend asked me why I did not update my blog. I was like, "HUH?? Got update maaaa." That just shows that he has not been to my blog lately. SIGH.... then why pretend that he read my latest post?

Actually, not only am I updating my blog regularly, I am even thinking of revamping it. And the first thing to do would be to change a new template. What do you think?

The problem is that with the new Blogger I am really lost and don't even know where to start or what to do. Of course, I already read instructions and I even set up a Blogger blog to test my new templates but they don't work well. Maybe I should just use a classic Blogger template? But they are not as nice as those XML ones, don't you think so?

I don't know, I am just so busy today and tomorrow that I don't even have time to search for Blogger templates. I did it last night until 3am but could not find anything nice. SIGH!

Waiting For PC Fair

My goodness, it is only just February, and I am already waiting for PC Fair which is expected to be held in mid-April or some time there. I am so lucky that PC Fair is always held near my house so I don't even need to go across town to the Fair. In fact, I could even walk thee but I never do LOL

Well, the thing is, I am so looking forward to it this time, especially this time, because I am going to look for a laptop. I know I say this all the time but this time I think I cannot defer any longer or I get extremely agitated and stressed out when my computer is down.

So yeah, I am going to buy one but I don't have any idea what to get or whatever. I wish there's someone to BUY it for me and leave me with no choice buy to USE it. Of course, BUY with my money lah LOL

Need Hair Cut Badly

If you know me personally, you will know that my hair is too damn long. I wanted to get a haircut before Chinese New Year but was so busy that I was late and they raised RM5. RM5 extra for a hair cut just because it was close to Chinese New Year? No way was I going to pay that!

I was told that we should not get a hair cut during Chinese New Year so now I will have to wait till after Chap Goh Meh. I hope that by then, the rates would have been readjusted. Bah... How long has it been since I got a hair cut until my friend questioned if I do not have enough money for a haircut LOL Crazy meh? No time ma.

I am even thinking go if getting a perm but I am such a cheapo, RM5 extra also refused to pay, do you think I will perm it? Besides the cost, perming will make me look years older. Chey, I already look older than I actually am no thanks to all the late nights I keep. Sumore want to look older meh??

All Those Rotten Mandarin Oranges

Did you notice that there seem to be more leftover mandarin oranges? Why? This year's business is so slow that they cannot sell meh? I don't know if it is slow or what because I see people giving boxes of mandarin oranges away as "buah tangan" compared to previous years where people will just give like 6, 8 or 10 oranges only.

How many BOXES of oranges did you get? My family received three boxes and with only four adults at home, that's way too much already.

If you go to the supermarket now, I am sure you can see there are so many leftovers which are opened from boxes and sold by weight now but with most of them either dried up or already grown fungus who wants to buy though I still see shoppers selecting the best out of the lot. I wonder if they are going to eat them or what? Can fall sick wan woh....

Refreshing and Eye-Opening

My sister’s colleague went to Denver over the weekend and picked up a copy of the highly popular Denver Magazine to read in the car. When she returned, she passed it to my sister. My sister tells me that this magazine is very informative especially for people planning to visit Denver either for a vacation or on business. This magazine has many feature articles on what do in Denver and to make the best of our stay there no matter what.

Although my sister has no plans to visit Denver anytime soon, since she is going to Washington D.C. this coming week, she said that reading the magazine is refreshing and eye-opening. Having never been to Denver, yet, after reading the articles, my sister says that it would be great to get a holiday break there to see for herself what she has read in the articles.

Denver must be a very interesting city, to hear my sister says that she wants to go there considering that she does not like to travel anymore as it disrupts her meal times and upsets her stomach.

Lee Jun Kee, We Love You

Some of you may know that I recently went to watch a dance performance by a Chinese dance troupe. What a surprise it is that one of the male dancers look exactly like Lee Jun Kee, the Korean actor. If you have watched The King and the Clown, you would know who I am talking about. My God, that guy looks more beautiful that a real woman!

On the last day of the performance, I managed to get a front row seat and yes, you can bet that I took lots of photos. Unfortunately, not all of them turned out well because I still don't know how to take pictures of moving objects.

Burn Midnight Oil

I told my friend, Paul, that I have to "drive night car" and he asked me, "Who is driving? If you are not, then take the chance to get a cat nap loh."

