Janna's Jantics

Since last month, I have been blog hopping like a bunny, leaving comments here and there trying to build back links. One of my new blog discoveries is Jantics, written by Janna.

While I do not know Janna personally, I certainly found her entire blog rather light-hearted and amusing. It is always great to read blogs like that, without a theme or niche because those can get rather boring when post after post is of the same subject matter.

When I first discovered Jantics, I read quite a few of her old posts dating back to February, 2007, and it looks to me as if Janna' personality shines through in every post. Like I said, I don't know her at all but that is what I sensed.

Besides the fact that Janna is very funny and carries her humour well in her blog, I also think that her blog is a good break from reading mommy blogs, because Janna is single, like me!

How To Win $7.77 In A Week's Time?

Is this even possible? The answer is YES. $7.77 may be chicken feed to many, but I like to try my luck in stuff like these PLUS I am giving out backlinks to a fellow postie to do what little I can in helping him up his Page Rank. I can only hope that someone else would do this for me. You know, good retribution kinda thingy but I digress ...

Ryan, from Ryan444123.com, is giving $7.77 to seven lucky winners in conjunction with the momentous occasion of 07.07.07. Boy, do I still remember 06.06.06, 05.05.05, 04.04.04, 03.03.03, 02.02.02 and 01.01.01! Hard to believe that time files so fast.

Anyway, if you want to participate in this contest and gve yourself a fair shot at $7.77, do read Ryan's Contest Post.

I haven't been reading Ryan444123.com all that much for lack of time but while I do not read REAL news except for the headlines (see my news feed at the top?), I enjoy reading whacky, off beat news and there are plenty on Ryan444123.com!

I did wonder why the layout of Ryan's blog is so plain at the top while the footer has a few banners. I think Ryan is in the process of revamping the look of his blog. I can't wait to see a new layout.

Ok, so I guess by now you know how to grab a piece of that $7.77. Why am I even letting you know and dock my own chances? Hah! Good things must share!

Beautiful Bermuda

Do you remember that I used to keep a lot of pen-pals? Well, one of them is from Hamilton, Bermuda and I am surprised to receive his letter last week! It has been such a long time already and both of us have moved on but he still remembered to write.

In his letter, he told me about his island country, Bermuda, and sent me lots of pictures too. Now that he is a working adult, he could certainly send me more items from his country!

He told me about the
weather there, it is certainly different from Malaysia. Also, as a tour co-coordinator, he now has to plan activities for his guests and he tries to put himself in the shoes of a foreigner. He said that it is not easy he is a local and has lived in Bermuda all his life. With this job, he is looking at his country with different eyes.

George said that should I go to Bermuda one day, he could act as my personal tour guide and take me to visit all the tourist attractions that I have only seen in books and on TV right now.

What a wonderful letter it was. I do hope that one day, I am able to visit him there. I am sure I will have a great time with thanks to the local knowledge of the island!

Photo Contest! $100,000 In Prizes To Be Won!

I came across a photo contest recently. Although this contest is only open to residents of Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada and United Kingdom, I feel that I have enough readers from these countries to warrant a post. I love sharing my discoveries and hope that although I may not personally benefit from the contest because I am in Malaysia, I hope that my readers WIN!

Picture.com is currently running a contest where a total of $100,000 cash is up for grabs. Participation is very easy for people from eligible countries. Just Match The DNA Already!

Recently, there is this high profile murder case of a foreign woman in Malaysia and there has been wide speculation that the woman's son is the love child of a high ranked politician in the country.

I don't even know why there is a need to speculate and accuse each party of this and that. With the advancement of technology, it is very simple to determine the parentage of the child if all parties concerned take a
DNA test. That will surely end all speculation.

However, I think if each murder case is solved so easily, then there won't be any courtroom drama that makes the stories for LA Law and all similar TV programs, right?

In this case, I think it is a pity that such a young and beautiful woman was murdered like that, whoever did it but as the saying goes, the beautiful die young.

Why I Prefer FriendFinder

I was introduced to FriendFinder recently, an online friendship site. Actually, a lot of my friends have already been a member of the site and they have told me to join them as well.

