Choosing The Best UK Broadband Package

When my cousin first went to work in the UK, it was difficult days for her. Everything was unfamiliar. Even looking for the best broardband package was a chore. There are so many to choose from with each provider dangling a goodie bigger than its competitor, so unlike here where the internet broadband is mostly monopolised.

For example,
BT Broardband could be offering £500 worth of Dabs vouchers while Sky Broardband offers access to 300 TV channels on Sky TV and free phone calls on Sky Talk.

As if it is not difficult enough to decide on BT Broadband or Sky Broadband, in comes
Tiscali Broardband with its low priced value for money unlimited broadband internet access without a cap on download bandwidth. See, even choosing the best broadband package is so confusing!

But I Not Yet Profit Take!!!!!

When you're down, you really hit rock bottom. That was what I have been told. I have been so preoccupied with my monkey lately, and this stupid share that I am stuck with rose to more that my purchase price plus commission with profit to spare. And no one told me about it!

I came home to check that it has fallen back before trading ended for the day. It was too late for me to sell.

And today, KLSE fell 6% of its Composite Index. What to do now??? How long will I still be stuck with it? It drains me just to keep track of it every trading day. Sometimes I feel like selling it even if I'm going to make a loss.

And where was my remisier when the price went up? From experience, remisiers will only call you up when the price falls and not when it rises to ask you if you want to sell it.

Maybe they are afraid that when it falls too low and we lose too much, we will not be able to pay him? Oh come on, nowadays no time to play contra anymore. What is there to be afraid of?

AapkaVideo - Indian YouTube

My friend knows that I surf the internet too much. He was asking me where he could find videos of Bollywood actresses and Bollywood MTVs. Of course there is only one place for that, the Indian YouTube, AapkaVideo - Desi Videos.

Not only are there videos of entertainers but also user generated videos that are uploaded on the site to be downloaded and shared among members. It is like a video sharing community for the Indians and fans of Indian stars.

My friend was very happy with my recommendation and he said that not only can he now watch his favorite movie stars on video but also sports clips like cricket and tennis, which can be easily found via tags.

Getting Fired Soon

Well, like mentioned in a previous post, I haven't worked since before Chinese New Year holidays. I had thought that I would be working THROUGH it and even declared so to my friend Paul. He told me to take a break, and my, what a long "break" it has been.

This is not the kind of break that I wish for. This "break" exhausts me emotionally, mentally and physically. It knocks me out at the end of the day.

I have taken MC after MC, leave after leave, I am begining to sound phony. I am silly to risk my job for my monkey. But if I don't stand by my monkey, who will? If I do not give him this chance, who will?

Some people think I am crazy, well they will never understand me. That's because my monkey is only important to ME. Isn't is sad? He has nobody except me and his brother. I am going to stand by them till the end no matter what.

Live Earth Concerts

Do you know the significance of 7th July, 2007? Many people have already made plans for it. The music world will be anticipating the Live Earth Concerts which will happen on that day.

There will be seven megaconcerts across seven continents and these concerts are collectively called Live Earth against Global Warming. These concerts are concerts for a climate in crisis. Live Earth Concerts serves as a reminder to many of us to take better care of our Mother Earth.

Proceeds from these seven megaconcerts, after deducting cost for staging them, will go towards the Alliance for Climate Protection, currently chaired by former American Vice President, Al Gore. Alliance for Climate Protection will start a new global program to combat climate crisis.

This is a massive program for a good cause and we should all support its cause.

What It Takes To Be A Boyfriend

Recently, a friend told me to help him make a purchase from and online store. It is actually a pair of La Senza lingerie and although there are La Senza boutiques in Malaysia, it seems this particular set is not available in Malaysia, so he has to purchase online and since he does not have a credit card, I offered to buy on his behalf.

Anyway, the lingerie set is only USD40 but shipping by courier is another USD60. That converts to almost MYR350. Can you imagine buying a lingerie set for MRY350? If I were to buy that for myself, I must have been insane!

I mean, it's not as if the lingerie set was anything great, the only thing was its brand name. But the girlfriend wants it and the girlfriend shall have it.

Phew! Thank god I'm not a guy!

A Holistic Approach Towards Better Pet Health

Although I have been saddled with two sick pets since a long time ago, it is never easy to take care of pets that get sick one after another or worse, both at the same time. It's not that I am complaining, but sometimes I just wish for some respite.

I feel that I can give them better than what conventional medication can offer. Medicine can only do so much, that's why I keep searching for ways to relieve their stress in being sickly all the time.

My search brought me to Sacred Paws, a website with a wealth of information on holistic care for pets. The articles on the site are pretty comprehensive and simple to understand.

I will use my new found knowledge on my beloved pets and hope that they will have renewed health soon.

Slippery When Wet 20th Anniversary (SWW XX)

It really is hard to believe that it has been twenty years since Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet was released. It was just like yesterday when I first heard this song. Till now, I still think that Slippery When Wet is one of Bon Jovi's best albums, if not THE BEST. Many people must be thinking so too.

Until today, Livin' On A Prayer has been the anthem of my life. It gives us hope and strength to believe that everything will be all right if we just hold on for a little bit more. We are already half way there!

I feel that subsequent albums from Bon Jovi paled in comparison maybe apart from Blaze of Glory, but that album is a soundtrack album and should not be counted. And you do know what I think of "Who Says You Can't Go Home"
.

My Sister's Home Improvement Projects

My sister, who bought a new house last year, is still busy with little home improvement projects. She has some spare cash to decorate her interior as her boss paid for her bathroom remodeling. She remodels it by theme and color but I do not understand why she wants to make it so beautiful since she isn't even spending more than a couple of hours in there per day!

After the bathroom, she proceeded to do kitchen remodeling. She likes a modern and uncluttered kitchen, unlike our kitchen at home, but again, she doesn't spend that much time cooking. She is always on a microwave dinner diet.

Anyway, I must admit that she really have good taste, from the photos she sent me. I can't wait to go for a visit soon.

Changed Vet

Today, we went to another vet that was recommended by my brother's friend. This vet is touted as currently the best vet in town. I heard about him previously, but have not known anyone who has consulted him before, so I did not go there. Yes, word of mouth is still very important when it comes to medical care for humans and animals.

So I went there in the morning first and later took my monkey in for an examination in the afternoon. You see, I haven't been able to work since before Chinese New Year. I may be fired soon.

We spent a total of three hours there and by the end of the day, we were all exhausted. I forked out RM283 for this visit alone. We still have four days to go to see through this course of medication and each visit will cost me at least RM100. Thank God I am still able to afford the best medical care for him or I would feel damn guilty.

I hope that this is the right course of action to take and that my monkey will recover his health by the end of the week.

Please pray for my monkey.

Wally's Real Rhythm and Blues Plus Doo Wop

I spend so much time on the computer that I feel it is a waste of bandwidth if I do not listen to internet radio as well. In one of my searches for music that I rarely buy, I came across Wally's Real Rhythm and Blues Plus Doo Wop. Doo Wop is not something I normally listen to but I enjoy the music nonetheless.

Wally's Real Rhythm and Blues Plus Doo Wop is hosted by the creative Wally Swinton. His Real R&B Radio could possibly be internet's best R&B broadcaster and it comes on to us live from Mondays to Fridays from 3 to 6pm.

The classic soundtrack of my life would be Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye. There are many more great songs, of course but this one comes to mind because of the message in the song.