Haha, isn't he funny? I said so because it means that I have to stay up late to work and if I had taken the nap, how am I supposed to get my work done? If I were like him and could delegate my work, then good lah but I am not my own boss like him.

My friends have already told me that all these late nights will only hurt my health in the end but what could I do when I have tasks to complete? I know that there are sometimes work that could be left for the morning but I did not and continued to push myself until my work is done before I could call it a day but a new day will bring new task and it is not like me to do tomorrow what I could do today.

I think I need to change my attitude towards work or I would be working myself to death. What do you think? Would it be better for me to complete my work whatever I could do today or wait till tomorrow and pile up my work? I will feel stressed out worrrrr

Kona kava is an extremely popular drink right now but I only recently discovered that this is Fiji’s national drink. I didn’t know that a country can have a national drink. I wonder what Malaysia’s national drink is.

Anyway, this is also highly popular in Hawaii where kava kava is abundantly grown. Perhaps it is because of the fertile ground that makes it grow so well. Hawaii and Fiji are both islands, so maybe that’s why.

HHmm looking at the recipes makes my mouth water. Although I have not had Kava before, I read that it is good for our health especially in reducing stress. Lydia Shum [Shum Din Ha] Dies At 60

The ultra popular all-round Hong Kong entertainer Lydia Shum or also known by her Chinese name, Shum Din Ha has died. She has been suffering from liver cancer and I guess even with her money, she could not able to kill off the cancer.

Lydia leaves behind her beloved daughter, Joyce Cheng, 21 years old. Joyce is the daughter of Adam Cheng, whom Lydia was married to for a while a long time ago,

Isn't it scary to know that Lydia was only 60 years old? Shell Kepler was only 49.... with sickness, we can GO anytime!

I know that many of us who watch Cantonese dramas and entertainment shows will miss her dearly. Who can forget her extremely shrill laugh and boisterous, infectious laugh? Just hearing her laugh will get you into a laughing fit as well.

And if you remember, for those entertainment shows that she hosted, each time she gets into a laughing mode, she will declare that she needs to go to the toilet to piss! Life with her must not have had a boring moment, I guess.

Lydia Shum will be missed dearly by the Chinese community the world over, and especially by people who know her personally.

My Pick

Last night, Paul called me up and we chatted for an hour. One of the things he asked me was if it is possible for me to go on a weekend vacation with him. Of course I said no. My parents will kill me, man!

But seriously, it is so tempting to just get away perhaps for the weekend or longer. Paul said that it would be fun if we could go somewhere like Phuket which is close to me or Hilton Head Island which is closer to him.

Did you see the pictures of Hilton Head rental properties that are available for vacationers? Boy, I tell you, it's just so tempting to pack my bags and go.

I keep telling myself, though, that I have too many commitments and responsibilities to shoulder that I can't just up and go but I know that one day I will have to place my own interests and sanity above everything else.

How Many Chinese New Year Greeting Cards Did You Get?

I mean the real card. The red ones that come with pink envelopes, I mean. I didn't get any. Isn't that sad? That shows what an outcast I am. Perhaps some people thought that I am no longer around because I have been too quiet.

The act giving and receiving cards is like blogging. You give me one and I give you one in return. Just like I comment on your blog and you comment on mine. Well, it has been a few years since I did not send out any cards physically because I don't even know where my friends are anymore. I do know their email addresses, though and do send cards to a select few. Ah, they should be so honoured!

With the convenience of SMS text messages, who even bothers to send out real cards anymore?

I did, however, receive a New Year card from my long time pen-pal who sent it so that it reaches me in time for Chinese New Year. Ah, he is ever so thoughtful!

Valentine's Day Blues

Well, Valentine's Day is just over and I tell you, many people get depressed just because of it! Did you know that Bai Ling was so depressed over a bad break up just before Valentine's Day that she stole items worth $16 from a convenience store in LA airport? Really, love or the lack of it, makes us do crazy things!

A male friend of mine was chatting with me last night and he told me that being single after a certain age is not easy. Everyone would be whispering behind his back questioning his sexuality. Well, I can sympathize with that!

However, my friend says that he has registered himself with an online dating portal and hopes that he will meet a lot of Russian women and hopefully marry one before the year is over.

It is said that good things come to those who wait and I certainly hope that he will get what he wants.