My friends have said that it is very easy to make friends because the people are very friendly and easy-going plus everybody is there with one simple purpose; to make friends. Previously, my friends have even taken me along to gatherings that they have organized for local FriendFinders and yes, they are all like old friends.

FriendFinder is a whole lot easier to use than other sites. Moreover, other sites are all dating sites while this is mainly a friendship site. And membership is free and we get to build our profile and upload our photos. I noticed that most members have at a photo up and this is great and it takes a lot of guesswork out of imagining how the other person looks like.

By the way, FriendFinder is an international friendship site with members coming from all corners of the world. As a member, the choice is ours if we want to make friends with locals or with someone from another country.

As for other similar sites, although they may be international, they will have one portal for each country so it makes it difficult for members to cross their friendship lines. FriendFinder has gained me quite a number of friends!

I'm Ultra Upset! God Help Me!

You most probably know that in about two months' time, I would have finished repaying the MYR100,000 business debt that my father incurred some years back and I would be so relieved. It is very tough on me to hold three jobs to pay off this sum and upkeep the family and the monkeys and also just enough for myself to live, but frugally.

My mother always tell me, it's only another X months! Ok, so I slog on and even going without sleep through the night. Some of my friends know that and they try to keep me awake because I ask them to so that I could pack in some work in the night.

So the other day, I really thought that I am going to be rid of this burden and then I could start saving up some money for myself. I want to buy my own car and be independent and I need a laptop to help me work better.

But then there’s more bad news. My mother told me that there is still a MYR3000 debt owing to the same creditor. I was like, "What the %&^%^*??? You said that it's going to be over and done with NEXT MONTH? Now you tell me that there is another MYR3000?"

Ok, so I agreed to shoulder that as well except that instead of paying a monthly installment of MYR2300, I would pay MYR1000 per month spread out over 3 months. I thought that with a reduction of about 50% I would not be so pressured and can breathe easier.

But then there’s even worse news. I think just because this debt is soon going to be fully repaid, my mother told me a problem that I felt compelled to help.

More than two years ago, my cousin sister fell very ill and was admitted to a private hospital. Her mother-in-law made a deposit to the hospital but as the days dragged on, the bill accumulated. The family then transferred my cousin sister to the government hospital where she subsequently passed away. According to my mother, the husband of my cousin was unable to settle the hospital bill there and then so the hospital forced the cousin's parents (my uncle & aunt) and a friend to be guarantors. Shouldn't the husband be the guarantor? I don't know why but somehow he was not involved.

So like I said, my cousin passed away at the government hospital and just for your information, patients who pass away at the government hospital will not be billed.

After so many months, the husband, who pledged to repay the private hospital bill, did not do so. The hospital management engaged a lawyer and summoned my uncle, aunt and that friend to court but none of them attended the hearing. My uncle and aunt are uneducated and they are from out of state. They did not know how serious it is for not turning up.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, a bailiff came to my uncle's house and recorded down all their property and gave them an ultimatum to settle the sum of money or they will attach the house and cart off everything that is inside, including the computer, settee, electrical appliances and even the garden swing. Can you believe it?

According to my mother, the total bill came up to be about MYR8,900 as of last week. And they are supposed to pay off the debt by 2nd July or somewhere there. So my mother came to me for help.

What I don't understand is why my cousin's two brothers do not help to settle it? It was not that big an amount in the early days before the interest snowballed. But no, they prefer to use their money to live a good life. Don’t we all know how to have a good life? One drives a BMW and another drives a Toyota Camry. Both kept saying that the husband should be the one paying off that bill.

The husband has to take care of their four young children single-handedly and living in Johor Bahru, where the cost of living is so high, is not a joke what with education and childcare. So he can't pay. What is the big deal if the brothers chipped in to help, right? My cousin is their sister, for Heaven's sake!

But they refused. They don't care if their parents go bankrupt for being guarantors in this case and failing to pay up the money. So guess who is the one who is going to help them?

My mother was telling me things like, "This problem is very easy to settle with money." Don't we know it? Whose money ahhh?

