Why Buy Mexican Car Insurance?

Living in the United States for almost six years now, my sister has adopted the Americans' culture of taking long road trips. Before this summer past, she has been to many places but not out of the country. Her colleague, who went over to Mexico from their state, Tennessee told her that they have to by Mexican auto insurance especially for the duration of their trip.

My sister was surprised as she thought that their existing American auto insurance is also valid in Mexico buy apparently it is not. The colleague was lucky in the sense that she found out that she could buy her Mexican car insurance online even at the last minute by going to the website of the Mexican Insurance Store.

All she had to do was to input her vehicle information and once she gets her insurance quote online, pay with her credit card and print out the policy from her screen. She could even seek the assistance of Live Support.

According to this lady, if she was not as pressed for time, she could have requested for a free instant online quote so that she can compare with other companies. However, she was still satisfied that she managed to get what she needs ay a reasonable price and most importantly, without the hassle that could have delayed her trip.

This is a lesson learnt. If you ever thought of driving from the United States to Mexico, remember, you need separate insurance for your car.

Free Handbag - Who Wants?

I just came across a blog link baiting contest on Scribble Scratch with a handbag up for grabs. People who know me in real life know that I never carry any bag when I am out. The last bag I ever carried was my school bag. Since then, the only bags I carry are plastic bags when I am shopping. Ha!

There was once I went out with a friend and he was surprised that I was without a handbag because he was used to helping girls carry their bags when they go to the ladies or something. I guess it is true when my friend disputed my statement that I am a “less frills” girl and said that I am a frill-less girl instead.

So what am I doing participating in a handbag contest? Let's just say I know someone who would appreciate such a gift should I win. So wish me good luck ;-)

Popularity of Permanent Eye Makeup

My American friend told me that there is a new procedure that is very popular among the ladies called Permanent eye makeup. She said that this is the perfect solution for me, someone who does not have the time to apply make up every morning, and even if I have the time, I do not know how to bring out my best features.

And she said, it is like a crime going out with a bare face, worsen by my Chinese eyes! Well, what can I say, I AM Chinese!

That was why she said that by applying permanent colors to my eyebrows and eye lashes as if I have applied real make up, is what I need. She said that this procedure lasts from one to five years and I won't even have to buy any make up for my eyes anymore! Ahhh that is liberating!

I am of course going to do some more research on permanent eye makeup. It sure sounds interesting!

How Long Have I REALLY Looked Into A Mirror?

I am not even sure. I don't even have time to brush my hair anymore, like I mentioned a couple of times. I was out shopping when a few ladies who set up a booth stopped me to promote their new facial treatment. I KNOW I have bad skin and I am guilty of not caring for it enough. Heck, I'd be grateful to use that little bit more time caring for my skin to SLEEP. Resting can improve the skin as well, can't it?

They were telling me that I really need a facial treatment and they are having a promotion for MYR39 only. That's cheap, isn't it? Not that I know the market rate, but they said that this promotion is only valid for thirty people and well, I was interested because I do really NEED one, I KNOW but I was thinking, here I am working three jobs, where can I spare the time to go to a beauty saloon?

They said, never mind, I could book a place first and then call up for an appointment and even issued a voucher in my name and then ASKED ME TO PAY MYR39. I was like, "I don't have MYR39 with me now!"

Actually, I went to the mall to buy only one thing specifically which cost MYR30 and I only have MYR35 with me. I do have my bank card with me but I did not want to go upstairs where the ATMs are since the mall was about to close for the night.

So I already paid for my purchase MYR30 and only have MYR5 in my purse and they were still telling me to pay whatever cash I have. But I only have MYR5 (!) and they wanted ALL. Of course I did not tell them I have the card. Imagine if I were taking a taxi home or something, I wouldn't even have any cash on myself.

Whoa, they NEED business that bad, huh?

Shopping With Virtual Credit Cards

Since I regular shop online, my friend told me that I should not risk my credit card information and recommended me to use a virtual prepaid credit card instead. He said that these virtual prepaid VISA cards are very secure and discreet. Nobody can track our purchases. PLUS our money is protected because we can control the amount of money we load to our card but financial risk is very limited because there is a maximum limit on the amount that we can load.

According to my friend, who uses such a card for buying things online and paying for the purchase or domain names and web hosting, the virtual prepaid VISA cards are accepted wherever real VISA credit cards are. So it is very convenient.

Apart from this virtual card, WWWCard, which stands for World Wide Wallet Card, also has the WWWgiftcard, which is a virtual gift card preloaded with the amount that you have purchased for. You then give this card as a gift and your recipient will get to make purchases from any online store that accepts VISA.

My friend says that because these are virtual cards, delivery is immediate. Wow! I remember waiting for a MONTH for my credit and debit cards to arrive in the mail! I think I will get a card, if only to protect my accounts which are linked to my credit and debit cards.

Out of Shape

One evening I was out shopping when I chanced upon an old school mate. She did not notice me so I escaped. Hahaha! Anyway, I was with my dad and she was with her husband and I told my dad, this woman was my school mate, same year as me.

Then do you know what my dad remarked? He said, "Out of shape already wor!" Ahdoi! Why are all men like this??? I don't think she has a kid yet though and as far as I remember, she has been this shape forever even during school days.

And you know what? It's kind of weird that you can NOT come into somebody for ages and then when you do see him/her, you stumble into the person a few times consecutively? It happened with Wendy a couple of months ago and now this old schoolmate too!

Autumn Break In London

My cousin, Jasmine, invited me to London for an autumn break. One thing that amuses me is that westerners MUST always take a vacation every single season. So Jasmine has been living in London for the past six years and has adopted their ways.

I don't know when I would be able to get away but I did tell her that it would be a good idea to visit her after so many years and of course, who can go to London without SHOPPING??

Since my schedule is so unpredictable, I thought I would just check out hotel websites that would allow last minute bookings. I came across Hotel Shop at http://www.hotelshopuk.com/ that allows travellers to book a room in hotels across the United Kingdom at the last minute. On top of this, they are also able to find the best deals for us too, saving us up to 70% off published room rates. That's great news because more savings means more money to shop!

Anyway, I browsed through Hotel Shop just to have an idea of what accommodation options I have and I figured it is better for me to put up somewhere near the shopping district. Jasmine recommends Abba Queens Gate Hotel which is situated in the Royal Borough and near all those shopping places that I have only heard of before; Knightsbridge, Harrods and Kensington High Street.

I think I better work harder and save more money. London, here I come, maybe!

Don't Post For 24 Hours

I recently came across a review opportunity in a local blog advert company and one of the requirements is that the review has to be the first post on the blog for a full 24 hours. If we decided to take it up, we were not supposed to publish anything else for the next 24 hours. Not blog for 24 hours? Somebody's gotta be kidding, right?

It would have been easy to take up this opportunity if one is using a self-hosted blog where the review post could be stick-ied for one full day but then for blogs like mine, ermmm and for a NON-paying post, no way, man.

I don't like to be told WHEN I can or cannot post because I blog ALL the time, it is just a matter of publishing the posts or not. I can choose to publish or not to publish but don't tell me if I CAN or CANNOT publish.

Bah.. for a post like that, I would only take it if it pays above $100 to make up for all the lost opportunities but then this company ISN'T even going to pay, in cash, I mean. And Cash is king, in case they do not know.

Doggie Birthday Gift From The Internet Pet Emporium

You probably already know that I love animals, especially dogs. However, it still surprised me the other day when I received an SMS text from a friend saying that she is throwing a birthday party for her puppy. I mean, there's showing love for the pet and there's going overboard doing so. Don't you think so?

BUT I AM STILL GOING! hehehe

Anyway, I thought I would get the birthday doggie a gift, although at the back of my mind, I still think that is excessive but I am not going to go empty handed, just in case!

I went to this site called Internet Pet Emporium, an online pet supplies store, to check out what options I have. I am clueless since I have never bought a doggie gift before but then there's always a first time, right?