What & Where Would I Have Studied?

Last night, I was chatting with my friend, Fatty, and he asked me what I would have studied if I were to attend college. And where would I want to go? Fatty knows that I did not have the opportunity to continue my tertiary education and I do have hang ups about it because I know that I can be a better person with the extra few years of education.

I could probably put myself through college now but time does not permit me anymore and I have new commitments and responsibilities to shoulder.

But to answer Fatty, I told him that I would have studied marketing. Where, I don't know. I remember writing in to so many colleges back then and in fact, I still have brochures from Westwood College, a college in Chicago, Illinois.

I also remember that I wrote in to another Chicago college but I cannot remember the name anymore. Fatty asked me why I selected an Illinois college. Well, I don't know. It's cheaper than attending college in Malibu, I guess.

I'm Upset

Just now, I was upset and I told a friend that I was upset and I was upset because I stumbled upon a blogger who wrote something about me, without referring to me but I know that he referred to me because he pointed out something that I wrote just earlier today and it is too coincidental.

So my friend asked me, why am I upset? Is this person somebody to me? Someone important to me or just a blogger whom I got to know from blogging?

Seriously, the reason that I do not mix with bloggers is because there are just too much back stabbing and stealing of blog ideas. I've had people linking to my post in his post and then subsequently removing the link [or source] as if the idea was entirely his.

I've had people stealing my blog idea by twisting my story and write an exactly opposite post than mine but the timing was, like today, just too coincidental.

Well, like my friend said, these sort of small people, don’t have to care about them la, let alone be upset by them. Come to think of it, he is right. I don’t even need to be upset about it but I will be more careful about this person and people who are closed to him.

Learning To Love Our Self First

2008 is pretty special because it is a leap year, and this date has been chosen for the release of Penelope, a heart-warming movie that is supposedly a comedy that will also bring tears to your eyes.

Can We Defy Time Or Age?

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote that my neighbor was sent to a nursing home by her family. it was most unfortunate because this old couple live alone and when the wife was sent to the nursing home, well, he is all alone at home. We, the neighbors, try to help as much as we could but we are not family, how much can we do?

Anyway, I learnt that this old lady is already eighty years old and I was surprised because she certainly does not look eighty! The most I would give her would be seventy and not a day older, based on her looks alone. However, I know that she is not so young because she has been living here like, FOREVER. She was here, with children, even before I was born. In fact, her children are a lot older than us.

I wonder if she is using any anti-aging products because if she is, it is really so effective. If not, then I will have to put it down to excellent genes. Genes that most of us could only wish for!

Why Chinese Companies Cannot Last Long

There is the saying that Chinese companies cannot last longer than three generations. How true do you think this is? I don't know but compared to a lot of major brand names that we know today that have lasted for generations after generations, I feel that Chinese need to learn from these people how to better manage a company.

One of the issues that I think is that Chinese need to have a succession plan and then implement it. I know that bosses of larger companies would usually groom one or two close, trusted people to lead the company when something happens to the "boss".

When you see that some companies can flourish so well while most others fall by the wayside, hmmm sometimes you just wonder what "trick" they have.

Do You Feel Relaxed At All?

So we are still in the midst of Chinese New Year holidays and instead of having a chance to rest and relax, I get more stressed out instead. Aiyo, with relatives and my parents' friends streaming in and out at all hours, and all the noise! Each time, I would have to lock my monkeys in my room and they would make a ruckus. Beh tahan.

I'm just so thankful that my mom does not play mahjong. She knows how to play, though, but she does not indulge in it like other ladies in the neighborhood and I am sure you know how irritating the noise from the knocking tiles could be. Bah!

I wished the holidays were over FOR THEM so that they do not come and kacau us LOL I tell you, I cannot rest, I cannot work! I wanna go away on a holiday but my monkeys how?

If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I have put on weight that I have already outgrown a couple of pair of pants. That was how I realized that I have put on weight in the first place and I blame it on my parents for stuffing me with food.

I lamented to a friend of mine and told her that this Chinese New Year is definitely not help what with all the New Year delicacies tempting me. But I know I have to be pro active about reducing my weight or I would just continue to balloon and it would be very tough to reduce my weight then.

Choy Sun - The God of Prosperity

This morning, I wished my friend, Kung Hei Fatt Choy! And she asked me where is Choy Sun?