Seriously, I AM VERY SICK OF LIFE here.

Paul asked me why don't I jump airplane and go to New York City? Even telephone operators with the most basic of education are paid USD600 per week. Those who are a little bit capable, maybe with typing or computing skills can earn USD800 per week or so. A nanny is paid USD2000 a month, inclusive of food and lodging.

I just might go this way, not so much for the money since with the high cost of living there won't be much left from the pay cheque, but just so to get away from here, you know?

The IS Life After Drugs

I met my old neighbor last weekend. It has been years since I saw him and the last I heard was that he went to the United States. So, last weekend, he came back to attend to a family matter and I had the chance to catch up a little with him.

My neighbor, Lee, told me that he went to the United States not to study, as we were told previously, but to undergo drug and alcohol
addiction treatment. A long time ago before he left, he tried various methods but none helped him. Even when a program managed to get him out of the bad habit, it was only for a little while before he relapsed into it again.

His parents finally managed to scrape enough money to get him over to the United States where he is put through a program that finally helped him to stay clean from drugs and alcohol. Lee is so happy with a new lease of life that he now tries to help everyone who is in the same boat as he was.

I think it is commendable that he managed to kick the habit. I always said that it may be hard to keep away from drugs once a person is entangled, but it is not impossible. Lee is a testament of that.

Time To Upgrade Payroll Software

My cousin works in the Human Resources department of a China man-style manufacturing company. Although she is supposed to be the top person of her department, it is by title only and she does not have much say in the day-to-day running of her department and definitely no authority over the upgrade of software for the computer so that she and her staff could work more effectively.

My cousin complained to me that despite putting in a memo to the top management that they need new
payroll software, they still have yet to allocate a budget for that after more than six months.

I really cannot imagine working in such an environment where we are better off concentrating on our work instead of chasing for an improvement to the system. My cousin also felt tat she is wasting her creativity in such a set up. She said that she has decided to leave the company if things do not improve within a month. That is too bad but then it's the company that is losing great human resources.

Replacing The Dishwasher

My sister's dishwasher broke down recently and she was desperate to find a replacement because summer is here and they will be having parties almost every week. My sister does not relish washing dishes and would rather not host any party if she ends up washing the dishes every time!

She went only to search for a reasonable priced branded dishwasher since hers is already beyond economical repair and came across Krillion, a website tat allows her to search for the most relevant electrical products in her locality. My sister was on the look out for Bosch Dishwashers in particular since these are highly recommended by her office mates.

Using Krillion, my sister managed to receive actionable results for dishwashers, which means that these are available right away for her should she decided to hop into car and drive out to buy.

My sister was very happy. She is going to get her boyfriend to pay for it or there will be no summer parties!

What Happened To Hextar Holdings Bhd.?

Last week, I wanted to apply for eleven lots of Hextar Holdings Bhd. but somehow, I stupidly miscalculated and only ended up applying for 9900 shares, which means not even ten lots. One thing about applying for IPOs is that it makes a whole lot of difference in terms of chances by applying for ten and eleven lots even though the difference is only one lot.

Like I said, I applied less than I wanted to and while on the Maybank2U screen, I kept calculating but somehow can't get the figure that I wanted. Blame it on my fatty monkey who was making such a ruckus just outside my room and also my own lack of sleep. Once someone is not getting enough rest, performance will drop so that was what happened to me.

I was so mad at myself for losing a chance and wanted to apply another eleven lots using my mother's CDS account and then I thought, I should not bother since it is sort of like fated how much money one gains. Then when the ballots were published, again I wanted to kick myself because I failed to get even one lot despite applying for almost ten.

However, on the day of listing, I don't know what happened, I was told that the counter was suspended but I was not given the reason. What happened to the company? Why was it suspended? I can't find the news article about this too. I do not have a hard copy of the newspaper and only tried to check online and there was nothing! Can anyone tell me what happened? Well, I should be happy since I didn't get any successfully!

Qwixo.com - Online Bulletin Board

I was just introduced to an online bulletin board at Qwixo.com. This is like one of those community boards that we see in our local convenience store, serving people in that area.