Besides the great music, there is also a contest going on in "The Name Game Contest"™ where for only 99cents per entry. The challenge is to give nicknames to prominent personalities that we think befits the public persona and the best entrant will win a great prize.

Current personalities are Rush Limbaugh and Bill Clinton. My nickname for Bill Clinton would be Bill "The Sax" Clinton.

If you too love R&B and Doo Wop oldies, tune in to Wally's internet radio. You will be entertained with some of the greatest music of these genres as every record played was a hit back then.

Also put on your thinking cap right now and turn your 99cents into a great prize.

Phishing Email From "Paypal"

Today, I received a phishing email from "Paypal". If I were slightly inexperience, I would have clicked on the link provided in the email. Actually, I was about to deleted the mail without even opening it but thought I'd just take a screenshot. I was careful not to accidentally click anywhere, though.

If you have read the phishing mail in its entirely, it is scary when they threaten to suspend your Paypal account.

First of all, Paypal ALWAYS addresses its members by name and secondly, this mail that landed in the Spam Folder of my e-mail isn't in Paypal's system. So bah!

Choosing The Right Recreational Vehicle

When my cousin who lives in the United Kingdom told me how huge the RV industry has become, I was curious. It has been my dream to own a recreational vehicle myself and to travel the countryside as and when I like and ideally, I don't have to be the person driving it!

I checked out various RV sites online and came to TravelWorld, which is the sole factory agent for seven top RV manufacturers. This company also holds the largest and most complete range of new and pre-owned American RVs in the United Kingdom.

With 28 years of experience, TravelWorld can be considered an authority in RVs.

Although I may not have enough money to purchase one, that doesn't stop me from finding out on
RV's choosing the right one.

TravelWorld has a wonderful video FAQ that answers many questions in an easy going way on RVs in general and the specifics. Watching videos beat reading text anytime! At least that is the case for me.

The questions covered in the video FAQ include the differences in European and American RVs and I feel that this is one of the important issues to know so that a serious buyer can make an informed purchase.

Children Nowadays Are So Lucky

My cousin's daughter is only ten years old and her father has already bought her a Dell multimedia computer. Her mother, my cousin, passed away two years ago, so everyone is treating the children like porcelain.

Ten years old only, what does she know about computers and how to use and maintain it, except for playing games? Her dad is also computer illiterate so he says it's better to buy branded for the warranty in case they are cheated by unscrupulous chinaman computer shops who always "claim" something is out of order when it is not.

Thinking back, I was not so lucky to have people buy me a computer. I had to sweat for it and at that time, computers were very expensive. Desktop computers with lauyah specs were sold at about RM2500. That was a fortune for me and all I could afford was a clone no-frills set up with a 14in screen. Wow, I treated it like gold, man, and used it till the processor died.

P/S: I still think computers are expensive!

Printer AIO Going, Going, Gone

I mentioned earlier that I was waiting for PC Fair to buy myself a printer all-in-one. It was supposed to be a treat, actually. Since my monkey fell ill, I have decided that I am going to shelf my plans to indulge in a printer AIO.

Not that I am complaining or anything, but I have spent a few hundred Ringgit this past week in medical expenses, special food and other necessities on my monkey. It really is expensive without pet insurance, but I do want to give him the best that I can, so I am not going to spend on a luxury item like a printer AIO.

Hopefully, my monkey gets better soon and I get to shore up my reserves again, then only think of buying the printer AIO again.

Dangers of Asbestos

Many people do not know the dangers of Asbestos. Eventhough I do know, it is not easy to stay away from using asbestos because most houses use asbestos in one thing or another. When I build my own house, I am going to make sure that it is asbestos-free for the well-being of my family.

Right now, I am trying to spread the message to my family, friends and associates to try to stay away from the use of asbestos. I found a website that brings forth the message of the dangers of asbestos in a humorous way.

It is easier to educate people this way, in a light-hearted way.

You Sound So Sad

I just got off the phone with my friend and he told me that I sound so sad. He told me exactly the same thing last year when I was bogged down by Boon's illness. It was strange that Boon himself was more positive than I and he was the one suffering!

How does he expect me to sound like when my monkey is so sick? No way can I bring myself to be cheery and all just to entertain his phone call.

I just make bad company right now. I look sad and sound sad and talk sad, I'll only be rubbing my misery onto others.

I just want to hibernate and wallow in my own sadness. I am depressed.

The Ultimate Gift Movie

Have you heard of the movie, "The Ultimate Gift"? It is going to be released on 9th March, 2007 in over 800 North American theaters but has already been creating huge waves. The over 300 pre-screenings have resulted in over US$5 millions in charity donations and we can only expect more donations when the movie is released by 20th Century Fox next month.

This is the official site of the movie "The Ultimate Gift" and the grass-roots movement its starting to help charities and give to others.

This movie is based on the book of the same name, which has been an underground hit and sold four million copies. This heart-felt, values orientated movie has sparked the establishment of teen philanthropy initiative called Show of Hands.

Basically, the message in the book and then the movie version is that everyone has a powerful gift to share. We can connect with our friends, family and the people around us and help anyone who is in need.

This movie stars the Academy Award nominee, Abigail Breslin, so it will be an added bonus to watch The Ultimate Gift. Her co-stars include James Garner, Ali Hillis, Drew Fuller and Brian Dennehy.

I tell you, this movie is simply not to be missed!

Very Rice!

It has been raining daily for the past two weeks in my cow town! Argh every time the wind blows a little stronger, my fatty monkey gets agitated.

Prolonged anxiety attacks with induce his seizure. I have tried medicating him but it just made him listless for a few hours and he went into seizure a few days later. The vet prescribed him Diazepam (I will forever remember this drug!) and I specifically asked if it will have any side effects, with my monkey's medical background and he said no.

See, how can I trust the vets anymore?

Anyway, whenever it rains, I am damn rice. I can't work, can't rest and can't go out to stock up on some supplies for my other monkey. It's not that I begrudge him but I wonder why can't these two be like other pets who are fun and make great companions and stress relievers?

Maybe I owe them something last life and now is payback time *sigh*

I am sad, I am depressed. My heart aches.

View On Credit Cards

Did you know that it is very easy to apply for credit cards? One person can hold numerous cards even though he doesn't earn that much.

There should be a central checking system where each person can only own the cards that he qualifies for accumulatively. This is to ensure that his income really can pay off his credit card debts on time.

I feel that people who are not disciplined in managing their finances should never apply for a credit card as he will only incur more and more debts.

Having said that, if you already have a credit card and should you wish to transfer your credit balance, it is important to look for cards that give you
0% balance transfers. And if you can couple this with 0% credit cards for three to six months then it would be ideal.

5 Reasons Why I Blog

I saw this meme on some blogs and thought that I would do it even though nobody tagged me!

I started this blog on 2nd May, 2006. At that time, I was upset over something, and I needed an avenue to pour my heart out somewhere. A blog is a good place to do so, since I could maintain anonymity.

So here are 5 reasons why I blog:

1. To have an avenue to express myself
I needed to release the thoughts in my head.

2. To kill time
When I started this blog, I was at a lull and had some free time on my hands

3. As a challenge
I knew nothing about blogging or traffic or pinging so it was a challenge to learn everything from scratch.

4. To record my nightmares
I have too many of these that it would be good to record down and see which actually comes true in the future.