Truly, this Internet Pet Emporium is a real pet emporium. It is surprising that I could get such a wide range of pet supplies. After much consideration, though, I have narrowed down my options to dog dens or fleece coats. I have seen quite a few dogs in my neighborhood in dog clothing and I think they are rather cute so that is a good choice.

Den or clothes? I think I will sleep on this for a few days first before making a decision.

I Am A Princess Too!

The other day, I was chatting with a friend and we said that royalties do not have to work and I said that I don't want to work too. He said, "Don't work lah, you are also a royal, what!"

Well, he was mocking me but another friend calls me an "indoor princess" so he was not that far off the mark!

I recall the Korean drama, Goong, in the first or second episode when Yoon Eun Hye threw a shoe at the back of the Prince and everyone was aghast, and went like, "BUT HE IS A PRINCE!"

And Yoon Eun Hye replied, "Prince only mah, very big meh? I am also a Princess what! I am a Princess to my parents and I am a Princess in my own home!"

Well, how true indeed. So I am Princess BUT I still have to work my butt off. Bah!

Life As It Should Be

Just now, my friend showed me the website of Coke zero at ZeroIsMore.com. He loves drinking coke and Coke Zero is his choice because of its zero sugar yet retains its real taste. Anyway, he told me that Coke Zero is running a campaign called Life As It Should Be.

In this website, coke fans can use the available black & white movie clips and direct their own mini movie by adding text or conversation using the voice recorder to the mini movie. This is perfect for people who have always dreamed of being a movie director!

All completed movies will be going against each other to be highest rated among all the mini movies. My friend loves playing with these clips to create his own little movies. He said there is no real prize to be won except bragging rights. And that is life as it should be.

Quality Ink At Reasonable Prices

Some of you may remember that I bought an Epson printer about four months ago. When I bought it, my friends were aghast! They asked me why I bought it. Did I know that the can be a killer?? Seriously, I did not know. I have only had one printer previously and I thought that Epson could render pretty cool prints! No wonder, if the ink is so expensive!

Anyway, not only is the ink expensive, after four months, I have already finished using one cartridge! So I was desperately looking for compatible Epson Ink Cartridges because they are really expensive and the PC Fair is already over!

My cousin told me that she buys her ink from an online store based in the United Kingdom called Ink Cartridges Direct and asked if there is such a store here in Malaysia. She said that not only can she buy original brand name ink or compatible ink at very reasonable prices she gets to save on shipping as well when she combines her order to go above £100 since the store offers free shipping across the United Kingdom for orders above that amount.

She asked me to look for such a store which could give me value for money without compromising on quality. That way, I would enjoy my printer more and not keep thinking of the cost of ink!

I Wish I Could Get Paid To .........

BREATHE!

What bout you? If you would be paid for doing something what would it be? Well, if you are going to get paid to do something, it will sound like work but not if you enjoy doing it.

I know of a friend who would totally love to be paid to play computer games. Now, without being paid, he would be at the computer playing from Friday evening after work to Monday morning just before leaving for the office. Mind you, this is not a pimply teenager, but a man almost 40 years old!

I know of another guy who could watch movies over and over again. Boy, would he love to get paid just to watch movies through the day and night. Can anyone watch A MOVIE again and again from evening to sunrise, totaling six reruns? He can! It would be awesome if he could get paid to watch movies, maybe like a movie reviewer or something like that.

I used to think that it would be great to work at a cybercafe. I thought that I would get paid for CHATTING online. If you have been to cybercafes, you can see those staff chatting away on the STAFF computer. Cool, eh?

Now, I prefer to get paid to breathe. Well, if there is such thing, it would effectively mean that I will get paid every nanosecond. Beat that! hahaha!

Reef Sandals Online Store

The other day, my mom bought me a pair of Made in China Crocs. Hmm that is not something I would want to wear out, you know? If I were to buy a branded item, I would buy the real deal and not an imitation. If I were use an unbranded item, I would rather it does not have any resemblance to the design of a brand name product, if you know what I am saying.

Anyway, I showed my mom a reef sandals online store at http://www.active-sandals.com/ to show her the difference between a Made in China imitation product and a real branded product. Sure, Made in China Crocs are so much cheaper but then where is the quality?

My sister, who lives in the United States where reef sandals are highly popular, told me that she bought her summer reef sandals from Active Sandals, a 5 out of 5 stars Yahoo! Store. According to her, the sandals are really comfortable, trendy and most of all affordable because they run occasional sales PLUS free ground shipping for orders above $75.

My sister told me that it is a blessing to have online stores like Active Sandals that will ship across the nation otherwise she feels left out living in Antioch, where she says, fashion takes ages to reach her shores. How true this is, I don’t know. Perhaps it is just an excuse for her to shop online and charge her credit card!

Investing Into Rare Coins

Last night, I was chatting with my friend on investment and what to do when he has saved up enough to make a significant amount of money that he could use as capital. We were bouncing off ideas like normal savings, fixed deposits, precious metals, stocks and property. However, he told me that he has heard of his friends who have invested into certified coins.

I have heard of people collecting coins as a hobby and I know that the value of such rare coins will increase but I did not know that there are people who would invest into such certified coins in a major way. I think I need to read up more on this!

I came across the website of Monaco Rare Coin that seems to facilitate the investment and collection of rare coins. I am going to check the site out thoroughly. At least I could then exchange notes with my friend intelligently!

Replica Sunglasses CAN Make Money

If you remember, I have a friend who invited me to join her in selling replica Sunglasses online and offline and which I declined because I could not devote the time to the business and I would feel bad if I could not pull my weight around.

Well, the good news is that she ordered Wholesale Sunglasses from a reputable supplier. She said that the supplier sells by the dozen and she is able to stock a dozen of each design which is a good strategy.

So anyway, she managed to get her stocks in record time and set up her online store by herself, and also selling at local places that have heavy human traffic. It is great to see that she could make a good business out of selling replica designer sunglasses and that she managed to find a single product that is selling like hot cakes.

My friend told me that I could join her anytime but then I would have to fork out some capital as well! That’s business!

Online Used Cars Guide

My sister told me that her car has konked out on her. Well, I am not surprised as she was scammed into buying her car. She only found out that her car was a rental car and had clocked many miles before she purchased it, and naturally, her car has seen better days. Recently, her car, which is an automatic gear car, does not change gears anymore and she had to drive using the wrong gear and she told me that her transmission burnt. HHmmm I don't really understand about cars but suffice to say, a new car is in order!

My sister told me that at first, she wanted to buy a new car but after calculating her budget and coming to her senses, she decided to go for a good used car. She said that a friend told her about a site called AutoGuide.com which has plenty of good Used Cars for sale in its database at very reasonable pries to suit any budget.

She said that by checking online, she does not have to go around to her neighborhood garages that sell Used Cars and perhaps get cheated for a second time. You know, there are people who would try to take advantage of a girl buying a car, while this will not happen because the internet does not discriminate.

I hope that she will be able to find what she wants with the help of AutoGuide.com!

Too Superstitious

Am I being too superstitious? A couple of months go, a friend proposed to visit me. Sometimes I feel like they pity me because I am stuck in this cow town so they come over to cheer me up :p

Anyway, I told him to come in early September if he really wanted to. And then now that we are at the end of August, I said, hey better not come in early September as purposed because it is still the seventh lunar month!

I don't want him to travel during the seventh month because of all the roaming spirits. Did you notice that all the bad things happen during the ghost month? I remember them all too clearly. Last year, many people I personally know died one after another during the seventh month. Creepy!

Well, my friend thought I was being a tad too superstitious while I think that we can't be too careful. He laughs that I won't even pass by a coffin shop if I could help it ggggrrrrr

Planning A Bahamas Vacation

Two months ago, I wrote about a free Bahamas party cruise that was being offered by a liner. Well, I thought I would win that contest for my parents but there was no such luck on my part. However, I am trying to see to it that they do go on that cruise trip even if I am going to fork out money from my own pocket but I would have to get my brother and sister to chip in.

None of us have been to the Bahamas before but I have heard of so many wonderful things about the island from a couple of friends of mine who went for a honeymoon. They showed us so many photos that spelled "Wish you were there!"