At Qwixo.com, the concept is the same, except that you can access your community online and message spreads faster as well when everyone in your zip code area who are members of Qwixo.com gets to read your message.

The advantage of using Qwixo is that sometimes you just want to reach out to people in the neighborhood. Perhaps you are looking for a part time job nearby or you are looking for people to help you with some household work or pet sit where you prefer people in the same area, Qwixo.com will be the place for you to post your message.

Currently, membership to Qwixo.com and all postings are free. We can post as many legitimate messages on our local boards without paying no matter if we are buying or selling or just connecting. I hope that in Qwixo.com continues to grow, this service will remain free. Sooner or later, Qwixo.com will be the site everyone checks in the morning!

Self Print Or Shop Print Cheaper??

All along, I have been printing business cards for my dad because I thought that since he doesn't need that many, I will do it for him. I have a good printer that runs on DuraBrite ink, ink that will not smudge even right after printing.

However, recently, I found out that my dad has been giving out the business cards as if they were pamphlets! It was not as if his business improved! I was so mad because I am already hard pressed for time and he kept asking me for his business cards because he said they have run out.

I did tell him to get his cards printed at the printers because I don't have time to do it for him anymore if he is going to waste his cards like that but he said if I do for him, it is cheaper. My DuraBrite is not cheap at all but I guess he doesn't realize it since he is not the one buying them!

Sigh.. I think I will end up PAYING for his cards just so he won't keep asking me to do it for him!

Home Depot Gardening Club

When I was a child, I lived near a house called "Nancy Rose Garden". As the name suggested, the house has a very beautiful rose garden. Nancy's son was my friend and I used to go over to their house everyday. They subsequently moved to Singapore and Nancy Rose Garden became history.

However, since then, I have always wanted my very own rose garden but I what's stopping me is that I am unable to devote time to my garden should I have it but I do hope that one day when I am retired, I would be able to grow my own roes garden.

Recently, I came across something called Home Depot Gardening Club on the internet. They have a Home Depot Gardening Newsletter signup which provides great gardening tips and tricks and also attractive discounts. It is free to sign up and they only require a valid email address and home address. Unfortunately, this offer is only valid for people in the United States. I was disheartened because it always seems like we are sidelined but I thought I would still blog about the Home Depot Gardening Club to benefit my American readers! Sign up for your FREE membership to The Home Depot Garden Club and get exclusive offers, coupons, savings, expert tips, advice, regional reports and more. Click here and watch your savings grow.

I also told my sister about Home Depot Gardening Club and she said she would register and if there is an interesting Home Depot Gardening Club Article, she would share it with me. I am looking forward to at least one Home Depot Gardening Club Article every month and I do not even have a garden yet! Am I weird or what? Anyway, if you are in the United States and love gardening too, do check out the Home Depot Gardening Club. It is free to join!

Last Minute Wedding Favors

One of my distance relatives, Jenny, is getting married at the end of the month. She is very stressed out from her wedding preparation and requested for my help in getting wedding favors. The reason why she left it to the last minute was because her mother was opposed to the idea, saying that it is too Westernized. In the end, her mother gave in and so Jenny is able to get her personalized wedding favors, except that time is running out!

Of course, being a shopaholic myself, I gladly agreed to help her. Since I love online shopping, I told her that she will save a lot of time if we just get what she likes online. She can also select her favors at the click on the mouse without rushing to various shops in town. The convenience is why online shopping is so popular.

I showed her the website of Shop For Weddings, which is an online superstore for wedding favors, accessories and other paraphernalia. Jenny was really impressed and for once, she is confident that she will be able to get her favors in time for her big day!

Drug Rehab Stories & Experiences

I have been writing quite a few posts on drug and alcohol rehabilitation recently. This is a topic close to my heart because I have friends, neighbors and family member who are heavily dependent on such substances. I guess we don't really know why this social ill is so rampant and tend to blame our own social circle of friends from bad influence.