5. To diss the people that pisses me off in real life
An anonymous blog is just what I need to do this! haha!

Pet Insurance For Peace Of Mind

Faithful blog readers would know that I am currently taking care of my very sick monkey. It is very distressing to have a sick pet that is like a member of the family and yet being saddled with all the medical bills.

Each visit to the vet cost me almost a hundred dollars. While I hope to be able to provide the best medical care for my monkey, it is not that easy when savings are dwindling. I wish that I had bought a
pet insurance policy so that at times like these, I can concentrate fully on taking care of my pet's health and not worry about when the next trip to the vet is going to be paid for.

With this dilemma that I am facing, it is too late to regret but I would definitely have my pet covered next time.

Why Are You Looking So Sad?

That was the question I was asked.

Have you ever seen anyone happy when they are sad? When their heart is in pieces? I look sad because I am sad. Full stop.

I can't help but to mope around as long as there is no closure. I feel bad for passing my miserable mood to other people. I know, I know, nobody cares how my monkey is. It's a long and lonely journey that I am forced to take with my monkey. Only the two of us.

Why do people even need to care? If my monkey dies now, the world will still be going on its merry way while I am left to mend my broken heart.

My Parents' Trip To Mexico Last Year

I hardly have time for a holiday but my parents are retirees who have a 101 excuses to go on holidays. I wouldn't say that they are lucky, but they have already worked their share so it's now time to enjoy life.

One of their trips last year was to Mexico. I think I have mentioned this somewhere on my blogs before. Although they complain of the scorching weather in Malaysia, they prefer to holiday by the beach side. Mexico was perfect for them.

They spent a wonderful two weeks at the
playa del carmen hotel, which is a beach fronted luxury hotel. They brought home many photos of their trip and I must say that it was like paradise on earth. I too wish that I am able to make a vacation there myself!

Monkey Update

Today was the day we were supposed to take the monkey in for an x-ray. The plan was for the vet to come to my house, sedate my poor monkey and then send him to another clinic for x-rays to be taken.

However, my family decided that the monkey, without eating properly for one week already, is too weak to be sedated.

For one, the vet came and without even checking on my monkey, already prepared the anesthetics. I thought that a doctor was supposed to check the patient's heartbeat first?

Secondly, this vet is always giving heavy dosage without taking the patient's age and physical condition into consideration. I started to utilise his services last year when my fatty monkey was very sick and the regular vet who runs an animal clinic five minutes away from my house gave up on him.

In the first visit, no doubt, his diagnosis was accurate and the medicine was right, but the dosage was too heavy.

After giving my fatty monkey his medicine, his heart started to palpitate so fast and he couldn't even rest or stay still. He walked up and down the house from 1am to 1pm. That was a long twelve hours indeed. After that, perhaps the medicine has passed from his body, he settled down but that long night KO-ed him for a few days where he could not walk AT ALL.

Subsequently, whenever I get any medicine from him, I had to half his dosage.

Today, I had to ask him to see my monkey first before giving the injection. He is so weak, what if he cannot wake up from the anesthesia? Who will be responsible?

Anyway, he was rather angry with me for not letting him know that I have postponed the x-ray session. Maybe he was thinking of his income today. The reason I did not let him know beforehand was because he would not have come and check on my monkey otherwise.

So, he dispensed medication to strengthen my monkey which costs a total of RM60, and another RM20 for the house call. I had to go to his clinic which is more than 30 minutes away, to collect the medicine as he came empty handed with the sole purpose of taking my monkey to be x-rayed.

And he had to frighten me by saying that he hopes that within these five days to complete his medication, which my monkey is refusing to take, my monkey's condition will not deteriorate further.

The Essence Of America

One thing that surprises me about Americans, besides their love for sports, is their patriotism. They are so proud of their country and WILL show it whenever there is an opportunity.

When I came across an online store that sells patriotic posters of American flags and other red & white stripped memorabilia, I had to smile.

These items make great gifts to anyone who loves to wear their patriotism on their sleeve, or to the tourist who has been to America, or even someone who dreams of going to America because things like these are so American. In essence, it sums up what Americans are like; hot-blooded and proud of their American Dream.

Lost Our Way

The other day I was supposed to be a tour guide to a friend who came to my cow town for a visit. I am ashamed to admit I could not take him to any famous makan places. It was late and it was during Chinese New Year so most of the places were either closed or filled with people but we could not afford the time to wait.

We even lost our way and were going further and further away from town centre. I panicked as I had to be home by a certain time to take care of my monkeys.

Thank God he had his GPS device with him and he had earlier marked the location of his hotel. Whoa the thing was pretty good, even I was impressed. At least it brought us back to the places where I could recognise. Phew!

But it was embarrassing to not be able to find my way in the town I grew up in.

A Political Forum

If you enjoy politics like my family, then you would be delighted to know that there is a politics forum dedicated to all things politics.

On the front page, though, is a full page of news headlines from various sources. You will need to click on the link "Visit the Politics Forum" at the top of the page to enter the forum.

Once in there though, you can see various politic talk neatly categorized into current events, upcoming elections, media, political history, conspiracy theories and political humor, as well as other political issues like the war on terrorism, economy, civil and human rights, religion and other legislature.

With these straightforward categories, it is very easy to chat about the topics that you are interested in, but you will have to register yourself with the site first.

I am glad to discover some healthy debates going on and people write intelligently and accept each other's views, which is what a responsible forum should be like.

Another Day Wasted

Today was another day wasted because we were not able to take my monkey for an x-ray because the clinic where we were supposed to go to is still closed for Chinese New Year. I told them this is an urgent case. It has been what, five days since my monkey stopped eating? I purposely went out to buy something special for him just so he tries to eat a little but it will comes out in a mess a few hours later.

But no siree, urgent or not, these people are not going to work on the 5th day of Chinese New Year. The reality is, this is a business for them. That my monkey is dying is my own problem. They are not going to make an exception to work on the 5th day lest their spoil their luck for the whole year.

This just pisses me off. It is now not just another day wasted, but another day my monkey is wasting away!

Ideal Gift For My Sister's Home

After my relatives' recommendation of Desa's Online Outlet Store, I surfed the site more and came across gas log heaters that would make a great gift for my sister's new home.

A vent-free natural gas log heater is what I am eyeing as it puts out three times more heat than normal
gas logs or wood, heats up to 1,300 sq. ft. area and is 99% heat efficient. I believe this is well-worth the $399 I will be paying for.

I know my sister would be more than happy to have this from me and it will make a great addition to an already lovely home.

Smells Like Cucumber

A friend gave me a bottle of Dove shower cream. I am actually a soap person. I used to have lots of Johnson & Johnson's products as my cousin was working there. You would not believe the products that they label "sample". Suffice to say, I do not see any difference in size from what are sold at the pharmacy.

As said, I am a soap person and with all these "samples" I gave them away to my other cousin from the other side of the family. But since this Dove shower cream is a gift, I will be using it. Oh my, how luxurious. I just hope that when I have finished it, I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BOTTLE BY MYSELF!

There was once in the past where I was grateful even if we could afford only soap. And although I can well afford shower cream now, I want to be reminded of my humble past and not waste money on something like shower cream.

A Propane Heater We Shall Have!

My relatives came to my house for an overnight stay during the recent holidays and were shocked to discover that we do not have a modern heater. They suggested that we buy propane heaters as these are very reliable, doesn't cost an arm or a leg and can be easily installed.