I checked online on the travel basics so that I can plan my parents’ trip better. I am going to aim for them to go on this trip during their wedding anniversary. How lovely to spend the time in Bahamas!

I will have to ask my friend what activities are available for senior citizens that are more suitable for my parents. I have checked the Bahamas Guide Info Online and have found it to be informative. However, I would still want to ask people who have experienced the wonderful island. Hope that I can make this a memorable trip for my parents!

How Much Is This Doggie?

I was at the vet's this afternoon to pick up some pet food. By the way, I went last week and they did not have stock. Told me that they will place an order with their supplier but darn it, it's now a week and they still do not have stock for it. I suspect that they did not place an order at all because they want to push sales for the smaller packs which are more expensive.

Small packs at 2kg are selling at MYR42 but large 7kg bags are sold at MYR130. As you can see, the difference is about MYR2 per kg. You see, just because they did not order the large bags, I am forced to buy the smaller pack to "ting tong" until the big bags arrived, which means to say I was forced to spend more.

Anyway, I was at the vet's and saw this very active doggie. He kept barking playfully at me and wagged his tail. Take a look how cute he is. My only gripe is that my camera is not doing him justice.

I have always wondered if pets kept in such enclosures are better than conventional pet cages. I mean, won't they claustrophobic? And how healthy can they be staying in an air-cond room?

Just looking at them in their enclosures, I feel suffocated!

Furniture Shopping Online

I know I have been meaning to get some home office furniture for half a year already but I can hardly find the time to actually go from furniture store to furniture store so my sister suggested that I shop for furniture online. I wonder why I, an avid online shopper, never thought of this before!

Anyway, I went to Furniture From Home, a large online furniture store, and browsed through their site section by section. Hehehe... I only wanted to get furniture home office but I was distracted by the other beautiful furniture pieces that are available at the store.

I thought I would check out the living room furniture as my mom has been hinting she would like a new set of furniture since the new year is coming soon!

What I like about the site is that I could just hover my cursor over the large thumbnails and there will be a pop up description of the item. This, and the large thumbnail, cut down on the times I need to open up the individual item page if I were even slightly interested in the item.

Shopping at this site is such a breeze when I tried placing my items in my shopping cart. I think I am already sold on some of their quality bedroom furniture. I know I don't NEED a new set but then I think I will indulge myself just this once!

Hibiscus Flowers

The other day, I was at Jusco and they have already decorated the building in conjunction with the 50th Independence Day celebration. I tested my camera by taking these lovely hibiscus flowers. I think these people are very artistic.

My cousin worked in the arts department of a previously leading shopping mall in my cow town before and I know the hard work they put in to decorate the building, the planning and actual implementation of their designs take up a lot of time. By the way, the mall has since closed down.

Anyway, I took a couple of photos of these hibiscus and only one turned out good enough to be published on my blog. Yes, I am fussy! If you see carefully, there's a very beautiful butterfly amongst the flowers!

I can't wait to get a decent digital camera so that I could take better photos for you! My friend said he is going to pass me one that he is no longer using. So either I wait for him to come or I buy my own! I'd rather have it FREE :D

Traveling The World Over

My father's business associate, Richard, travels all over the world as the Executive Director of his public listed company. Well, he is PAID to travel to solicit business for the company. Lucky him!

However, he said that he has reached the point where he is lazy tot ravel unless everything is organized smoothly for him by his secretary, like flights, hotels and
Limo Rentals plus schedule all meetings.

According to him, he has used many Limo rental services in the past but the most transparent and with the widest network would be Limores.net. He has checked that Limores.net provides GPS tracking technology to track their ride and easy corporate management.

What he likes about Limores.net is the promotions that they sometimes run, saving the traveling expenses of the company. And for international travelers like Richard and his fellow directors, that amount is pretty significant.

Tesco Express

There's a new Tesco Express. I say NEW because there previously was a Tesco Express but then they moved to a new premise taking over Makro which closed down and sold everything to Tesco. Tesco did operate at Makro but after that, they closed the building for renovation and just launched it last week.

When I went there, it was just like any other Tesco that I have been to. It does not even look like Makro anymore but I still do see some old tenants around. The place is so large. I saw a neighbour at the car park but when I was inside, I never even see him anywhere, you say large or not?

I tried to take a picture of the large signboard with my Nokia but the photo is so noisy that I feel like I am putting something ugly on my blog if I were to publish it here. Bah.. I NEED A DIGITAL CAMERA!

You know how Tesco has its own in-house brand? So one day in Tesco (there is another ordinary Tesco in my cow town), I heard a man telling his wife that he wants to buy coffee from England. I was thinking, "Eh, there's coffee from England being sold in Tesco?"

You know what? The wife then took a bottle of coffee power from the shelf and the brand name is "TESCO"... hahaha that really cracked me UP! Just because Tesco is a British company does not make their in-house products "English". God, people do love to kid themselves and shiok sendiri, right?

Search Engine With A Difference

Not a day goes by that I am not online searching for one piece of information or another and I am sure I am not online. It seems that people who do know how to use the internet wisely can search out a whole lot of information if we so wish.

The other day, I found a new search engine at Radiux.com that helps to fetch us more specific search results with its distance search yellow pages. By noting out IP, this search engine will look for the most relevant results based on our location, giving us a combined page of search results from Google, Craigslist, eBay, Amazon and Wikipedia.

I heard that this search engine has just been upgraded to Beta testing. I hope that it will soon be launched into a full service and support searches more major sites.

Information On Apartment Living

A month or so ago, my friend told me that his sister is vacating her apartment and he is supposed to move in at the beginning of September. That is only a week more to go. While he is excited moving to an apartment, living all by himself, he is rather apprehensive because this will be the first time living in an apartment for him. He asked me for advice and frankly, I don't know anything about moving to an apartment or living in one. I love living in a house for the time being but if I were to move to the city, I think apartment living would be more suitable.

He tried looking for an online guide on moving and living in an apartment and came across www.apartmentguide.com where it is a very resourceful and informative site for everything that has to go with finding an apartment, moving in, apartment living and common rules and also finding someone to share the apartment.

Although I have no plans to move to an apartment, I still checked the site because one never knows if the information would come in handy one day, right?

Asswin Khanna

I feel sorry for those people who had their hopes so high thinking that they could really win the $2500 offered by this guy, currently most wanted on the blogosphere, in a recent linking contest. Many had entered in good faith, many questioned his honesty and Phil from Contest Blogger even bet that Asswin is full of crap and if Asswin really did pay out $2500, Phil would make a post saying that Contest Blogger IS full of crap instead.

I think Asswin is so stupid. You know, what good would it do if he has his Technorati authority and Google Page Rank boosted if enough people complain to these two companies and then his domain name is banned forever and taken off the index? What good is a blacklisted domain name, then? I don't know. All I can think of is that this guy is too young and immature to think of the consequences.

If you remember, I also participated in it. To me, it was an opportunity to post an interim post. Content and idea. Just come up with an additional 100 words and bingo! An interim! Life moves on after that because I don't expect to win it even if it's a genuine contest.

If you have been had, don't worry, you had free link backs too and Asswin's gonna get his just deserts sooner or later!

Update On Henry's Family Trip

Duh... Henry rubbed salt into my wound by sending me a text message just now letting me know that the family has decided on a trip to the beautiful island of Maui! They just surfed to the site of Hawaiian Beach Rentals and BOOKED one of the Maui vacation homes. WOW!

Henry said that they had a hard time deciding and coming to a mutual agreement on which island to go to first and after much reading, researching online and asking for the opinion of friends who have visited Hawaii before, they decided on Maui. That was also AFTER getting further information from the Hawaiian Local Travel Blog.

I asked Henry how much is his budget for this holiday but he would not tell. Suffice to say that he managed to get a good deal from Hawaiian Beach Rentals. And he added “Holiday first, suffer later!” But I know he’s just kidding!

Anyway, he better bring home MORE souvenirs for me now for subjecting me to such torture :p

What About Me?