Today, I came across a blog that are contributed by former drug addicts and each post is written by different people, sharing their story, how they became addicted to drugs and how they managed to overcome it. Many people are skeptical about the effectiveness of
Drug Rehab centers but they do work if only the addict has the willpower and determination to work for the drug rehab program too.

From the articles contributed to the blog, Drug Rehab Mobile, the writers have had much success with drug rehab programs and they managed to lead a clean life. However, it is more important to maintain the clean life and not fall into a relapse.

I love reading about people overcoming their addiction, either by enrolling into a drug rehab program or other methods. Being a drug addict is not the end of the world if the addict truly wishes to kick the bad habit. If you know of anyone who is dependent on drugs, do try to convince him that drug rehabilitation may be the answer for him.

Travel Insurance

I read in the papers that that government is proposing to make travel insurance compulsory. I believe it will make our travel budget tighter but since making plans to travel, I do think it is a wise move to make it compulsory because one never knows if we may need it!

I think one of the reasons people are unhappy with this proposal is because a traveler may cancel his traveling plans anytime and they are afraid that they would lose the money spent on buying an insurance policy that they may not have use for.

This is why I think the best option is to go for insurance policies that come with the "Cancel for any reason" clause like the ones offered by TravelSafe.com. Sometimes we make our travel plans for far in advanced by life can be so unpredictable that we may need up not being able to go for our long panned holiday. When we cancel out holiday and if we have bought travel insurance that comes with the benefit of "cancel for any reason", we would be able to get a refund of at least 75%. This is indeed way better than suffering from a total loss in travel investment, don't you think so?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and last book of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling could easily be the most anticipated book release of all time. While I am not a great fan of Harry Potter and have not read any of his books, I did watch Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone and found it rather entertaining. One of the reasons I prefer to watch rather than read it is because Harry Potter books are as thick as telephone directories and I simply can't spare the time.

Like I said, I am not a Potterhead but being online for such long hours, I can't escape from the Harry Potter hype that is all over the internet now. In fact, one of the questions that I have been asked so often recently is where can we buy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Potterheads all over the world are trying to guess what will the climax of this book be like since it is the final edition and J.K. Rowling will have the opportunity to tie up loose ends, although she has been ultra tight lipped about the plot though she did say to expect more deaths! EEekkk

Many fans are protesting that this is the last of Harry Potter they will read. I personally feel that there is still plenty of room for Harry Potter to expand beyond Deathly Hallows.

Since this is the last edition, I may well be reading it or watching the movie when it is released. I am expecting it to end with a twist. What do you think?

A Much Needed Hawaiian Break

I just got off the phone with my old friend Mike. He wondered how I could go on and on working without a vacation break. He said that he worked non-stop for two years and is absolutely ready to take a break. That's why he booked a vacation to Hawaii without delay. He was afraid that once he procrastinated, he may never get to go for a long while yet!

Mike told me that he found many tours to Hawaii on the internet but one of the Maui Vacations caught his eye.

Since this is the first time he is vacationing in Hawaii, Mike wanted to get the most value out of his leave from work and money. What he is really looking forward to is the special ecotourism package that is all the rage now in Hawaii. He said this was recommended to him by his colleague who found them being offered on the website www.HawaiianBeachRentals.com

Mike told me that this is one website I surely must check out. For one, I too need a much deserved break and I am assured of getting my money's worth easily from any package offered by www.HawaiianBeachRentals.com

Liposuction - A Common Plastic Surgery Procedure

I once asked a friend of mine, who is a practicing plastic surgeon, what are the most common procedures requested by his patients. He told me that the most common cases are things done on the eyes and nose for facial plastic surgeries and liposuction to suck out fat from the body to reshape it. I do admit that most of us want a better body shape and what better way than to get a liposuction done?

I know there are other less drastic ways like dieting and exercising but I am all for short term pain and long term gain.

My friend told me that plastic surgeries are very advanced in the United States. He has been to one center in California where it is very famous with celebrities. Beverly Hills liposuction is so common that there is a center set up within the plastic surgery center that focuses on liposuction alone. No wonder Hollywood celebrities look so good all the time!