According to my relatives, we can either buy a new propane heater or if we want to save cost, we can buy a reconditioned unit by the original factory from Desa's Online Outlet Store. This sounds like good news to us, since we would be able to stretch our budget.

So, a propane heater we shall have!

A Test of Trust

So last night, I did something that I have never did before. I placed trust on somebody that I hardly knew beyond his name and a little more. Well, it is sort of like placing your life on the hands of the airplane pilot. In a flight, all you ever know is the Captain's name and that's it. And yet passengers trust him enough to get on his plane and pray that everyone will arrive at their destination in one piece.

It is like going into surgery, and trusting the surgeon to do the right thing and not f@rk up the job.

I did neither of those but if my trust had been misplaced, I would have been marred for life. No, I will not die like people do in an air crash or on the operating table, but I will be marred.

I did not believe that I could be that brave and yet I am mighty glad that my fears were unfounded as yet.

Exquisite Jewelry For Any Body Part

Last night, I came across a Body Jewelry online store that I just have to share. The jewelry pieces sold here are so exquisite and there ae SO many products that there is sure to be something for the nose, tongue, belly button, eyebrow, nipple and just about any body part.

These jewelry are so beautiful they make me want to buy even though I myself do not have any body piercing except for the ears!

These pieces from a great selection at very reasonable prices will make great gifts and I myself will sure to get some of these for friends which body piercing!

The Wait Is Killing Me

I don't call my town lauyah for nothing. I have waited for DAYS for medical treatment for my monkey. So I have decided that we should at least give him a chance by taking him in for an x-ray and what am I told? It has to be ARRANGED and that I will be called at the first available opportunity.

I was told by my vet, who does not have x-ray or ultra scan facilities at his own clinic, to take my monkey to either place A or B. You say lauyah or not?

And I have been told that my monkey has to be SEDATED just to take a few exposures. Need to go through such lengths meh? For Heaven's sake, he hasn't eaten for days and has even refused medicine; he won't even have the energy to do his trademark lion dance jumping around to avoid the x-rays.

Honestly speaking, I am just so exhausted with everything that is going on and yet I am dreading each minute as it comes. I make ultra bad company right now.

Oh, My Eyebags!

Last night, I met a friend and he was surprised to see that my eyebags have gotten bigger than the last time he saw me. I am not sure if there's any connection, but they have grown larger and darker because I do not have enough rest. In any case, they sure make me LOOK tired all the time and older than I really am!

He told me that it's now very common to have
blepharoplasty done. In fact, it is one of the most common cosmetic surgery performed on women AND men. Yup, men do want to look good too.

I would like to get a blepharoplasty one day soon.

Remaining Anonymous

Sometimes, I feel that I should have let my friends and family know of the existence of this blog, then they can see for themselves how busy I am and know that I am not joking when I tell them that I pangsai also no time.

Also, I need to reply to emails of the same questions one by one. They can all read everything from here.

But then if they do know, it will make me curb my writing and I won't be able to write down that tonight, I did something behind my parents' back. I am so naughty no wonder they do not trust me even though I am legally an adult.

Hoodia Side Effects

Hoodia is the new weight loss weapon and many people wondered what are the hoodia side effects. Well, maybe the side effect was not thinking of FOOD all day long or eat less and still feel full. This way, many people managed to achieve their weight loss plan without adverse side effects to the body.

In fact, 69 people were lucky enough to give their testimonials on 60 Minutes and Oprah, showing their results data and before and after pictures.

Of course, some people reported that they had no change in their weight but Hoodia has been helpful to many people.

X-Ray or No X-Ray?

If you have been following my blog, you will know that my skinny monkey isn't doing well. He has not been eating normally like he should and whatever food that I managed to make him eat will be vomited out.

He has been having difficultly in urinating, which has actually been a problem for the past couple of years but now, he is dribble urine non-stop even when he is sleeping.

I am in to minds over what I should do for him. For one, I know that he is already at his 13th year and he is not young anymore. If this is the effects of old age, I do not wish to put him through more stress than he is already facing by making him go for tests and such.

Now the vet tells me that he needs my monkey to be x-rayed before he comes up with a proper diagnosis and treatment. And he tells me that he needs to give him sedative. I wanted something less invasive but there is no such thing available.

I really don't know what I should do.

Snores Should Be Treated

My dad has been snoring very loudly when he sleeps but he did not look at is as a sleep disorder and thought it did not warrant treatment.

After I read about it on the internet, I let him know that what he is experiencing may be obstructive
sleep apnia and it is a sleeping disorder that can be treated. Now we know why that he sometimes wakes up with a headache and felt as if he did not rest at all.

When he lies down, the upper airway in his throat is collapsed thus reducing blood oxygen saturation.

So for treatment, the doctor has prescribed the use of a CPAP mask. It has helped a little for now and we are hoping for more improvements in time to come.

Look Who Won!

A few days ago, I published a post wondering aloud who will win the Fuel My Blog review competition. Well, the results were announced finally announced. The winners were chosen. The prizes dispensed.

And one of the winners were my best buddy, Cyberpartygal, who won herself a cool $100.

The announcement was made on the official
Fuel My Blog Blog.

You can read the joint-winning entry
Fuel My Blog - Internet's Next Big Thing and compare it with my own Riding the Fuel My Blog Bandwagon *sigh*

It would be a dream come true if Cyberpartygal won $100 and I won the other $100! Is it too early to dream?

The One Account Mortgage

My sister took out a 35-year mortgage to buy her dream house recently. While other people in her situation struggle to meet their mortgage installments monthly, my sister did not allow this huge pile of debt to accumulate interest. She has a One Account Mortgage that shrinks her mortgage instead.

The One account is actually an account that combines mortgage and salary and/or savings into one account. With salary and/or savings counted towards mortgage debt, she only has to pay interest on the reduced sum.

Not only that, the One Account mortgage is very flexible. She can pay more if you can afford it and she can also slack for a bit in case she is tight financially.

She told me that the One Account is what people saddled with a mortgage should have.

What I Don't Like About Chinese New Year

... is gatherings with family or friends. Well, this year, there's no family gathering since no one bothered to come back. But friends, a friend is not coming back as his father passed away in December, 2006, so he is still in mourning. Two are overseas, one may even come to my house to look for me as he hasn't seen me online for months now. And by the way, I hate people coming to my house without notice, so if you do know my address, please don't come.

As for the rest, I am sure they will be back but as long as nobody organises any gathering, I will be safe. If they do get together and I don't turn up, they will think I am eksi, which I really am not.

These gatherings and meet ups make me recall an incident that happened a few years back.

Once, my Russian pen-pal and his mother made a trip to Malaysia for a holiday. He wanted to make a detour to my hometown which is a big hassle since my town has no international airport. So, I told him that I will not be able to meet him even if he comes because at that time, my grandma was at her death bed and we all had to standby.

Anyway, I asked a friend to treat my pen-pal and his mother to a meal before they leave. My friend said he called and left a message at the hotel but my pen-pal did not get back to him. On the other hand, my pen-pal said no one left him any message at all.

And the problem was I don't even know who was telling the truth. Long story short, he has stopped contacting me since then.

So, yeah, somebody can be so unreasonable. I know he came all the way here from Central Asia, but I have my duty to do as a grand-daughter. It wasn't as it things were planned.

*sigh*

Luftman, Heck and Associates

My colleague recently moved to Columbus, Ohio and asked for my help in looking for a Columbus attorney. That led me to the website of a law firm, Luftman, Heck and Associates. The internet is so great that even firms offering professional services need a web presence.