Last evening, I was a at nearby kopishop and there was an elderly man dressed up in Choy Sun costume, including beard and boots and he was going around "giving" out small pink cards printed with auspicious sayings.

The people who were there dining and the stall holders, when given this card, were quick to return the "goodness" by giving a nominal amount of RM1. You know Chinese la, they are very afraid to "owe" people especially on the first day of Chinese New Year. That's why they would rather pay for the card for RM1 rather than get it for free.

When the Choy Sun takes the RM1 per card, it means that the card has been bought/sold and it's no longer free and the recipient no longer owes him anything.

Well, I think that this fake Choy Sun is very innovative and creative and business minded too. Luckily age is on his side. Who dares to wallop Choy Sun on Chinese New Year?

The Missing Gold Chain

When my grandmother passed away a few years back, my aunt, who lived with her, told us that y grandmother had a gold chain with a diamond pendant but she could not find it anywhere.

Surprisingly, last week, my aunt told us that she stumbled upon the gold chain while cleaning up the house for Chinese New Year. I didn't even have time for Spring cleaning, Hah!

Don't you think that it is always like this: When you want to look for something, no matter how you turn the house over, it just can never be found but when you have given up and ever finding it, and have even forgotten about it, it turns up right smack under your nose?

It happens all the time to me so I can understand what my aunt went through. In fact, I was deployed to help her with the search back then because she said she wants the gold chain for sentimental reasons.

Anyway, whenever I failed to look for a missing item within a reasonable time frame, I would just "sleep on it" and hope it will turn up by itself!

Modern Furniture Preferred

I was at a furniture exhibition recently and my father told me that I should get a Ming Dynasty style office desk. Well, I do need an office desk for my Small Office Home Office, which is just a partition off my room. My room has enough space for me to set up a corner for serious work and besides my computer workstation, I thought that I would place a large office desk also.

Well, despite my father's suggestion of getting an antique styled desk, I think it would be totally out odd to have an antique furniture amongst my modern furniture. Well, it would be different if I were to change all my current furniture to antique style but then I am not prepared to splash too much money on decorating my room because this is my parents' house.

I would rather do use the money to decorate my own house when I do own one, right?

Watching My Favorite Movies

My friend, Soo, invited me to his house for Chinese New Year. I don't remember if I wrote this before but he recently built a very large house. I will not call it a bungalow because it has an upper floor while a bungalow, if you check the dictionary, only has the ground floor.

Anyway, he has a state-of-the-art home theater system built too in a sound-proof room and he said that I could bring my favorite DVDs over to watch, since he knows that I won't enjoy his DVD collection.

I wonder if he has bought one of the home theater popcorn machines that I told him about. It would be awesome to make our own popcorns and enjoy them while watching movies, just like in a cinema.

Of course, he may think that having a popcorn machine at home would be too indulgent but I don't know, he may just surprise me!

I Don't Play Golf

My friend, Jason, has to move to another place due to work and he said that he can't take all his personal effects with him since he will be renting a room. He said he does not want to hold a garage as he did not want to sell his personal possessions due to sentimental value.

He wanted to give me his prized Mizuno golf set but I said I don't play golf, I don't know how to play it and have no intention to learn how to play it.

He then asked me to help him keep it in my house. Aiya, do you think that I should agree? My house is already like a dumping ground for my relatives. They seem to cart whatever they don't want to my house to keep just because my parents own the house and it is slightly larger than other houses.

These people always say, "Aiya, you house has so much space!" Does that mean that we MUST keep your stuff here then? I would rather help him keep something that I could use while in my safekeeping LOL

Game Over

Last night, I wished my friend, Kung Hei fatt Choy, hung pau tow loi" via SMS and he replied, "No hung pow" and I said, "then when got?" He replied, "Never" woh... yerrrr why like that? He said, "No girlfriend is like this ga lah..."

Aiya... just a couple of months ago, he was so happy with his girlfriend and they celebrated his birthday together and now he tells me he does not have a girlfriend anymore? So fast wan??

I remember slightly more than a year ago, he was so happy and announced to me that he now has a girlfriend. I was happy for him too and sometimes, to make small talk, I would ask him where did he go today and he would say he went to his girlfriend's' house in a small town quite a distance away to watch TV wor...