From what I understand, men have also been going for Los Angeles liposuction because they too want to look good. It used to be only women who are very conscious of their body shape but not anymore.

I guess that it is happy times for women when their men start to take care of themselves!

One Phone Call Also Wanna Save

Well, I wrote that I handed my monkey's bladder stones to my vet to send to the United States for a free urolith test. That was back in early May. He told me that it would take approximately one month for the test to be ready taking into account the shipping time required to and from the United States.

Right now, it is already almost two months and he did not call me up. I am assuming that the test result is already out. He did take down my email address and if he had wanted to save his phone bill, he could shoot me an email but he did not.

Last time when my monkey was to have blood test, when the results came out and he was supposed to call me, I waited and waited but there was no call from him so I called up to enquire. He had the cheek to tell me that it "just arrived" because when I went to his clinic to get the copy of the results, it was written on the letter, "received on such and such a date" which was a few days before my call.

One of his clients already told me that this vet never called anyone up and if he did, can strike lottery already. If I had the time to go over to his clinic, I would call him but right now I am so hard pressed for time that I am putting it off too. Guess I will have to make time again *sigh*

The Ethan Willis and Randy Garn Prosper Strategy

I just came across this fairly old article dating back to Jun 26, 2005 about Prosper Inc. This company was established two old friends, Ethan Willis and Randy Garn. I really love their motto that goes "Your life is your business . . . Making it Prosper is ours."

What Prosper Inc. does is to mentor people in many aspects of life to help people achieve success. I find that many people go through life without a real aim. They tend to be underachievers because they do not know how to set a goal for themselves.

According to this article, Prosper Inc. strives to change that. These two guys may be young but they are visionaries. They do know that people can be so much better than what they are with a little push here and a little mentoring there.

So what they did was to engage experts in their respective fields to support Prosper Inc's educational program. So far they have been very successful in their programs and have already served over 21,000 people. I m sure with the number as great as that they all can't be wrong, can they?

Joost Update

After multiple attempts, I finally managed to download and install Joost. Wow, it is an amazing application which enables us to watch TV on demand. It used to be only available for Joost testers but it is now available for all.

However, when I tried it just now, there were not many channels. Perhaps I need more time on my hands to explore the channels and programs.
While it is a very great program, I continue to lament the fact our bandwidth is still not up to par.

I have so much problem watching videos on YouTube that I never bother anymore, unless I let it load first and then only watch it when it has finally loaded once.

With Joost, though, buffering is less although I am using the same internet connection. I don't know why. The experience is simply different. Wish I had a fasted internet connection, though.

The Missing Key To The Law of Attraction

I have previously read an article that says that if we focus or mind on something bad enough, we would be able to achieve the dream. One case of a competitive swimmer was cited where the swimmer visualized himself swimming and winning the race in the competition the following day and even went as far as envisioning himself standing on the podium and receiving his prize. The following day, the swimmer did actually win the race and it happened exactly like how he envisioned it to be.

I am not sure how effective this method it. I have tried to visualize important events in my own mine before the big day but they never seemed to turn out like how I wished it to be.

I subsequently read that although many people may have been practicing this Law of attraction, not many people have been successful because the key to success is missing.

From what I understand, the missing key is addressed in the Greatest Manifestation Principle in the World. Apparently, many people have then found success in the Law of Attraction. Failure rate is reported to have dropped drastically. I am so interested to find out what will be revealed in the book.

This book will only help us to fill out the gap in the Law of Attraction as we have known all along. Not only have people reported much success in achieving their dreams but there have been positive results in achieving something intangible like happiness and peace of mind.

You can bet I will be checking out this book! Will you?

What My Father Taught Me

I realise that I did not write a Father's Day post this year like I did last year. However, today, I saw in The Star an article that goes "What My Father Taught Me". I did not read the article in the newspaper so am going to interpret it as I know it.

Here, I will attempt to list out what my father taught me. I mean the values he imparted and not things like teaching me to ride a bike, swim or drive.

If you have read my post last year, you would know that I have a bittersweet relationship with my father. I absolutely suffocate under his stubborn narrow minded mentality but he is my father nonetheless and I know he tries his best to do good by us.