My friend, Henry, just told me that he has plans to take his family to Hawaii at the end of the year during the year end school holidays. My, how envious! Henry is a very good father because he takes the family on holidays every school holidays. However, the shorter holidays are for Cuti-cuti Malaysia only while the longer term end holidays are reserved for overseas holidays. I wish I were his daughter!

I asked Henry why he decided on Hawaii and he told me that he had heard a lot about the memorable Hawaiian vacations that is friends have taken and he too would like to experience the beauty of the islands. I totally agree and why not since he could afford it?

Henry did some research online and found valuable Hawaiian Local Travel Information that he said would be useful in planning a trip for two adults and three children. Eh, what about me??

Anyway, I believe that Henry would be bringing home souvenirs for me as promised and I can’t wait to receive them! Shameless, I KNOW! Haha!!

MiJovi ItsMiLife

As you know, I am a pretty big fan of Bon Jovi and when I am free, I search out news of the man and the band. This piece of news really made me laugh. It is up to you to decide if the soft drink manufacturer really was inspired by Bon Jovi or was it just a tribute to his girlfriend.

I say, if the drink was just MiJovi, then sure, he could argue his case, but ItsMiLife? Who is he trying to kid? LOL

Bon Jovi said that fans could have mistaken that this is a band merchandise and I think young star-struck fans (if they STILL have them) would make this mistake. Older fans, I don't think they will care about MiJovi. Just bring on the (rock) music!

If Bon Jovi is taking pains to stop this soft drink manufacturer to stop production of MiJovi, I wonder why he isn't doing anything about "Bon Jovi's" MySpace page.

Resculpture The Body With LIPO KIT™ Patches

Last night, I was telling my friend that since blogging so much, sitting in front of the computer, leading a sedentary lifestyle, I have developed a roll of fat on my tummy. People call this spare tire and I have been told that all women have it, the only difference is how big it is. Well, I DON'T WANT IT. My pants are tight and I am conscious of it.

You probably remember that I have a friend who works ion the beauty line, assisting a plastic surgeon from Russia in performing plastic surgeries, making visits to my hometown a few times a year. He told me that he could give me a discount if I wanted to go for liposuction. NO WAY, man!

Another friend told me that I could try the gadget that is so popular now I see it every time I go shopping. It's a gadget that one needs to wrap about the tummy area, turn it on and it will shake. Does THAT loosen our tummy fat??

Today, I discovered a Liposuction Alternative, the LIPO KIT™ Patches. We are supposed to wrap this cloth material around our body wherever we feel the need to resculpture. The patch has natural homeopathic ingredients that are supposed to penetrate into our body through skin contact, forcing fatty cells to expel toxins and then shrink. Fat and toxins will then be eliminated from our body naturally.

NOW, this is something that I would love to try. No way am I going to poke myself with needles in a conventional liposuction procedure just to suck out the fat when I could do it painlessly with the LIPO KIT™ Patches!

Smart or Over Smart

It is very rare that I mean really smart people. By smart, I do not mean getting good grades at school. What I mean is that someone whose thinking is wise beyond his years, who is innovative and dynamic, who could carry out an intelligent conversation.

The other day, I met someone like that and I was surprised that he is only 24 years old but he is visionary and runs his own companies for a few years already.

After meeting him, I told a friend of mine what a great guy this person is but my friend also had dealings with him before although he does not know him personally. And you know, my friend told me stuff about this young man that is not so good and I do trust my friend more than I trust this guy, of course, so I believe him.

This made me recall an incident quite a few years ago where I met a smart young man however, the way he managed his company was so bad, bordering on CON that I gave him a piece of my mine. However, I also advised him that he is very talented but make use of the talent doing something constructive.

You know, if he is talented but misuses his talent and then end up going to jail for it, then what would become of him? He won't even have a future, right? After that, our friendship strained and I did not want to keep in contact with him anymore. I wonder what has happened to him. Just now as I was writing this, I Googled his name and nothing recent came up. There was only one result that showed up, an achieved post in a forum years ago.

So, be smart but not over do it!

Learning From The Best Hypnosis Coach

Some of you may remember that before my friend, Boon, passed away from cancer, he underwent a few sessions of hypnosis. He was told that going through it may help him untie the knots that have built up over the years and by uncovering the problems in his past, he may look at life differently and perhaps overcome his cancer.

Boon told me that during his sessions, it was too much for him to handle, although he did recognize the value that hypnosis may have to his health. However, it came a little too late as Boon succumbed to cancer soon after.

Since then, I have been interested to learn hypnosis. I see it as something to help people come to terms with their past and change their life moving forward. I believe that many problems that we are facing now stem from our past, the issues that we have kept bottled up and these are all causing a negative impact on our daily life.

A friend told me about a very good hypnosis guide at http://www.hypnosiscoach.com/. According to the website, one could cure phobias and control people's thoughts in regular conversations. I mean, WOW! I thought it could only help us with our hang ups!

Dr Michael Masterman, the hypnosis coach, is going to share his real hypnosis secrets with us, all for $49.95 only, heavily discounted from his usual price of $99.95. He is so confident that his coaching will work that he has provided money back guarantee.

I am so excited about it! If you are even mildly interested in hypnotism, you should learn from Dr. Masterman, said to be the BEST hypnosis coach!

The Value of MYR1

An American friend of mine wanted to know if the American dollar is stronger than the Malaysian Ringgit. So I told him it's about USD1 to MYR3.4X. He doesn't get it and that seals his preset opinion that Malaysia is a poor country. Well, he would be surprised to know how rich in natural resources our country is.

Since he couldn't even begin to understand how weak our currency is compared to the Dollar, I told him that one Starbucks is about MYR8 - MYR10. Well, I never had a Starbucks before though I have been in there so I know this is the rough estimation.

He told me that Starbucks in the United States, at least where he lives, is about USD7. Oh my God, that's like 2.5 times what we are paying over here.

Anyway, he still does not get the real value of the Ringgit so he asked what can MYR1 buy? For the life of me, I can't think of ANYTHING.

Mineral water and sweets are way below MYR1. Bread and coffee are more than MYR1. Is there anything that we could get for exactly MYR1? If you can think of something, let me know!

Karl Moore’s Inspirational Thoughts

Last night, I was chatting with my friend on the phone. I was feeling rather down and he was so sweet to try to cheer me up. This morning, he emailed me the link to Karl Moore's Blog, an inspirational blog. I have not heard of this blog before but I just read his blog and I could feel the positive vibe from his posts.

I think I need to learn from the owner, Karl Moore, on how to be positive, stay perked up and energetic because I have readers messaging me asking why my posts sound sad, depressive and even angry! Oh-oh!

I know I looking forward to read more from Karl Moore and I have already bookmarked his blog. I think we all should share his inspirational thoughts every morning! Have you bookmarked Karl Moore’s blog?

Bonded

I feel like slapping my cousin. Some years back after her SPM, she managed to obtain a Bank Negara scholarship to study A-Levels and Accountancy in England because she was one of the country's top scorers. After her studies, she has to be bonded to Bank Negara for about seven years. I mean, this is very reasonable because she has already used a considerable amount of money to pursue her tertiary education.

But when she was working with Bank Negara, she was not happy. I mean, come on, it's only seven years and as we know time flies. She is still young after seven years and it's not as if she is not being paid or is not getting any work experience, which would be helpful to her in future.

But no, her heart wasn't in her job which I think is mighty ungrateful of her and she left when she had the opportunity. The boyfriend is also one kind. Went to England to look for a job, greener pastures and all, and told her to go along, and she packed her bags.

Since she resigned and did not fulfill her side of the bargain with Bank Negara, she has to repay her scholarship. I know there are plenty of people like her, and some are not even paying back as if it is their right to use the money to study.

Anyway, my cousin and her boyfriend went to England and she found a job while her boyfriend did not manage to find a job that he likes so he came back. My friend had to remain in England because to be frank, a Malaysian pay cheque would not be big enough to service her Bank Negara scholarship, which is now a "loan" since she broke her bond.