I also saw him and his girlfriend taking supper one day at a kopishop and they looked happy enough. Now, no more wor. Game over liao :(

What Do You Want?

I asked my sister what she wants for her birthday. I thought of buying her something pink. Maybe a watch or something that is pink in color. I remember I did bought her a plastic watch that was pink in color and full of hearts some years back when she just left for the United States.

Having a birthday so near to Valentine's Day, we can buy one gift and treat it as a Valentine's Day and birthday gift. So we can afford to spend a little more on that one gift.

Do you know what my sister says she wants? She asked for a Bedat watch for ladies. OK, I nearly fainted for a moment.

I did not know that she has acquired a taste for fine watches! Maybe I will just give her some cash and ask her to top up the balance for her favorite Bedat!

Jewelry From One Generation To Another

My friend was telling me that he does not like wearing jewelry but he sees the potential in investing in precious metals like gold and silver. Similarly, I cannot wear silver without tarnishing it but I also have silver jewelry which was given to me by my grandmother.

Even back then, my late grandmother saw the potential in silver and gold and the value of these has increased over the years. Of course, I would not be offloading the jewelry just yet because the demand for precious metal has continued to rise and the price of my silver and gold will also rise according to market value.

If I have spare cash right now, I too would want to spend a little money to invest more on precious metals. My friend told me that I could still be in time if I buy now. What do you think?

Hung Pau Na Lai

My friend, Fatty, asked me if I am ashamed to collect angpows at my age. Cheh, cannot meh? As long as I am still single then I am still eligible for angpows, OK? It really has nothing to do with age but a "lei see" that is supposed to enhance the luck of the recipient and I guess singles sure NEED that luck.

A friend of mine who is already almost sixty years old and what people term as "diamond bachelor" still accepts angpows. And why not? He says that as long as people give him, he will accept.

The best thing is that he does not have to face these angpow givers because he lives overseas so these people who knew him a long time already would just leave these angpows with his mother. And not only that, he even received more angpows than me! Maybe it is because I don't go and "pai nien" lah.

Well, single people should have no qualms about receiving angpows. It is better than those people who are already married and then pretend they are still single just so that they can pocket the angpows. Yerrrr like that also can....

The Perfect Pink Gift

Is there a girl out that who does not like the color pink? My sister and simply love pink and you should see our bedroom when we were still sharing a room! However, now that she has her own house, she has been indulging in her favorite hobby of collecting pink decorative items and buy cute pink clothes that are way too expensive and would not even fit her, and then she would pass it over to me. Hah!

I am sure you are aware that Valentine's Day is just around the corner and every guy is already planning for planning what gifts to give to their partner. The other day, I was at the mall and I saw so many pink soft toys. Have you ever seen pink elephant soft toys? Well, now is the season to see these!

Well, my sister’s birthday is at the end of this month and I have been looking for pink gifts for her. It would be special because I know that I would never go wrong with pink and as long as it is pink in color, she would keep it and not return to the store!

What should I get, do you think? I was told of House of Cool, which is an online gift store that sells everything PINK! They have such a wide range of gifts, I will need time to go through them all and buy the one that would be most useful to her.

Of course, I would not be so silly as to tell her about the store or there would not be a surprise anymore. I guess I will be having a busy day later today selecting the perfect pink gift for my sister’s birthday!

Ushering Into The New Year!

If you are a Chinese, do you like to watch TV programmes that are on the 12 animal signs, and what the New Year brings to each animal sign? Do you like to watch TV programmes or read up on the feng sui of the New Year?

No matter how I try not to get caught up in all these fortune telling for the whole year in relation to my date of birth, I inevitably WILL be glued to the TV if I know when these shows are aired, mostly on the first and second days of Chinese New year.

No matter how I try to be modern and tell myself that all these are "bluff", I would be reading up on the horoscopes on the internet when I come across a post on the forum. Yeah, I guess, once a Chinese, always a Chinese. I can't run away from my own superstitious-ness even though I know that half of the things we go through in life is already destined.

But hey, there is no harm trying to better our luck, ma, right? Given a choice, if you can rectify the bad stuff in life, won’t you want to do that? Call it psychology, but I am sure if there is something that could be done that is not very difficult to do, that promises to enhance our luck, I am sure that we would do it, right?

So I guess, tomorrow, I will be channel surfing LOL