My father has taught me (in random order):

1. to marry the man who loves me and not the man I love
2. to value life
3. to depend on myself
4. to have self-respect
5. to help others when they need it
6. to control my emotions
7. to plan my own destiny
8. to learn from other people's mistakes
9. that there are many things that can be done without money
10. never say die

My father is somebody special but I hardly understand him.

Just About Time To Redecorate The Home

As you know, I am trying to redecorate my home section by section and I would like to start with my bedroom and office-cum-study room. I have been to all the local furniture shops but nothing could compare to the furniture that I found from online furniture stores. If I could make the decision, I would have bought my furniture online but my parents are not receptive of the idea of online shopping.

The latest online furniture store that I stumbled upon is Furniture From Home. One thing that caught my eye about the website is that it has a homey feel yet looks classy. Perhaps it is the play of the color scheme. Whatever it is, it feels like home.

I am very much impressed with the clean lines of sofa sectionals especially the contemporary sectional white leather sofa with chaise.

I really like the zoom feature where we can have a better view of the furniture not only by zooming in and out but also get a higher or lower view and views of the sides.

Bedroom sets offered by Furniture From Home is very inviting. There are the classic and contemporary designs and I personally prefer modern bedroom furniture. Right now, my office is partitioned off from my bedroom so space is rather limited. The impressive home office furniture sold by Furniture From Home would be more suited for people with a real office or study. I wish I had that but that would only happen when I have my own home and I am certainly working towards that!

I think that it is excellent customer service on the part of Furniture From Home to offer worry free purchase and white glove delivery. It certainly is very reassuring and sets the company apart from the ones I that have encountered. They leave a mess behind after setting up my furniture and I am supposed to discard the trash by myself or pay them extra to cart them away.

I think I would have to start convincing my parents to let me shop for furniture online!

Joost

I have seen the word Joost here and there on the internet but I did not know what I was until a friend sent me an invitation. Ah, so Joost is a program that lets us watch TV on demand, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, on our computer.

So after I received this invitation, I have been trying to download the set up file since last night but it kept failing. I don't know why. Perhaps there are too many people downloading at the same time that my connection gets cut off? It's quite a large file but I do not have download manager.

Anyway, I can't wait to get that programme installed so that I can watch TV programmes on my computer. I know, I know! I know that I am already stuck to the computer too much and here I am yearning to watch TV on it when I can't even find the time to watch regular TV and have not even watched on programme on Astro from beginning to the end.

Joost is still in beta but if you would like an invitation to download it, let me know via comments. I will show you where to get it!

An Invitation To Visit Sweden

My friend, Carey, invited us to visit her in Sweden. she is married to a Swedish man and has lived in Stockholm for five years now. She misses home a lot and is always inviting her friends over for a visit because she finds it difficult to travel with two young children in tow.

She has told us that there are plenty of
cheap hotels in Stockholm and there is no fear of being charged high even if we book at the last minute.

Carey told us that one star Stockholm Hotels starts from as low as SEK395 per night and that is a steal! She said that if we do take up her offer, we could also go on excursions to nearby Scandinavian cities since we are already there.

I have an old friend who is not working in Norway, so perhaps it would be a good chance to hop over for a visit!

Apple iPhone

Apple will finally release the iPhone on 29th June, 2007. It's been too long in incoming after all the delays. I wonder if I have made the right decision in buying my smart phone or should I have waited a little longer for the iPhone, which is supposed to be even smarter than the smart phone?

You may know that I am not all that happy with my purchase, not because I forked out an arm and a leg for it but it is because it did not work as I expected it to.

Well, it all boils down to horrible time. And the big question is, will the iPhone ever be available in Malaysia? If so, when will that be and at what price? I am not willing to spend more than MR2000 on a phone, including accessories.

So, I kinda regret getting my smart phone now that iPhone is almost here and with TOUCH SCREEN!!! So what do I do with my smart phone, the one that I am not happy with? *sigh*

P/S: I would have posted a picture of the iPhone if I did not read that it is illegal to simply post its photos. Really ah??