Now she keeps complaining that she has to repay a few thousand Ringgit per month but what the heck complain to me when it was she herself who brought this on to herself? I mean, she chose this route to take, so see through it. Otherwise, just put her head down for seven years and work with Bank Negara. She still got her regular pay and not as if she has to work for free.

You say she deserves to be slapped or not?

Our Trusted Source of Product Guide

The other day, I wrote a post on a weight loss review site. A reader told me that I should check out Trust Source because there are more products here and these products are rated by users and not by the owner of the site, like the one I wrote on.

I have browsed through the site and there are many types of over-the-counter consumer products being rated. Normally, when we buy these products, we do not really know if they will work until we have tried them on ourselves and if they do not work, we would have already wasted money.

Like the time I bought cellulite cream, my friend recommended it to me because she said it was good but unfortunately, it didn't work for me, and cellulite creams don't come cheap, you know?

Now, taking Trust Source as a guide, I could make a more informed buying decision because these products are rated by users and they could also write a review. Instead of getting the thumbs up from ONE person, my friend, I could read the views of so many others who have also tried the same product.

Currently, I am looking for menopause relief supplements that could help my aunt with her hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms. There are three products featured on Trust Source with very high rating at 92%, 94% and 100%. Surely I am going to let my aunt know about the product which has a 100% rating!

While surfing the website, I also saw hair loss products being ranked and reviewed by users. Provillus, the one my friend is using, garnered 94%. I am going to tell my friend to come to Trust Source to place a vote for Provillus since he is a user and should share with others his experience using the product.

Now that I know of Trust Source, I will check out the recommended products first before buying. I don't want to waste money on products that have a low effective rate, you know?

In Memory

Slightly more than a year ago when my cousin sister passed away suddenly, we were all caught by surprised. There was only a couple of days' notice between falling seriously ill, lapsing into a coma and then taking her last breath. Most of our family members and friends who were overseas did not manage to come home to pay their last respects.

Of course, some may say that we should have shown that we care during her lifetime but in this modern times, family gatherings are not that easy to organize and keeping in touch is more by email.

I was told of the website called Registry of Life at http://www.registryoflife.com/ which allows us to set up an online memorial page in honor of the deceased so that any family member or friend who has access to the internet could come by to celebrate the life and times of her.

I think that Registry of Life is a very good concept since most of us are web savvy and wired. This could help us remember the deceased and also bring the living closer together.

Registry of Life is also a resource center with information on how to cope with the loss of a loved one. I remember the tough days my aunt went through when her daughter, my cousin, passed away. We could not adequately and competently console her because only a grieving mother could understand the feelings of another and there were times we wished that there were professional counselors on hand to advise and comfort her. If only we had known of Registry of Life earlier.

This website is a service site, therefore, members who would like to create a Registry of Life will be assessed a one-time charge of $49.95 but to be sure this is something you really want for your loved one, you have a 14-day free trial to create a Registry of Life and have full access to it.

Personally, I think that $49.95 is well worth the money because it is a one-time fee and there will be no other hidden charges. Moreover, all registries are archived online for as long as the website is up. Also, members have total control over the set up of the registry including customization of the layout and theme and uploading of photos, slide shows and audio files. I really like the option to set the Registry to public or private access. This can help us to protect our privacy among family members and friends only.

I think a Registry is worth the time and money to set up. I am going to discuss with my aunt and uncle since they are the parents and will have the final say.

Thank You!

You know what, the other day, a blogger commented that she has never seen as many sponsored posts as on my blog. Well, she ain't seen nothing yet on other people's blogs who have more sponsored posts than I have.

I have been writing paid reviews for slightly more than nine months and I really appreciate my loyal readers who still come and read my posts, sponsored and unsponsored.

Sponsored posts do not mean that I make up stories to fit the occasion because many times, there are more personal stories in them than I normally would write, especially in posts that are purely for SEO purposes.

I have also been told that I am one of the few dedicated bloggers who blog on a daily basis, sometimes churning out five original posts PLUS sponsored ones and then I write more posts and save them in drafts.

I believe that if without sponsored posts, I would not have told so many stories of my life or disclosed certain details of my life. In any case, I really would like to thank you all for coming by to read my blog, but not necessarily to comment, despite having to wade through sponsored posts.

I know there are some of you who drop by on a daily basis, and some who come by occasionally. Either way, I am very grateful that you do come. It means that my writing still have value to you.

Thank you so much. I promise to drop by your blogs when I could make time!

My Brother's Birthday

Today is actually my brother's birthday. It is always tough to look for a gift for him because my father's and his birthday are just two weeks apart and I always try my best not to buy the same gifts for them, not in the same year, at least.

Two weeks ago, I already bought my father a "gold" pen so pen is out. I would like to get him a set of pin tie and cuff links. I think they are great as gifts but he doesn't like to wear the tie except for formal occasions.

I don't like buying things that comes in different sizes like clothes and shoes. Perhaps I would just take the easy way out by giving him cash vouchers. Now, the problem is finding the merchant that he likes to shop from, or perhaps a spa voucher. Or should I also get a watch for him like I am going to get for Warren?

Urghh so many decisions to make!

Gift of A Luxurious Watch

A couple of week ago, I wrote about Warren's request for a watch for his upcoming birthday next month. Well, I have thought about it and I am going to give him one of those beautiful Luminox watches. I asked another friend of mine who is well versed in watches and he suggested this brand to me.

He told me that a man must have an expensive watch so that he could pass it to his son in the future, just like mothers pass jewelry to the daughters. Wow, I never thought of it like this!

But then by the time the watch is passed to the son, it would already be out of fashion. However, when it is passed down to the third or even fourth generation, it would then already be an antique watch, more valuable than ever.

With this logic in mind, I now feel more comfortable buying a more luxurious watch!

Paul's Visit To Arizona

Paul had the chance to visit a large family home in Arizona with an Arizona luxury real estate agent. He did not go as a potential buyer but the homeowner wanted his house renovated with extension on a new wing.

Paul told me that he took a bunch of photos and also brought back another stack of photos that was handed over to him. These shots were taken by the new homeowner to give an idea to Paul of what he wants incorporated into the house.

According to Paul, this makes things easy for him because he already could envision the kind of set up the owner wants and there would be less correction to do to his architectural plans. Boy, have I heard him complain enough of the demands that his clients set on him.

News From My Filipina Friend

I received news from my Filipina friend that she is doing well in England. You may or may not recall that she was introduced to a British who was so desperate for a wife but could not even find a British girl that he fell in love wit my friend at first glance.

She has already migrated to England for about three years and they have a son and a daughter. HHmmm When she first told me the news, I was happy for her and at the same time worried. I have heard too many stories where people like her went to a foreign land to marry a person they hardly know, and then got into all sorts of marital problems, and some even got killed.

So, yeah, I was worried but luckily, Venus said that her in-laws have been kindly to her and taken her in as part of the family. The son was DESPERATE, remember? There must be something wrong with his family because his brother also was DESPERATE and married another Filipina, a friend of Venus.

It’s so weird. When I was told this, I got more worried. I told another friend of mine, while I wish her all the happiness I would not be surprised if the marriage does not last. Sure, Venus may put up with all sorts of things until she has what she aimed for, maybe a permanent residency in the United Kingdom or something, but so far so good. They even made a trip back to her hometown to show the parents that their daughter "no holes, not injured". hahaha!

Shopping For Quality Bedspread

The other day, I was supposed to follow my mom to the mall to pick out quilt covers for our but I was reluctant to go. I KNOW she just wants me around to help her carry her purchases and not ask me for my opinion.

Actually, I wanted to tell her that I prefer to shop for bedding online. I am already shopping for most items online so why not bedding?

I have surfed around Terry's Fabrics website before and I really like the choices available ad their prices seem competitive. I know that compared to shopping at other online stores selling bedding, I would be getting more bang for my money with Terry's Fabrics.

The bed being such a large object and prominent focus of the bedroom, I believe that decoration for the bedroom start from the bed. Terry's Fabrics believe in this too, from what I could see. I never had so much joy surfing on a store. Terry's Fabrics have added color to life thanks to their range of quality bedspread.