What I like about them is that they offer free consultation. What one has to do is just submit a form with name, email address and phone numbers and their team of paralegals will make a phone call to him. Unfortunately, this service is only open to residents of Columbus OH.

Although Luftman, Heck & Associates, LLP is primarily a debt relief agency, helping people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code, they are also well versed in DUI laws or help people with traffic violations among other offences.

That is because the team of paralegals in this law firm comprises attorneys of many specialities like personal injury, estate planning or criminal defense. There is a lawyer here for almost all aspects of law.

For example, if you have violated DUI laws in Ohio, don't you think that you would need a
Columbus OH DUI Attorney? You can find him in Luftman & Heck.

Enforced Break

Earlier this year when my friend Paul asked me what are my plans for Chinese New Year, I told him that I will be working through it. I gave him the same reply as recently as two weeks ago. He told me to take a break. He will too, by going to Frances Yip's concert IF he has no other better things to do.

He knows me all too well as he caught me many times running on his Eastern Standard Time.

Little did I know that I would be put on an enforced break. Everyone who knows me knows that my monkeys are my number one priority. One is sick now and I am not in the right frame of mind to do any work at all. Like I told a friend, it's not death that I am afraid of but rather the unknown journey to the end. My mind goes ballistic just thinking of the many possibilities.

Because of this, I am all stressed and exhausted, and have allowed a whole weeks' worth of work to slide. I will be suffering the consequences later but for now, I can't even think straight, let alone work.

I guess I did have a break during the Chinese New Year holidays, just not the kind that I would wish for, definitely not the kind that I anticipated.

Tubal Reversal and Pregnancy Information

I found a great website on Tubal reversal and pregnancy information which I believe will be useful to my cousin sister.

Five years ago, she underwent tubal ligation but she is now yearning for a child again. I believe that Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is the place that she should look to meet her new needs.

Of course, this procedure may not be right for every woman, but my cousin sister prefers to become pregnant again naturally. She said nothing beats the feeling of carrying a child in the womb for nine months and the birthing process is something no woman should miss out on.

I would be more than happy to inform her that it is possible to undergo a tubal reversal procedure.

I Wanna Cry NOW

The medication hasn't helped. So the vet says that my monkey needs to be x-rayed. As it is Chinese New Year now, there is nothing much anyone can do since all the businesses are closed.

He told me to contact him on Tuesday and we will take the monkey to be x-rayed somewhere else, not at his clinic. I have no idea where, what is the distance or how much it will cost. The vet says he does not want to spoil my Chinese New Year mood. Well, it is already spoilt! Has been spoilt for years!

As it is now, I am not even celebrating Chinese New Year. What is there to celebrate? My heart is at the pit of my stomach. I don't feel well. I just don't have a good feeling about this.

Somebody, please help me!

All Things Paintball

My friend, Exkay, is a paintball national player. He has represented the country in numerous competitions and tournaments and won a few trophies too. My love for paintball came from watching him and his team members play and fight for glory for the country.

Although I would love to participate too, I have a low threshold for pain and from the blue black spots on Exkay's body; they sure look painful enough to put me off from playing paintball myself.

However, that does not stop me from watching the game or cheering my friends on or even watch
paintball videos online, which is now my number one pastime.

Exkay introduced me to PBVids.com, the home of free paintball videos, games, pictures, downloads and my favorite, paintball giveaways! It also is a forum board that surprisingly is very active with fellow paintball lovers.

There are PLENTY of high resolution photos of paintball games in action of professional teams from 2005 and 2006 shot by the staff of PBVids.com.

We get to watch the videos and then if we wish, discuss about the video or the game play or tactic and so on.

Or we can play the online games that are available, post our highest score up and compete against other members of the board. The interactivity is the fun part of the PBVids community. Everyone is ever so helpful, warm and friendly and welcomed a newbie member like me with open arms so that I can easily integrate with other members. I feel that this is a board that all paintball players, hobbyists and enthusiast should converge for the love of paintball.

On a side note, I find it very amusing that free shipping is offered on orders above $1.00 from purchases made through their online store. That means virtually anyone who purchases something will qualify for free shipping!

Googe Valentine

I was too busy to post this up on Valentine's Day. I had the screenshot on my desktop for ages and did not get round to writing up a post for it. I am as busy as can be.

Did anyone of you notice Google making a big blunder with the Google logo image on Valentine's Day? Well, I did.

It is funny that even a large corporation like Google can make such a blunder. This image has now been filed in Google Header image gallery.

It would be understandable if I committed such an error since I am so blur all the time, but Googe? hehehe

Unsigned Bands

I was bored with the contemporary music scene and was thinking that there has got to be better music out there, hasn't there?

My friend, who works in a record company, directed me to Unsigned.com. It is his job to keep track of new, unsigned bands to see which band is worthy of a recording contract.

Well, I explored Unsigned.com with an open mind and came away amazed by the raw talent of the artistes!

My current favorites are the
Metalcore Bands. It is very easy to listen to the music and to my delight, everyday I log in to discover new music. I can feel that most of the bands on Unsigned.com will make it very far, given their talent and creativity.

No Reunion Dinner

This has been just another year where we did not have a reunion dinner. Our extended family is scattered all around the world that nobody bothers to organize it since my grandmother passed away a few years ago.

No reunion, no big deal. Food, family gathering and ang pows are the last things on my mind. It is just as well. may not even go if there was one and that will cause the family to gossip that I am not giving them "face". Well, who cares? I have once again been housebound for the past week.

My house hasn't been cleaned and there are no Chinese New Year cookies, groundnuts, pomelo or mandarin oranges in the house. How unsuperstitious can one get?

Chinese New Year or not, I really don't care.

Expanding My Social Circle With Just Say Hi!

Friends were horrified when they found out that I am STILL single. They told me that I shouldn't waste time waiting and that I should instead take control of the situation by expanding my social circle in as many ways as possible.

They told me about a
free online dating social site called Just Say Hi! They said that it is a very fun and interesting site where single like-minded people meet.

One of them shared with me his experience with Just Say Hi and it does sound exciting. He told me that this was where he met his wife. Wow!

So I guess I will be off to register myself on Just Say Hi. Membership is free and there's nothing to lose!

My Blog, My Diary

I used to keep a diary when I was little. At the beginning of every year, I would start a fresh diary and end up not knowing what to write. Usually, it was just something stupid. Maybe that was why I did not bother to start diaries any longer.

Now, I am feeling like I'm treating my blog as an open diary, like how I recorded my 5kg weight loss, the nightmares and milestones of my monkeys, the debts and especially who has been treating me right, who hasn't. Haha!

These are all personal stuff, that's why I don't mind if there are no readers. Readers are a bonus, comments more so.

When I started this blog, I also did not set it up to generate traffic, otherwise I would have blogged on controversial issues and I am not an attention whore either.

Anyway, this blog is serving its purpose well of giving me an avenue to release the voice in my head. It does not matter if no one hears me.

Private thoughts in a public domain - Boon

Robert Ferringos' 2007 NFL Mock Draft

Having been to the United States, I know how crazy about sports Americans are. I too picked up a passion for American football. It is hard not to when everyone you meet eat football, talk football and sleep football.

While the NFL is taking a break, I had a great time reading Robert Ferringos' views on the upcoming
2007 NFL Mock Draft.

I would like to see how accurate his views are when the new season starts. Wait a minute, did it end??

Anyway, I hope that his prediction that the New York Giants will have a better season with the combo of Darrelle Revis and Corey Webster will come true. Yes, I'm a supporter of the New York Giants even if they haven't been performing so well lately!

Jon Bon Jovi, Country Singer?

Last year, a friend, a fellow fan of Bon Jovi, asked me to listen to Jon's new single, "Who Says You Can't Go Home". He said he likes it a lot. However, no matter how many times I listen to it, I still do not think that it is outstanding.

Last week, Jon Bon Jovi won the Grammy for Best Country Collaboration for this song at the 2007 Grammy Awards. Upon receiving this piece of news, I was like, "Huh? It's that nice meh?"

But no one ever asked for my opinion, did they? *sigh*

Anyway, I don't know why that song is classified under Country. The only country element in the song is the voice of Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. Ok, so it's not Rock and it's not Country, at least not in my books, anywa.

What happened to the Bon Jovi of old that I love?

Better Than eCards

My sister's birthday is coming up next week. One of the things I hate about the distance is that I can't do things in the last minute anymore. I can't pickup a gift or birthday card one day before her birthday as shipping out to her takes ten days.

This year, I was busy and did not have the time for shopping. Out of desperation, I scoured the internet for the best
Birthday Cards and found a very unique service offered by SharpCards.com. It is an excellent service for people like me.

You see, one can use sharpcard.com for card shopping, where the friendly people at sharpcards.com will send your card purchase to you without you having to go to a physical shop to buy. Or you can, like me, use sharpcards.com to send your card and/or directly from sharpcards.com to your intended recipient. Believe me, when time is running out, this is the perfect solution.

Vet's House Call

So the vet came and left and I have paid RM80; RM30 for house call, RM50 for medication. It actually isn't the money issue. But is his diagnosis correct?

He said that my monkey is healthy and does not have a disease. He said what my monkey is going through is just old age where his muscles have weakened. He told me to compare my monkey's age to an 80 year old man.

My vet is always very positive, as opposed to my negativity. He said that what I see is not what he sees and that I like to imagine all sorts of illnesses for my monkeys.

According to my vet, my monkey is not that teruk. Huh, even when he has lost his appetite and vomited his pervious day's food? That doesn't look good to me at all, but he blames it on the hot weather! Duh!

I pray that he is correct. I would be devastated if he has made a wrong diagnosis and that we have wasted crucial time in treating my monkey.

I Heart LG Mint Chocolate Now

Do you remember I once wrote that I HEART LG Pink Chocolate? Well, I have changed my mind. You would too if you have seen the latest LG Mint Chocolate. It's getting harder and harder not to fall in love with such a cool phone! And the best thing is it is FREE with every new Verizon subscription. Of course, it is well worth it.

Verizon has always been a leading wireless service provider but their phones have nothing to shout about all these while. Things have changed with the entrance of the LG Mint Chocolate, upon signing up via Wirefly.com

Wirefly offers the best deal in the country every day. And right now, we can get free
Verizon cell phone, not any old phone but the Razr when we open a new account. Verizon or Wifrefly rebates aren't even required. Ahhh that's great news to many of us. I know it is to me!

I like the deals that Wirefly always brings to us. It always is a surprise when I log in to Wirefly.com and see their deals. I try my best to catch them because I just love the phones and rebates. This time, it's the LG Mint Chocolate woohoo!

Not Everyone Can Blog

When I first ventured into the world of blogging, one of my greatest fear was cranking out original content regularly. Many friends cautioned me about blogging as they know what a horribly boring life I lead and I would have NO content to write and even if I did, who would want to read about what I had for lunch or dinner and when I shat (past tense of shit, geddit?)

After so many months, where I started to write one post a day, I am now writing THREE posts a day. I am not even sure if I am writing posts that anyone would be interested in.

I did not start blogging to make friends unlike some people who are blogging to look for Mr. or Miss Right. I do not even go around leaving comments although I try to blog hop once a while. I'm glad I managed to keep my blog alive after so many long months.

But then I realised that not many people can blog. Last year, I asked a friend why doesn't she keep a blog? She kinda liked the idea so she registered for one. After some weeks, she came back to me and told me, "Hey, every day I think about what to write in the block but can't come up with anything."

Duh!

Who Will Win?

Well, I entered a couple of articles in the Fuel My Blog competition where $200 cash is up for grabs. The winner will be announced on 16th February, 2007. Who will win?

I hope I will. Winning $200 cash will mean I write less 40 freaking paid posts at $5 each. At the conservative length of 100 words per paid post will come up to 4000 words! That's a lot. As it is now, my hands are already suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome *sigh*

I don't know why, but good luck has always been hard to come by for me. To win $200 cash will need me plenty of luck. It's gonna be a huge windfall to me should I win.

It's an occasion to dance the happy dance.

Dreading Tomorrow

I'm feeling heartsick right now. My skinny monkey has been ill today, apart from difficulty in urinating which has been an on/off thing for a year or so, he has been vomiting now too and has lost his appetite.

If having a sick monkey on my hands is not enough, the fatty monkey has been suffering from anxiety attacks every evening for the past week every time it rains. Since last year, he suddenly developed a fear for thunderstorm.

When anxiety strikes, he may vomit and vomiting will trigger him to lapse into seizure.

As you can see, I am all stressed out. I really am out of ideas on how to help them. I need to take the skinny one to the vet tomorrow morning and will have to take the day off from work,

I dread the vet's prognosis. I dread that he may need surgery. I don't want this to happen. I wish there is a way to block it from my mind. I haven't been sleeping well lately and it hasn't help my mood.

I'm so sick I feel like burying myself in a hole and cry my heart out.

New Favorite Pink Drink

My favorite drink when I was younger had been Ribena and then it changed to freshly squeezed orange juice for the past couple of years. But this may soon change again after I was introduced to a few new drink recipes. I am legally an adult now and my taste will be changing soon to reflect my adulthood!

The new X-RATED® Fusion Liqueur®, which is a mix of premium French vodka fused with Provence blood oranges, Brazilian mangos and passion fruit is just something that I may just fall in love with and it's in PINK, my favorite color! How cute!

Waiting For PC Fair

I've wanted to buy an all-in-one printer for a damn long time but each time I ask my friend for his opinion, he will tell me that it's not good to have all the features in one unit. He told me that if one function breaks down, then I would not be able to use the other things as the unit has gone to the repair shop.

ermm I do see the logic of that, but I don't know. Branded also kaput so fast meh?

As of now, I don't even know what brand I am looking for. I have used a Canon printer that is still going strong after six years so that is a pretty good brand, in my book.

Anyway, I am waiting for PC Fair which I expect to happen in April or somewhere then. The dealers also have SOMETHING on sale, so I guess I will decide then.

No More Licking Stamps

It is Valentine's Day and the best way for me to celebrate it is by sending Valentine's ecards. That's because most of my close friends are working somewhere else. That's the best thing that can be done to let them hear Cupid's best pickup lines.

Luckily I have a membership with egreetings.com for only $13.99 per year where I can send an unlimited number of cards as often as I like.

I dd not have to stress myself out by sending the cards all at once as I was able to personalize them way before Valentine's Day and schedule it to send out on 14th February, 2007.

It's so hassle-free to send out ecards this way. Since discovering the site, I have said goodbye to paper cards. No longer do I have to queue up at the post office or lick stamps.