Hey Sexy!

Recently, I am receiving at least one offline message a day from an unknown stranger with the message "Hey Sexy" or something like that on my Yahoo! Messenger. I don't know where these people, or are they bots, obtained my user ID. I don't even put my messenger online though it is logged in to alert me of incoming email messages.

No way am I going to reply to such weird messages even if the person behind is a genuine person and not a bot or phisher. There was once when I opened a photo album which was purportedly sent by a friend on my contacts list and I suddenly felt it odd and straightaway changed my Yahoo! email password.

I later asked this friend if he sent me any holiday photos to view and he said he did not. Choi! Thank god I realized my mistake.

Anyway, if these "Hey Sexy!" messages become more rampant, I am not even going to log into my Yahoo! Messenger. I wonder how many people receive such messages.

Hoodia Reviewed

The other day, I read in a forum some one asking where to buy authentic Hoodia. This is a weight loss product that many people said has worked wonders for them. However, there are many brands of Hoodia and some work, some don't. That's why this person asked in public for one that is genuine so as not to get ripped off. He said his wife wants to shed some weight.

Anyway, there is a website that reviews products like these. Many product manufacturers have approached them to sample their product and you know what? The administrators of the website declined the samples but the chose to secretly Buy Hoodia from all the sites so that they can review the products in the shelf and not a special review pack.

According to the website, there are only three brands of Hoodia that are worth our time and money and they are Desert Burn, HoodiThin and HoodiaRush. This site also allows users of Hoodia to submit their own experience with Hoodia so that it will benefit other visitors and potential users of Hoodia. what a great site to learn and share.

I am going to let the thread starter know of this review site and hopefully, he will be able to get value for his money by buying only the product that works.

Engelbert Humperdinck in Concert

Today is Engelbert's concert in Genting as part of his 40th Anniversary tour. This is not his first visit to Genting and hopefully is not the last. I do want to watch him not because I think he's sexy but I like his music and I think his voice could carry his tunes well, because it's very masculine and solid.

Usually, only older people like Engelbert so my friend was rather surprised that I even KNOW about him! I told him that Engelbert is actually of Indian descent but he does not believe me. He said that just because he was born in India does not make him an Indian BUT his surname is Dorsey worrrrrr If that is not Indian, then what is? He said that if Engelbert is Indian then how come he is so popular with the Chinese ladies here, (we heard that tickets to his show sold out), but these Chinese ladies DON'T KNOW!

Mind you, not that it makes any difference whether he IS or IS NOT an Indian but we just wanted to see who wins. Him or Me? Is he or is he not? I think he is. His name, his voice, his complexion and his features all spell Indian. The older he is, the more he looks like an Indian superstah!

Anyway, my friend told me that Tom Jones is sexier than Engelbert. To me, both are not sexy at all, but I admit that Tom Jones is more hiau than Engelbert. Hahaha!

Premium Wine Racks And Accessories

A friend of mine has a wine bar at home. Actually, he inherited the home from his dad and his dad was a very prominent figure in my hometown and held parties almost every weekend. I have been to his house quite a number of times and he showed me his bar but I am a teetotaler so I do not know how to appreciate fine wine.

Anyway, he told me that he has seen this online store that sells Wine Racks and accessories that he would like to get for his bar.

He showed me the website of The Vine Store at http://www.thevinestore.com/ and frankly, I did not know that there are so many types of racks made up of different material like wood or metal, or even that they come in different designs or styles. I have seen the common wine racks often and sometimes the wall mounted ones but this is the first time I have seen a hanging wine rack. This is what my friend is thinking of getting.

Other items that have caught the attention of my friend are the wine charms. They are so cute and my friend says that he wants to give them out this Christmas. I browsed through the site and realized that internet price is lower than regular retail shop price which I think is good as it encourages more people to shop online.

I think that as more and more people become affluent and own wine bars at home, The Vine Store should consider shipping their premium wine racks and accessories worldwide.

Where Would You Go?

I have always said that if I have the time, I would go on holiday but when my friend asked me here do I want to go, I was stumped. I used to say "Monte Carlo OR BUST' but now that I am older, I would love to get back to nature.

I have read quite a lot on Hawaii and I have a Hawaiian friend who sent me so many postcards of picturesque scenery. Also, my friend Doris has made plans to go to Hawaii for her year end vacation that I think Hawaii is a place that I would love to go to as well.

I read there are plenty of options to make a trip to Hawaii as affordable as possible. From the Hawaii travel information I obtained, the most popular currently are Hawaii home rentals. I think these are cheaper alternatives that hotels that cater to tourists in the city PLUS they are lovely for people who prefer to be surrounded by nature and not by buildings and other nosy tourists.

If you were to go on a holiday, where would it be?

Should I Buy?

Did you know that there is this website that has just launched and they are running a promotional period whereby for two weeks, they are selling new digital cameras for 50% off?

There are only actually four models but they are selling these four cameras at different dates throughout the two weeks.

I wonder if I should buy just because they are SO cheap. Can you imaging getting a new digital camera and it does not work as it should? Well, I read up on all four models on the website, DPreview and to me, all four models are just slightly lacking.

Maybe I should try to win this and sell the item on eBay! hehehe

Staying Motivated

When I was young, I used to keep scrap books where I cut out beautiful pictures from magazines and newspapers and stick them on art blocks. These beautiful pictures could be of anything; people, homes and garden, the latest electronic gadgets, clothes, etc. I don't know who taught me to do so but one thing I remember is that I spent quite a bit of money on the art blocks, glue and cello tape. I even wasted a lot of time going though the papers and magazines and waiting for the family to finish reading the newspapers and magazines before I could mutilate them.

I also have books and books of recipes collected from various publications and all these books are still around till today although I have stopped doing this due to lack of time.

I subsequently read that keeping such scrap books is actually a great motivator for us to work hard. Subconsciously, we WANT these things in our lives, that's why we keep them even if they are only images. So we work towards that goal and many people have been able to achieve what they want through this "trick".

Although now I do not start new scrap books anymore, I do try to motivate myself to work hard by placing pictures of "nice things" that I would like to buy, sticking these pictures on the sides of my monitor. It is not that I am unable to afford them, but I am only going to get them when I am absolutely sure that I NEED them.

And meanwhile, I am working hard for cash and these things, like the Dell, are great motivators to me. Next week, it may be something else.

Cheap Disney World Vacation Packages

Although some people have already gone for a holiday during the summer when the kids are off school, a couple of my friends had to wait till the holidays are over before they could take their own break! This is because they run a souvenir store and their business is always roaring during the holidays.

This year, they wanted to go to Disney World after hearing so many interesting things about the theme parks there and the many things that one could do. However, they were afraid of the expenses. Coming from Malaysia, where the currency is more than three times lower, we really have to calculate every penny and budget our holidays well.

So these two friends went online to search for Cheap Disney World Vacation Packages. They found a website that ha very competitive prices and according to them, these prices are hard to beat. I guess they know better after surfing to so many sites that offer Orlando vacation packages.

Now I am going to wait for them to give me their feedback when they return!

Goji Berries For Constipation

My friend asked me if I have tried her recommendation of Goji Juice yet. Well, I am guilty of procrastination because after all these months I have not! I know, I have heard of all the benefits to my health and YET!

She told me that prior to taking Goji Berries regularly in her diet, she has been suffering from constipation and she was told that this would help matters. She gave it a try although she was rather skeptical. She said, she will drink it like ordinary juice.

Well, what do we know? She said she no longer suffers from constipation and her complexion is better too. She says that my face is full of pimples and suspects that I am also like her; constipated. BUT my pimples are because of leading a stressful life! No way am I going to admit to constipation!

But I will give this a try but it still won’t make me admit that Goji berry is the solution to *my* constipation!

Socializing Online

Not too long ago, I was very active in various international chat rooms and then work came and I did not have the luxury anymore. Of course, I missed the friendships that I forged. Amazingly, we were all strangers when we first logged into the room but as time passes and thoughts shared through text messages, we formed a bond even though we may be from different cultural backgrounds and separated by millions of miles.

This past week, I have been rather free and went to my old haunts but all my online buddies have already left. I thought it would be better to start afresh in a new chat room so my friend told me about WireClub.

WireClub is more than a chat room host because there are chat rooms, interest clubs, dating site and a blog platform all rolled into one. It actually makes sense to have all these under one portal because it makes networking so much easier and we get to share our life, thoughts and ideas to people who share the same interest as us even though we may be from different corners of the world.

The other day, I was contemplating setting up a new blog and now that I have been introduced to WireClub, I think a free blog on WireClub is as good as any other. A free account with WireClub comes with so many cool features, so why not?

God Save The Monkeys

A couple of days ago, I saw on the MyCen Feed at the top of my blog (just under the header) a news headline about selling monkeys overseas.

I remember a long time ago when I was at a zoo, there was a boy who brought peanuts to feed the monkeys but he teased the monkeys instead and instead of feeding, showed the monkey the food and then hid them in his pocket. Guess what? The monkey bit him. Since that day, I have this fear of monkeys, though I am keeping two of them! Hah!

Anyway, I don't really LIKE monkeys in general but after reading TV Smith's picture story on the plight of monkeys, I feel indignant that the powers that be could think up something this clever to eliminate the monkeys by exporting them for their meat. Don't be surprised that monkeys could carry some diseases too.

As bloggers, no matter if we are small timers or heavy weights, I feel that it is our duty to voice out injustices like this plight of the monkeys, social issues or current happenings like the EXPRESS BUS ISSUE. I wish that someone would pick up the story because LIFE is too valuable to be snuffed out like that and it is unfair that people who are already disadvantaged, taking public transportation like the express bus because they could not afford their own transport, are forced to subject their lives to a stranger who could not care less.

Yes, LIFE is valuable even if it is a MONKEY's life. They have as much rights as us to be here! Is it too much to hope that somebody in power would realise that this scheme is too ludicrous, for want of a better word, to carry out?

P/S: Since I have a link out to TV's Sightings, perhaps I should protect my ass with a reverse Disclosure?

Tool Chest For The Garage

My father is a typical guy who loves to tinker about and is the chief handyman in the house. Well, that is fine with us except that he has his tools untidily lying about and makes the garage seems messy. Well, he said that nobody goes in besides him so he doesn't mind the mess.

However, he did mention that he would love to get a tool chest to organize his vast collection of tools so that he could turn the garage into a real room where he could work better.

Well, Malaysians are lucky to even HAVE a garage in the house, I told him, but then I do see his point. I too would love to help him with getting the garage tidy up so that it will be more like an office.

I found this workbench tool box online that looks perfect for our garage because it incorporates a workbench and a tool chest. It is priced at $5,759.99. My, that will take us a long time to save that amount of money but it is a goal worth aiming for!

The Art of Blaming Others

Why is it that we like to place the blame on others? You know, the other day, I was rather pissed off at a friend for making me rush to do something for him because he did not give me advanced notice. I already told him previously to let me know beforehand should he need to do help him. He did not and I had to go out of my way to do it for him so that he does not get into trouble.

And he got the nerve to tell me that it's because of "So and so" that he did not manage to give me an advanced notice.

I am getting picky with friends. Why is it that people do not reflect on themselves and their actions to see if they are doing things the right or wrong way? They would rather blame it on someone else when it is obvious that they are in the wrong.

Like in the case above, if my friend had planned early, we could have done everything on time without rushing and ended up I had to do his things first and foregoing my own work. Hey, every one's got deadlines to meet too.

Argh...

Exquisite Cosmic Jewelry Art in Gold

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I have been checking our jewelry from online stores trying to find the perfect jewelry gift which won't cost me an arm and a leg.

By chance, I stumbled upon Ka gold jewelry. Ka gold jewelry is actually very different and unique. They are exquisite pieces with cosmic designs. Not only do these handcrafted pieces carry unique designs, each individual piece has gone through a special energizing process under meditation.

I have of course been told that there are certain jewelries that have "energy" but they are no where near as exquisite as these Ka gold jewelry designed by David Weitzman.

It is interesting to note that Ka gold jewelry has range of jewelries specially made with Tibetan, Merkaba, New Age, Egyptian, Jewish designs and other talismans and pendants.

I feel that these would make great gifts highly appreciated by people who understand the power of these cosmic symbols.

Do check out Ka Gold Jewelry and be blown away by the unique jewelry art set in gold.

WorldMate Weather

It's weird. After using my device (we don't call it the mobile or cell phone now) where I have this programme called WorldMate installed, which I subscribed to the daily weather updates, it forecasts scattered thunderstorm in Kuala Lumpur every day.

However some days my dad went to KL and I asked him if it rained and he said no. I asked my friends who live in KL and they sometimes tell me it rained and sometime it did not.

So my conclusion is that it's not accurate at all. How come its scattered thunderstorm for two whole months? What a lousy service. By the way, there's no forecast for my cow town.

Talking about the weather, my father's associate came to KL not to long ago for a week, and wondered why it rained so badly every evening. He said that it rained every day he was in KL and my dad told him that it rained even when he wasn't around hahaha!

And then there's an Egyptian who came to escape the Summer heat in his country and received a surprise when Malaysia is even hotter than Egypt kah kah kah

Not Spam

I was chatting with a friend just now and he was complaining that he has been receiving unsolicited email and he just deleted them off without reading the mail. I wondered aloud if he has signed up for any Mailing Lists on the numerous sites that he visits daily. After thinking hard, he recalled that he did indeed sign up to be notified of upcoming events on a website.

It was so funny because he has totally forgotten about it and cursing and swearing that his email address was compromised when it was not! What "good" memory he has! I know that this friend is not the only person who complains of receiving unsolicited mail when it was he himself who opted in on a mailing list.

He said that if only companies would send out mail that do not fall into the Spam Folder, it would be more effective for them to reach out to subscribers with their message and updates!

Font Colour

Guess what? Today I was so free, I changed the colour of my font. I actually wanted to do it for a long time now but have been rather lazy. Today, when I waded through my HTML codes, I nearly messed it up and in fact I did and then I sent a message to my friend for help. But before he has a chance to check out my template, I managed to find the problem after laying off for a while.

So here are two Before & After screenshots for comparison's sake.

I think that reading black text does not put as much a strain on my aging eyes as it does reading grey text. What do you think?

Assistance From A Website Optimization Firm

A friend of mine who runs his own commercial website has been telling me that business has been slow. I wondered if it is because of the summer where everyone is enjoying life outdoors rather than sitting in front of the computer. However, he beg to differ, saying that business was good this time last year. Then I guess it could be the competition.

I asked him if he considers getting assistance from a website optimization firm since I heard that a good web design plus search engine optimized and friendly site will get ranked higher in the search engine results hence getting the attention of the browsers who are seeking for information.

He said he had thought about it but do not know of a website optimization firm with reasonable rates. It is rather true because the previous time I looked for one, they were very expensive indeed.

So I asked another friend of mine and he told me about Think Big Sites, a full-fledge web hosting, designing and marketing company that strives to drive traffic to each and every website and meeting the needs of each individual client.

I guess that there is no better time than now to test the effectiveness of Think Big Sites and see if traffic to his ecommerce site will grow or not and hopefully convert them into buyers.

Getting Hard To Handle

My late cousin's young daughter is getting more and more difficult to handle. Almost every day when she returns from school, she has a new demand and I am saying "demand" because it is becoming like what Wei Wei wants, what Wei Wei gets. Yes, it is THAT bad. Well, what to do? I think my aunt, her grandmother, is giving in too much to her but we really can't fault her considering her unfortunately circumstances.

Just the other day, she came home with a poster of Boxer breed pictures. Now, for the past couple of months, she has asked for and was given, a pair of spectacles, a bicycle and a computer. These may be "normal" things for a school going kid but she is only ten years old and her eyes are perfectly fine and she doesn't even know how to ride a bike. The only problem is that her friends have them and SHE MUST too.