Three Things To Be Thankful For

Today, I read a blog entry on Colleen's Simple Kind Of Life on gratitude. I would like to make my own gratitude list as well. It's true that we are always complaining too much and not appreciate the better things in life so here is a post dedicated to the people and things that have been kind to me:

1. I am thankful for the well-being of my family, monkeys and myself. Health is the single most important thing we can have in life.

2. I am thankful for the chances that came my way, especially the windfall last year. No doubt there were missed chances as well, but it was better than nothing. And there's the chance to participate in paid blogging where it has helped me tremendously in meeting my credit bills, although my Google Page Rank in the system is STILL f**cked after 8 days and I have ten bans without knowing why.

3. I am thankful for the friends who have supported me in so many ways in my ventures, ideas and schemes. I am thankful they have taken the time to listen to my grouses as well, and put up with my moods.

Thank you and Happy Valentine's Day!

Sports Illustrated Mobile Wallpapers @ $1.99 each Only!

This morning, I got a peep at my cousin brother's mobile phone and was surprised to see wallpaper of a supermodel in swimsuit.

He told me that besides Valentine's Day, Feb, 14th, 2007, is also the day of release for the 43rd annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition with Beyonce Knowles as the cover girl.

In conjunction with that, SI Mobile is offering mobile wallpapers of these models. He said that these mobile wallpapers feature more than fifty supermodels and they are so high quality and surreal taken straight from the photos shoots as featured in past and present Sports Illustrated magazines.

I scolded him for wasting money on such things but he told me that it's not expensive, only $1.99 each download and it is supported by all major wireless carriers.

Hey, $1.99 is cheap. And I am going to download one for my own phone too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's Valentine's Day today and I have once again received this forwarded mail. This time it was from George.

I think I have been getting it for a few years in a row but every time I read it, I can feel the truth in these wise words. If you haven't read it before, here they are:

To My Friends Who Are...........SINGLE
Love is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. But if you just let it fly, it will come to you when you least expect it. Love can make you happy but often it hurts, but love's only special when you give it to someone who is really worth it. So take your time and choose the best.

To My Friends Who Are............NOT SO SINGLE
Love isn't about becoming somebody else's 'perfect person.' It's about finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be.

To My Friends Who Are............PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPE
Never say 'I love you' if you don't care. Never talk about feelings if theyaren't there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart. Never look in the eye when all you do is lie. The cruelest thing a guy can do to a girl is to let her fall in love when he doesn't intend to catch her fall and it works both ways.

To My Friends Who Are............MARRIED
Love is not about 'it's your fault', but 'I'm sorry.' Not 'where are you', but 'I'm right here.' Not 'how could you', but 'I understand.' Not 'I wish you were', but 'I'm thankful you are.'

To My Friends Who Are............ENGAGED
The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but how good you are for each other.

To My Friends Who Are............HEARTBROKEN
Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut as deep as you allow them to go. The challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but to learn from them.

To My Friends Who Are............NAIVE
How to be in love: Fall but don't stumble, be consistent but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand, and get hurt but never keep the pain.

To My Friends Who Are............POSSESSIVE
It breaks your heart to see the one you love happy with someone else but it's more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you.

To My Friends Who Are............AFRAID TO CONFESS
Love hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when someone breaks up with you. But love hurts the most when the person you love has no idea how you feel.

To My Friends Who Are............STILL HOLDING ON
A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in love, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and that you have wasted years on someone who wasn't worth it. If he isn't worth it now he's not 'going to be worth it a year or 10 years from now, let go.

TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO ARE READING THIS:
My wish for you is a man/woman whose love is honest, strong, mature, never-changing, uplifting, protective, encouraging, rewarding and unselfish.

Very touching, right? There's something to be learnt from there myself as well. But then my friend would ask me, "What do you know of love? You aren't even qualified to write about love."

Yeah, righttttt ....

Where People Really Understand

My neighbour has two sons who are drug addicts, which I have mentioned before in this blog. If one child is an addict, everyone is weary of the family but when two are drug addicts like this family, the stigma is tremendous.

Everybody in the neighborhood was afraid to befriend them in case they too become addicts themselves.

The parents had no choice but to send them away to receive drug
addiction treatment at the Stone Hawk Addiction Treatment Center. His parents were at first reluctant to send them away but upon persuasion from friends and relatives, they finally took this bold step forward.

The two boys undertook the Narconon program at the center and received such great support from the staff, who were also once addicts. They finally felt that somebody understands them, that they do not want to be addicts for the rest of their lives but instead make something good but society turned its backs on them. But in Stone Hawk, everyone is treated equally and given a chance to proof themselves and make good.

Not only were they given drug addiction treatment, they were taught live skills as well which will be useful when they reenter society. My neighbors are now much more happier knowing that their sons are in good caring hands.

There's No "Me" In My Life

That's how I've felt for a long time. Every day I feel like working for someone and something else. Like my time is wasted on something that does not benefit me. I feel like I am doing things for other people all the time and my priorities are all wrong. I can't even find the time, and then energy to take care of my own needs.

My own private work are only taken care of at the end of the day just before I retire to bed and by then I am already drained. I can't even pay attention to my own work and there are too many little mistakes here and there that cost me more time to rectify, especially when I keep nodding off in the middle of it all.

As the days go by, it's getting harder and harder to cope with the workload. The reality of being at the bottom rung is that work will ALWAYS be delegated to YOU. I don't see how I can escape from this situation.

I used to wonder why the sales people working the malls continue to work there day in, day out, even when they approach 30 - 40 years old. I used to wonder, don't they want to upgrade themselves? Why don't they take up some night course or something?

I think I know better now. By the end of the day, they are deadbeat that there is no more energy left to attend classes, and with their lowly pay, it is mighty difficult to scrap for the course fees.

Life is harsh for most people, but it is harsher for some more than for others.

All Around The Home

My sister, who recently bought a house wanted to renovated it. At first, it was difficult for her to find contractors as she hasn't been in the United States long. Her colleague introdueced her to AllAroundTheHome.com where she can find find home improvement contractors easily without hassle.

From the website, she can select which contractor she wants ta quotation from, unlike other sites who are offering similar services who actually give away homeowners contacts to the contractors, who may harass the homeowners for a sale.

She was so happy with the initial job where she successfully found a reliable contractor that she said that she will use the same method to look for electricians and plumbers as well.

No More Vista, Please!

You woulldn't believe it but this past couple of days, I have received literally TONS of email from people trying to sell me the latest Microsoft operating system, Vista.

A long time ago, I read that if only 1% of spam victims take the trouble to open a spam, read it, click on the link and out of these group of people, 1% of them actually makes a purchase, it will means millions of $$ in sales for the spammer.

Among all the email touting Vista and how cheap each can offer me over the other, for all I know, they may be from the same company, there is an email trying to sell me.... tadaaaaaaa ... lists of emails!

See the figures? Now, I am all for email marketing but not when the emails are unsolicited.

After looking at this list, I did not go to their website, I wonder how many of my email addresses are actually in similar lists like this!?!

All My Children Soap

A friend introduced me to the soap, All My Children. I have to admit that I was rather addicted to it and the episodes on TV just don't come soon enough. To satisfy my curiosity, I went to Soaps.com

I applaud Soaps.com for its comprehensive coverage of
All My Children. It is updated so fast that I have no worries if I ever miss an episode as I am sure to get the story from Soaps.com

Soaps.com also have spoilers which I simply love to read. I find that I enjoy the show more when I have watched the spoliers. I also get to compare how accurate the spoiler is presented from the real program.