I am not sure if she knows that dogs come with heavy responsibilities. Dogs are not like a bicycle or spectacles where she could chuck aside if she doesn't like them but I suspect that no matter what, she is going to have her way, just like all the other items that she forced her grandmother to buy even though they could hardly afford it.

Before long, I know I would get a phone call that she already has a new dog in the house. I guess I would have to make time to go over to teach her all about dog responsibilities. The only thing I wish for is that she will listen to me and remember what I teach her. Dogs are cute when they are young but when they have lost their cuteness as they grow older, I do not want Wei Wei to pass the daily caring of her dog to the grandparents. Since she wants the dog, she has to care for it, plain and simple.

Flexibilty Of Online Property Management Software

I have mentioned before that a friend of mine collects property like he is playing Monopoly. I asked him how he remembers when to collect his rent or pays his property associated bills. He said he need not worry about those as the properties are all properly managed by a property management company. He told me that this company manages many properties for a list of clients and they use an online property management software.

With this software, the company is able to manage the properties, making sure that they are rented out and to collect the rental at the right time of the month and to pay the expenses on time too! This sure sounds complex to me, but according to my friend, the software is able to get work done faster than doing it manually. Oh, I can just imagine the paperwork!

The best thing is that this is a web-based solution so it means that property managers could access their work from anywhere in the world as long as they are connected to the internet. Does it mean that they do not have to clock in at the office like we are forced to?

Solutions: Debt Relief and Credit Card Consolidation

It is part and parcel of life to be in debt nowadays. My family is still in debt despite getting one miserable account settled but there are still a few to get over with. The thing is that I cannot undo the debt that was caused by my parents except to repay them as soon as possible and then gain the financial freedom that I have been longing for.

I read that first of all, I should seek debt relief and from the list of questions I answered, I DO qualify for debt help because I am not that distressed financially. Phew ... thankfully!

I feel very unlucky to be born to my parents because I am not the one who spent the money and enjoyed life and get into debt like my friends who abused their credit cards. I always tell them that hey, at least they ENJOYED the money, right?

Also, because their debt was caused by holding a slew of credit cards, charging them knowing full well that they can't possibly service them all ON TIME at the end of the month, at least now they can opt for credit card consolidation that should help them to manage their debt better.

In any case, I always believe that no matter how we incurred the debt in the first place, there is always a solution for it and sometimes it is right in front of our eyes!

Stop The Bus!

Screams today's Sunday Star. People who are frequent travellers of express buses, especially those late night ones would know how reckless and irresponsible bus drivers are.

Not only are they a danger to the passengers, they are also causing problems for other road users. Can you imagine placing YOUR LIFE on the hands of these people? People who MAY be drug addicts, people who MAY have a criminal record, people who MAY have committed numerous traffic offences? How they are even hired in the first place without a background check is a mystery.

Once you hop onto a public vehicle, you are practically handing your safety and life to the driver of the vehicle, whether it is a taxi, bus, an airplane or even a cruise ship. We do want people who are responsible and would take extra care at the helm, as if the passengers are their own family members.

Actually, this matter has been long in need of a solution. I have been told that bus drivers do not get paid. Maybe they DO have a basic pay, I do not know, but their income comes from getting a fixed rate for each trip they completed. Naturally, drivers would want to pack in as many trips as possible every day so that they have a decent amount of money at the end of the month.

If you have tried asking the bus driver to slow down, you would be chided with, "This is an EXPRESS bus. If it's not fast, then it is not EXPRESS!" In this latest bus accident, it looks like it was an EXPRESS route to Hell (or Heaven depending on how you want to look at it).

I think it is the duty of responsible citizens, whether we are express bus commuters or regular road users, to voice out our concerns and press for solutions and fast too. Please speak up if you can command even an iota or attention, please bring on your suggestions because it looks like the powers that be, those who have never ever ridden on a express bus before, are stumped for ideas that's why this matter has not been addressed for such a long time.

Please do something, anything, so that people do not get killed for nothing!

A Weekend Of Celebration

My cousin, Sharon, just has to make me envious of her. She works in Los Angeles but to celebrate her birthday recently, she told me that she flew her boyfriend and a couple of her close friends out to Florida for a weekend of celebration and a much needed break! I don't know where she has so much money to spare but I guess she is a high flyer now and could afford a trip like this.

Sharon is one of those people who believe in working hard and playing equally hard. She told me that she rented an Orlando Villa that is so luxurious that she felt like she could stay there forever and not return to LA to WORK! Who invented WORK anyway?

You know what, if she could fly her friends there, she could fly me out there too but she did not. Oh, the nerve! :p

Should I Try Muscle Milk?

A blog reader came across a previous post of mine with me complaining how tired I always am. Well, how can I not be tired when I have been going to bed at 6 and 7 am for the past week? Heck, I am not TIRED, I feel like DYING.

Anyway, this guy told me that he has been taking something called muscle milk to help him recharge his batteries. Eh, seriously, I have not heard of muscle milk before. I have heard of mother's milk, goat's milk, cow's milk but not muscle milk but it sure sounds delicious!

If muscle milk could recharge my energy like how I recharge my cell phone battery that would be great. I still have lots of commitments to meet and sometimes I wonder how much longer I can last like this. I think getting some supplements would help. Perhaps I would try this muscle milk!

Dear Crissy's $50 Giveaway

This morning, I had some free time to blog hop and came across Crissy's blog at DearCrissy.com. I have visited her blog a few times previously and am always in awe of her artistic talent. Check out her artwork, handcrafted jewelry and photography. I always have a secret respect for creative people because... well, I can't even draw stick people to save my life *sigh*

Anyway, Crissy came up with this idea to link bait 50 for $50 cash. Anyone with a blog can participate and stands a chance to win the cash. I wonder how many chances I have if I participate with my multiple blogs. PLUS I hope that when she says $50 for 50 WORDS, she can't mean literally?

Go over to Crissy’s blog to check out the rules of the game. Good luck to meeeeeeeee!!!!

Shape Up Or Ship Out

If you recall, I have a friend who is very fat like a small hippopotamus. I think he has some metabolism problem but I dare not ask him about it because it is a sensitive issue. He keeps saying that he is comfortable with his size though I am not sure if he is physically comfortable, if you know what I am saying! But he has a heart of gold, really, and makes such a dear friend.

The other night I was out with him, he confessed that he is taking something called Miracle burn because he is tired of his size and weight. Well, he could NEVER find something that fits him well, poor guy. And his girlfriend has been telling him to shape up or ship out!

Eeekkk time to do something about it, dude!

I encouraged him to go for REAL exercise and not depend on supplements like these but he says he does not have the time to hit the gym. One thing I don't understand and suspect that it's not for lack of exercise that he ballooned to such a size is that he works so hard going all over the place, checking on his factory and office and yet he can't burn the fat off his body. Strange, huh?

Colourful Dell Notebooks

Did you all see the new range of Dell notebooks? They come in so many colours now but they look like cheap cousins to Sony Vaio. Dell is half the price of a basic Sony Vaio. I am trying my best to resist buying a notebook for now. I MUST NOT SUCCUMB!

My friend says I do not need a notebook so why buy it. It is true also and I can get online from my device. BUT IT IS SO GOOD TO HAVE. The only problem is that if I have a notebook, it will only be sitting on my desk and not as if I have anywhere to take it to, except maybe to the toilet lol

Come to think of it, I don't even know where to buy Dell notebooks from a local shop except online from the Dell website. Does anyone know if Dells are sold in computer shops? I really have no confidence in buying something as expensive as notebooks online. Besides, the other day when I was window shopping in Courts and tried typing on those notebooks on display, I did not like the keyboard of those notebooks. They are noisy while I am looking for soft touch keyboard. I can't test out Dell notebooks unless I go to a shop to try it out.

I don't even have the intention to buy from Courts as they are expensive and do not provide technical support but I like it that they allow customers to test as much as they like until they are satisfied.

I MUST RESISTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!