Soaps.com is the place I have out with other All My Children fans where we get to chit chat about our favorite scenes, actors and even dialogues!

Opinion? What Opinion?

Many times I come across women asking their husbands or boyfriends, "Which is nice ah?" while showing two or three pieces of blouses, bags or a few pairs of shoes to the man and they will almost always say, "All are nice."

Of come on, what is so nice about a fah li look dark gaudy coloured blouse or a faux crocodile skin bag or shoes? If they had asked me, I would have told them the truth that none are nice at all. And the price for these ugly items are definitely not nice. I wonder if the men really thought so or did they even pay attention.

I think that it is absolutely useless to ask for their opinion. It is better to decide for ourselves, don't you think so?

Men are no good taking along shopping, except to be the paymaster. No wonder they are termed ATMs. Other than that, they are just an extra pair of hands to carry the bags!

Running Background Checks

My friend, Paul, has set up his own company for more than ten years. He told me that he dreads it each time he has to recruit new people because there are so many kinds of people that he has a tough time checking their background.

That was before he came to know of ReverseMobile.com. In spite of the name, this website can perform more than
Reverse Cell Phone Look Up.

One can also run background checks on anyone at all and the data is computed swiftly and accurately too. Paul said that by using this service, he was able to easily shortlist his list of employment applications.

Shopping Nightmare

Well, I am not someone who loves to shop, unlike other girls. Maybe it's because of my half sizes. I am not Small and neither am I Medium. And shoes... Ah! I'm a 61/2 which is a terrible size to be, believe me. I always end up getting shoes that are either too tight or too loose. And I am too poor to get custom made shoes *sigh*

I thought I'd better get myself some new clothes this Chinese New Year. The ones that I have in my wardrobe, I've been wanting to giveaway but I just can't spare the time to dig and sort them.

So anyway, I ended up not getting anything. There were sooooo many people and of course I did not see anything I liked enough to part with at least RM40. You know, I went, "Wah, this brown pants so ugly, after discount still RM39.90??"

That's the reality of retailing. They jack the price so high up on normal days and they try to bait us with a 70% discount which is still way above cost AFTER the discount. No, I'm NOT buying into that sales gimmick.

And brown is my least favourite colour, anyway!

OK, so it will be just another Chinese New Year without new clothes or shoes, which is no big deal.

Comfy Reef Sandals

My sister came home from the United States for a holiday and brought home so many pairs of reef sandals for the family! She said that reef sandals are the IN thing currently and we MUST also have them.

Reef sandals really stand out from the crowd with their contrasting strap patterns and colors. I think it's very creative but what I like most about these sandals are the comfort they provide PLUS their reef-flex triple density eva construction. This feature provides correct arch support for the feet and hence, our backbone too. No more cheap shoes that make us flat-footed!

Cheque Fraud ~ Crazy Woman

This is a true story of a woman who issued a cheque to buy a gift card from a spa. She did not have funds in her bank account so the cheque bounced.

A few days later, she went to the spa with the gift card to claim a massage. Of course she was apprehended, but she said that the gift card was given to her by her sister and she used a different name.

Many people do not understand why she does this. Her father is an attorney, she drives a beautiful car, but this is not the first time she has tried to pull off small scams like this instead of buying them. It's not as if she could not afford them.

When she was apprehended, she did not even have her driver's licence with her.

If she is poor and had issued a bad cheque to buy food, then it is understandable and people will pity her and let her go without pressing charges. But she is definitely not poor.

All I can think of is that she has a type mental sickness, like people who can’t help themselves from stealing.

Home Security For Peace of Mind

Some of you may remember that last year, there were three break in attempts to our home. Believe me, the breach in security kept us in fear. We have to make sure that our windows and doors are locked at all times and it feels like living in a prison.

When Markus heard of this, he told me that his grandparents' home in Marco Island in Florida was also broken into once. After that, the elderly couple hired a
Florida Security System company and installed a personalized security system to their home.

The knowledge that the security of their home is being monitored round the clock really gave them peace of mind.

Markus told me that I should have this installed too, because after three failed attempts, the robbers may be back and badder too!

The Boxes Are Ready

Since last week, I've got boxes ready as I would like to pack off some of my unused clothes to the orphanage. These clothes are in good condition but since I do not wear them anymore, I thought that I might as well give them to people who have better use for them.

I read before that if there is any piece of clothing that you did not wear at all for three years due to whatever reason, you probably will never wear it and if it is given away, you will not even miss it.

Actually, I have been doing this clothes donation thingy since I was a kid. There is a convent and orphanage near my house and it sort of became a ritual for my family.

However, lately, I have been so busy,I kept adding in clothes without giving any away, my wardrobe is about to burst and topple over, seriously.

Well, it happened to my bookshelf, I won't be surprised if it happens to my wardrobe as well. I am a confirmed hoarder! I really need to get some stuff out and also catch that stupid lizard which is still, I guess, living inside.

The only question is, WHEN?

Markus' Trip To Key West

Markus just came back from Florida. That lucky devil gets to travel there EVERY YEAR! That's because his grandparents own a home in Florida.

However, he told me that it is not that fun with the old couple around and every time he goes to Florida to "visit" them, he will book a tour to other parts of Florida. This time, it was
Key West vacation rentals.

He told me that the luxury oceanfront condo he stayed in during his holiday had a breathtaking view out to sea and it was refreshing to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

He even showed off to me a stack of photos that he took of the condo and surroundings. It really IS luxurious. I wish I was there too!

Blog Spring Cleaning

It's amazing. Chinese New Year is just less than ten days away and I am not spring cleaning the house like I should be doing and instead I took the trouble to clean up my blog.

It actually took me a few hours to remove all the dead image links from my old sponsored posts. I said dead image links because I accidentally deleted my image from my image host. Big blunder! Gah!

Anyway, I took the opportunity to delete all the little red X boxes AND also Count Tracula links from the sponsored posts. I hate them and they are the primary cause of getting my posts rejected because I always forget to append the link! Ah!

So now, all posts are up to date going on a month to month basis. Less mess, easier to load too.

But the mess only comes back every day haha!

Of Nutz, Ballz and Testiclez

I recently came across something on the internet that I MUST share with you. After a couple of months of serious blogging, it's time to inject some humor!

Ladies and gentlemen, do take a peep at The Home of
Your Nutz!

At first, I wondered what these nutz were for. Now I know better and I think they are more than decorative pieces. These nutz are said to boost a man's ego, if he hung a pair at the back of his car or bike! These will surely grab the attention he so sorely wishes for!

From 2in ballz to 8in giant nutz, whatever the size, whatever the usage, for a key chain, bike, car or truck, you name it, Your Nutz has it. They come in many colors too. Need I tell you that the most popular items are the flesh 8in big ballz and the 8in nutz sack in furry gorilla?

Honestly, these nutz are so real looking. Wouldn't it be funny to see people's reaction if you hung a pair out? I guarantee you everyone would do a double take!

However, if you were going to some serious place, like a place of worship, better keep the ballz in a nut sack, OK? Take care to only conceal the nutz in a nut sack of its appropriate size. We don't want them to be constricted and without ventilation, do we?

These novelty nutz, ballz and testiclez are sure to make a grown man blush but they make great gifts for your automotive enthusiast friends.

After the photo I posted on New Year's Day, this post confirms that this is an adult blog! haha!
